Let’s be realistic now; snacking is a fact of life and as long as there are companies out there to supply our demand, which there always will be, we might as well as find peace and pleasure with the munchies that we so choose to involve ourselves with.
Snacking tends to get a bad rap and quite often is blamed for our inability to stop, slow down or say no to a particular item. As we learn that the ball bounces in our court and it is up to us and only us to make the right choices and travel down a pathway filled with positive experiences and the ability to say “no,” approaching your mid-mo
ing, mid-afte
oon and evening snack with an outlook of acceptance, control and enjoyment is a wonderful thing to create.
Let’s call a spade a spade and truly acknowledge the fact that it isn’t the snack food that creates havoc in our lives, it is the amount that we consume that then leads us down a stormy, bumpy pathway. As always there are methods to gaining control and creating an environment that supports your habits of snacking on a daily basis.
- Divide favorite snack items into “snack size” baggies to promote portion size awareness.
- Do not term any snack as “bad” or eliminate it from your life. Be realistic.
- Shoot for three sensible, healthy snacks/day, each hovering around 250 calories/snack.
- When enjoying a snack sit down, savor the moment and journal your choices.
- Shop for healthy snack options. Go to the “Client Page” of the website and look for “Healthy Links.” Here you will find beneficial snack options.
From the very onset of our journey together on this realistic approach to living your life, you have never, nor will you ever, be expected to not be real! Snacking is an element that should be included in your everyday life to enhance your well-being, provide your body with fuel and enjoy its role throughout your days. It’s about you and your relationship with moderation each day.
