Many Lovely Ladies tend to reach for a comfort tool when they are under pressure. That tool is certainly not a hammer, nor is it pair of scissors or a drill; I’m sure you know what it is. Yes, you are correct. Many women use food as their instrument of reassurance. Not because they want to, but because it is a habit that has been created over the decades.

Now is the time to undo the stitches and resew the pattern into a make-up of healthy, productive components that support your goals. Today is the day that you will do the best you possibly can to discover new ways in which to handle stressful occurrences in your life and make positive strides to initiate the suggestions below to avoid using food as your coping device. When you feel tension beginning to creep into your situation reach into your toolbox and utilize the following tips:

~Acknowledge the pang of pressure and recognize its presence in the moment. ~Think about what is causing your inner turmoil and why. ~Take a deep breath and take action to turn the feeling around. ~Disassociate yourself from the situation if it is at all possible, just walk away. ~Change your mind set; control your attitude toward the situation. ~Replay in your mind how you will not reach for food at as a stress management tool. ~Call a friend, text your coach or turn to your significant other for support.

Here are some wonderful options that Lovely Ladies enjoy participating in while relieving stress: go for a walk while listening to music, sit with your cat in a comfy lounge chair with a cup of coffee and tell her how much you love her; petting her until she falls asleep, take out your knitting, read a book, talk on the phone, go to the gym and forget everything, garden, go to the beach and sit on the sand, go out for a really long bike ride and pay attention to your surroundings.

Being one step ahead of stress in the solution department allows you to meet it head on and move on without it derailing your desires. Have your tactics in hand and come to grips with your capabilities to manage stress without it swaying your ability to be successful.
