Stun Gun, Taser, Mace and Pepper Spray Laws in United States of America

Did you know that stun guns are not considered firearms. However, there are some states that do not allow you to carry them as a self defense weapon. You probably have questions on where can I get one or the questions below.

First, exactly which states allow or do not allow personal use of stun guns?

AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI, WV, WY and Puerto Rico

Connecticut allows stun guns to be used in homes only but is banned for carrying them on the streets or outside of your home.

In Illinois you need a FOID card in order to carry a stun gun.

Indiana requires a TASER license in order to have a stun gun.

Wisconsin requires a CCW permit in order to carry a stun gun.

A special permit is necessary in Puerto Rico.

Now what about pepper spray laws? Pepper spray and mace are considered a less lethal form of self-defense. Which is a good thing, since our freedom of rights allows us to protect ourselves and loved ones at all costs.

There aren't any one state that bans complete use of pepper spray or mace, just limitations on how much or how concentrated the spray can be.

New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Wisconsin, Califo
ia, and Washington D.C. are the only states that have some laws that affect personal use of pepper spray and mace. Which, makes most sense since you just want to make a offender flee, not cause physical permanent damage.
