In my line of business, network marketing, I meet all types of individuals. It is phenomenal to interact with such a diverse group of people on a daily basis.

My all-time favorite people to engage with are the go-getters! Those guys are just awesome! They light a fire underneath me every time I am in their presence. They are the type of people who wreak of success.

When they walk into a room, everyone notices them. They look like success. They smell like success. They sound like success when they open their mouths. Everything about them makes you confident that when they talk a big game, they can certainly back it up!

The go-getters are the people who I know when I get them on my team, they are going to become the leaders I am looking for, and they are going to forge their own course with or without me. As you can imagine, I salivate over these personalities.

The funny thing I’ve noticed is that most of the population is not the extroverted, life of the party kind of individual. The majority of people are average, every day folks like me. But, the good news is like the ugly duckling who becomes a beautiful swan, the average person can become successful like the go-getter type I described earlier.

The only thing that separates a go-getter from an average every day person in a business setting is one word: action. The successful person does something every day that is going to further their cause, their business and bottom line.

Average people tend to let others make their decisions for them. You don’t agree with that statement? I believe I can prove my point.

Does the average person determine the hours they work? No, their employer does. Do they decide what type of car they drive, they type of house they live in, or the kind vacations they take? No, they don’t. And I know that answer surprises you, but the answer again is their employer does.

How did I come to that conclusion? Well, based on what that employer determines their worth to be, also determines what type of car, house or vacation they get to take because the employer pays their salary.

I know a lot of people who would prefer to drive a Range Rover, but they are stuck with a ten-year old clunker because they already live paycheck-to-paycheck and can’t afford not only a luxury vehicle, but an average new car.

But, that’s not so for the successful go-getter type. That person knows that the only way to make their dreams come true is to go out and make them come true themselves. They don’t wait to be spoon fed by an employer who’s only interested in their bottom line growing.

The truth is that most of the successful go-getters we all admire used to be average, every day people. The only difference is they made a decision not to stay that way and they put legs on their dreams by putting action into the equation.

Success and action go hand-in-hand. You will never achieve the type of success you want if you don’t first do something. In business, success and action are interchangeable.

I know what I’m talking about. I used to be one of those people who waited for people to hand my dreams to me. Not anymore! I have chosen to write my own check in life.

Step out in faith, put some action to accomplishing your dreams, and pretty soon, when you walk into a room, all eyes will be on you!
