“A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don’t have a J.O.B.” – Fats Domino
With the world in the midst of what some are calling an economic meltdown, it’s no wonder many are reconsidering their careers. Even if your job seems secure, it’s probably a good idea to take stock. Is this what I really want to be doing or are there better opportunities out there? Is there a way I could bring together my passions and talents? Can I do what I love and make some money doing it too?
Ultimately, you’ve got to understand that staying at the same company all your life until it’s time for your golden watch doesn’t apply anymore. Flexibility is a must so don’t feel limited! And don’t feel afraid about making a mistake. Instead of focusing on the end goal, just focus on the next step.
“Time is that quality of nature which keeps events from happening all at once. Lately it doesn’t seem to be working.” – Anonymous
So, update your résumé, develop your skills, and talk to some people in your network. Do some research or take time off to figure things out. Now might be a great time to land the job of your dreams. It’s about finding something you can really come alive in. Open your mind and be prepared to explore new areas. I’ve seen doctors become accountants and lawyers take to the stage. Nothing is stopping you from making whatever change you want.
Remember that work should be fun and that it’s never too late to change. Instead of waiting for some sort of divine inspiration, pick something that you feel curious and give it a try. Even if it means taking on a temporary position as an unpaid intern, what you learn will be priceless.
“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men experience it as a whole. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” – Helen Keller

About the Author
About Me
I have been an active writer for over a decade and published my first book in August 2007. This marked the start of Varsity Blah, a personal development blog that has now received almost 250,000 hits from over 120 countries worldwide. This article is one of almost 100 posts that were compiled into my upcoming book, which was reviewed on Authonomy.com: “This is some very insightful stuff… The way the book is structured, paired with your capabilities of drawing great narrative, leads this on the right path. This cleanses the mind.”

Every one of us has an attribute to our characters that we do not like and are constantly trying to change. How To Identify Opportunities Everwhere
A friend of mine recently mentioned that a relative of his grew up in the gemstone rich Chiadzwa area in Zimbabwe's Manicaland province. She used to play games with some of the stones which were lying around everywhere. To them, these were ordinary stones which were extremely beautiful and yet of no value. It was only

Make the right decisions today
Around this time last year, I made a decision which today, one year later, is proving quite difficult to undo. Despite my initiative, right thinking, gratitude and all the self help theories, I still find myself tangled in the aftermath of that very unwise decision A decision made today, is like a tree that you plant.
