Stop! If you have published a book this information has the potential to explode your one book publishing idea into residual income you have left on the table at every book signing, talk, or workshop. How many times have you told someone you wrote a book and they proceeded to tell you how they too long to publish a book? You probably referred them to your publisher, or encouraged them to hang in there.

There’s no doubt people want to publish a book. The demand is high and even the big boys have positioned themselves to pick those fruits that are not yet ripe. If the big boys can do it, you can too. Here are some suggestions on getting started: look for print on demands who offer affiliate programs, prepare a flyer with your affiliate link, something you can hand out, post or blog about.

Don’t stop there! You can make more: set up a landing page about publishing. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Run an ad in your local newspapers: “Publish Your Book Now.” Small community newspapers are better and cheaper. Make up business cards with the same heading, info, etc., leading back to your web site. Since you have published your first book, you either know something about editing, or have made some contacts which can be used to assist your prospects.

Once you have everything in place to do business, email your friends and family to tell them about this new service and ask them to forward it on to their friends and family.

Now you are ready to start blogging about your new income stream. The blogs could be as simple as your jou
ey, the pitfalls, and how you are offering your services to help them to publish successfully.

You will need to tell them how to submit their works. It can be done through your web site, or as an e-mail attachment. Set your prices based on what it will cost in the market to get it done. Remember you can let the affiliate you chose do it and you collect the commission, or you can use the affiliate to publish the book yourself.

Once you collect your first installment, this would be a good time to look at incorporation. You don’t need an office, you can do it from the comfort of your home. There is no equipment to buy, you use the companies already out there looking for business.

My first submission netted an extra $800. Word of mouth created an income stream I never would have imagined.
