“The Leukemia is the body’s way of healing. I think we have to live in harmony with it (cancer) and not be so terrified of it and not be trying to kill it.” Wayne Dyer’s cancer journey has taken him from initial disbelief to a place of acceptance and love and, more importantly, at 71 he is living with cancer and feeling better than ever.

In his poem The Road Not Taken Robert Frost compares Life to a road in the woods. . . . Some paths are clear and smooth; others are bumpy and filled with obstacles. While Frost's poem encourages us to be bold, to take risks, and to explore the unknown, the truth of the matter is that, no matter ...In his poem The Road Not Taken Robert Frost compares Life to a road in the woods. . . . Enlightening quotes are the best source for gaining inspiration. These type of quotes are available in the quotation dictionary and quotation treasures. Enlightening quotes can be in different category and my favorite category is life quotes . The reason I love life quotes is because it gives us wisdom to make good life. We gain wisdom and life lessons without going through the experiences the wise person went through. So we should be thankful for them, they shared their wisd
This article is about Counselling and the possible reasons it doesn't work. When it comes to counselling most people I have spoken to believe one of two things - it is so helpful or it's a waste of time. When you delve further into this viewpoint it becomes apparent as to why they have developed these thoughts around counselling. Just so you know I am an avid advocate of counselling and believe everyone should aspire to be able to work through their issues - either on their own or with the help of a professional.
Kate Mossâ notorious quote, âNothing tastes as good as skinny feels,â has been a common buzz-phrase in the American collective memory for years. Although Americansâ body mass index has risen by leaps and bounds in the past decade, bean-pole thin is still the desire for many modern American women. This goal of being âskinnyâ is by no means an accident. Heteronormative ideas of how a woman should act, look and dress in order to attract a man pervade our culture from
In the wake of the BP oil spill, we face a major environmental disaster. Hundreds of animals are dead, and even more are in danger. It could take years for affected areas to fully recover. As cleanup efforts are ongoing, engineers are still trying to work out the best method to control or stop the oil. Countless environmental lessons can be gleaned from this catastrophe, and BP and the nation as a whole will hopefully learn from the mistakes that were made. While the focus is

Life is truly a special gift that should never be taken for granted. As we mature and experience the world around us, we often times let the outer world define who we are, limiting us from discovering our true potential. We begin to feel stuck, trapped and overwhelmed; experiencing circumstances we believe are beyond our control. Our mind tells us a story of doom and gloom. Sound familiar...?
Life will always throw us challenges that sometimes are mild but can also devastating. Being able to rise above these challenges can often be so difficult the only way to deal with them is by patience, trying to be calm and taking each day at a time. Yes I know, try telling the person who is experiencing these ...
Where does love come from? Contemporary science tells us that love is built into us. As the great researcher, Allan Schore, proves, we enter the world pre-wired to love the first person who takes care of us. Once an infant is born it works like this. When an infant sees his mother gazing at him with love in her eyes, happy neuro-chemicals flood the infant's brain. The child feels happy. He or she likes this feeling and wants more of it. This sets up an attachment to the source of this good feeling. Since the good feeling comes from mom, the kid starts to love mom.
10 WAYS TO BE BEAUTIFUL Appreciation Simply the greatest; a total body and soul orgasm. There is no state more powerful than when the volcanic lava of appreciation is flowing through the veins; sunsets around the world glow deeper and richer with the generous and benevolent fall out of gratitude. LET THIS BEATITUDE BE MORE THAN A PLATITUDE: ALWAYS LET YOUR ATTITUDE BE ONE FULL OF GRATITUDE. Feeling grateful is the purest of feelings. It has no hooks and no strings attached. It just makes you feel good.
FAIRY TALES AND SHAME The true cause of the problems in our lives is revealed in stories like Snow White. When the queen discovers that Snow White is more beautiful than she, she determines that her heart should be cut out. Mothers can be so envious of their daughters that they will do all they can to prevent the child’s beauty from emerging. One client of mine was shocked when her mother tried to undermine her new love relationship by suggesting that her boyfriend was cheating on her.
When I was a teenager, I couldn’t wait to get older and get out of school. Somehow, I believed that once I was “grown up,” life would be easy and fun. I’d be able to do what I wanted, when I wanted and go where I wanted. Guess what I found out? Life is definitely not easy. About now, you are probably thinking, “Well Judi, how long did it take you to find that out?” The answer: Not long! There’s no question that some have it easier than others, but all of us, at some point, w
Le Corbusier (born Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gris), pioneered modernism in architecture and what became known as the Bauhaus Movement or the International Style in furniture design. He was Swiss-born but later adopted France as his home and became a French citizen. His work as a modern furniture designer, in particular, set him apart from his peers. He was especially interested in changing the style of sofas and chairs. He called chairs, "architecture," and sofas "bourgeois."

One of the clearest signs that you are experiencing anxiety is getting an attack of the “what-ifs.” The “what-ifs” are what happens when you you try to tell yourself that everything is going to be fine and then a voice pops into your head saying, “Yeah, but what if . . .?” Recognizing that “what-ifs” are not true and are simply a symptom of anxiety is an important step in finding a solution to this distress.
You have a right and even a responsibility to be happy. Happiness isrna state of mind. Many people let life pass them by because they choose to be unhappy. They sit around complaining, worrying, procrastinating, and gossiping about other people instead of making the most of every day. They talk about the past and how it was “back when.” Some of them live in the state of “one time.” “One time” we did this and “one time” we did that. People who talk and think mainly about the p
Even the most successful people have experienced periods when they have been confused, disillusioned, and discouraged. Yet these very people have overcome trials and tribulations to triumph and victory because they have chosen the right attitude. When we feel discouraged and stressed; when life seems intolerable, even meaningless; when our lives are not going the direction we want them to go; and when events are taking place so fast that we don’t know the questions, never mi
It is up to us to open our minds to what “can be” and then make the choice to pursue it passionately. Many people are doing what they do because they think they have to do it. All too often, choices are made based on what we believe is the “right” thing to do rather than on what will make us happy. Each of us has within us a wellspring of energy, creativity, and inspiration. It is always there, even when we are not aware of it…even when we are tired, burnt out and just doing
As we have learned in this series so far, fairy tales are ironic. They tell a truth so shocking that it can only be revealed in innocent children's stories. 2500 years ago, in Plato’s Republic, Socrates said the truth exposed in these stories was so dangerous that they should not be allowed to be read by children at all! Socrates spoke about one of the earliest Greek myths, the story of the origins of the universe. In this story, Uranus hated his children so much that he buried them in the darkest place. Then his son, Cronus, castrated him.
The day Larry Crawford died was the day he was cured of cancer. Those were the words of my uncle at my father’s funeral on July 30, 2008. As we gathered that day to say goodbye to my father, I knew in my heart that we were only saying goodbye to his body. His spirit will always be with us, and the love he shared with so many will always be there too. Love is the only thing that never dies and with that in mind, I knew that his love would live on forever. I also knew that the
Many of us struggle with procrastination; you’re not alone. And you are not alone in thinking that it will never end. The good news is, you can begin stopping procrastination now. It won’t end immediately, but you can start the process now. These 5 tips will help you begin.
Today’s society places us in many different rolls. We are the friend, the spouse, the parent or child, the employer or team member. We change our behaviors and personas to fit our different and evolving rolls and responsibilities. Like changing our clothes to fit the weather or activity, we lock our true selves into patterns of behavior and speech that “fit in” to the situation of the moment. Like politicians eating tacos in New Mexico and bagels in New York, we are constant
Friendship is the essence that never fades with time. It is a relation that gets to be stronger day by day. Gift is something which brings smile to our face and happiness in our lives. A friend is also like a gift, it is a source of happiness and joy. A true friend is the best gift for a life time. A relationship which is loyal, trust worthy, understanding and caring is not less than a treasure. We should value our precious gift and never take it for granted. There are a few
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? A phrase we have heard many times. First said by Charles Caleb Colton, it’s usually used in an ironic or sarcastic tone. Meant to convey that while you are annoyed that you have been copied, you recognize the fact that whoever has copied you is ultimately paying you a compliment. When this happens do you acknowledge that you have been copied and thank them? Do you wait for them to admit to their lack of individuality? It’s a sticky situation.
We’ve come too far to ‘think old’...Right? The answer is a resounding YES. But we’re not all there yet. In the prime of our lives we felt age-neutral. We didn’t feel too young and we didn’t feel too old. We were ‘just right’. At least by our own perceptions. We made plans and worked hard through middle age knowing there would come a day that our hard work would pay off and we could retire.
The Mystery of 5:37a.m. rnWhat if you were awakened early one morning by the ringing of the telephone and to a voice in panic? It is your neighbor who claims his wife has mysteriously disappeared during the night. She was feeling fine when they went to bed and she had no history of emotional problems. She had never left like this before; he just woke up and found her gone.rnThen, shortly after you hang up the phone and sit there wondering what could possibly have happened to
What is social phobia? Where does it come from? Why do people have it? How can you get rid of it? At home, Gary told himself there was no point in going out tonight. He was sure to make a fool of himself, and he’d only end up feeling mortified. Walking out of his apartment, he felt like his legs weighed thousands of pounds. The voice in his head kept telling him to turn around.
When we think of exploited workers we normally think of sweat-shops in a third world country, where people work for pennies a day in horrific conditions. But there is a new class of exploited worker right here in the U.S.A., no matter how much money you make, or your professional status. This all-too-common situation is leading to skyrocketing levels of anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and children's issues.
rnIn life it may seem like there are many twists and turns and at times we feel like we don't know whether we are coming or going. One thing is for certain though, we are always in choice. We may not realize it but, in this life we always have a choice. In these moments we can either choose to react to a situation or we can create. Though it may not seem like it in that moment there is always a choice!rnRecently I felt very, very sick, and even that is putting it mildly. To m
ec: Before we delve into the subject of Intuition and how it has impacted your life, in all areas of your life, can you give us your definition of Intuition? I think there are still some who feel that getting in touch with your inner voice only happens in a smoked filled backroom with a woman named Mistress Sylvia and a crystal ball. TR: Well that has been known to work but there is a better way. My definition of intuition is that still inner voice within that we all have but have learned to discount. Einstein called intuition the highest form of knowing.
âWe learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it than we do from learning the answer itselfârn Lloyd Alexander Tutoring isnât something anyone dreams about. At least, I didnât. All the year I studied hard and in summer I had to work to earn some money for next year in college as plenty of students do. I usually work in cafes as a waiter. As you see, my studentâs experience was way too regular. And I was satisfied with it for a while. I accep
We are all looking to end our emotional suffering and solve our life's problems.
Worry and anxiety are caused by your emotions. Worry is a normal response to uncertainty and we all experience uncertainty from time to time; however excessive worrying will drain your emotional energy, interfere with your day-to-day functioning and cause very high anxiety levels. The good news is that excessive or chronic worrying is just a mental habit and you can train yourself to break the cycle of worry and anxiety. You cannot eliminate worry because you cannot eliminate uncertainty in your life.
The richness of life comes from our interactions with other living things. But many of us don’t interact with living things as much as we used to. For example, as I write this article it is appearing on my monitor, but on my companion monitor there is a screensaver. The screensaver image is of a beautiful green rolling meadow lying under a blue sky dotted with white fluffy clouds. The grass in the meadow seems to be leaning a bit, so I believe that there is a gentle breeze pushing at the grass. I see a few yellow dots in the foreground of the screen.
Driving can be really easy if you are in the hands of the perfect trainer who can make the lessons simple, exciting and fun. With the right guidance and relaxed spirit, you can be a truly fabulous driver, so make sure you train with the best! So, you own a new car and usually fret about driving it. You constantly have the scare that you may meet with an accident, and the various driving schools that you have visited have seldom helped you. Nothing can get you drive that luxu
Cyberstalking is a recent form of criminal behavior involving persistent threats or unwanted attention using the Internet and other means of computer communications. With more and more people going âonline,â the opportunity to target someone on the Internet is becoming limitless. Cyberstalkers visit chat rooms, discussion forums or message boards in search of victims. The range of cyberstalking can range from aggressive and hostile email, chat room bullying, leaving abusi
When we look back on the past – whether just yesterday or many years ago, sometimes we think, "I wish I knew then what I know now." To help find peace of mind in the present, try working with that wish in your jou aling practice. Go back to that previous time for a dialog with your younger self. Say all the things you wish you had heard at the time. The process is likely to turn up greater understanding than you expected, with insights into your present life as well as healt
I have come to the realization that our problems in life can be the very thing that ultimately bring us happiness. When we face tragedy, dig through our pain, and eventually come out of it on the other side, we are renewed. In a way, it’s the pain that helps us feel joy. I believe that sometimes God has a radical way of showing us what is important. There are millions of people in the world that have what we think we want, who are in rehab, prisons, and divorce courts. We really should be careful of what we wish for. “Good fortune” can have bad side effects.
Ch’i is the prime energy of the universe. This can be correlated to “the sacred fire” of the Upanishads. The Indians, too, located this energetic source in the heart. “I know . . . that sacred fire which leads to heaven. Listen. That fire which is the means of attaining the infinite worlds, and is also their foundation, is hidden in the sacred place of the heart.”
Other people, businesses and entrepreneurs who work in the same business arena as you are your competitors and you are theirs! I believe that this is a myth that is outdated and unhelpful for you to believe this is true. The only time someone else, becomes your comptition or you perceive them as your comeptitor, is when you do not have true belief in your own services or products. When we are lacking in our own confidence and belief in what we are doing, we will automatically perceive every other business or entrepreneur who offers similar products and services to ours, as our competi
It was one of those days when you felt like winter was almost over. The sun was shining, there was no wind, and it actually felt a bit like spring! It was not a day to stay in the house. So, we went for a drive to a friend's house. While there, our friend's mother came over. As she came into the kitchen, she sighed. She looked tired and discouraged. It was a beautiful day, yet she truly looked like we were in the middle of a winter storm. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Two things.
Everyone has problems. People everywhere, and for all time, have been searching for an answer to the great mystery of human folly and self-inflicted suffering.
To be happy and be single, you must first be happy with yourself. You cannot rely on anyone else in life to make you happy, the happiness comes from within. To start you need to look for the good in all you have, not focus on what you don’t have, which would be a partner in this particular situation. You must be able to meet all your needs on your own.
In case you donât already know, a comfort zone is the boundaries within which you feel comfortable. This can mean mental, physical or habitual or all three. The reason a comfort zone is called a comfort zone, is that when you step beyond the boundaries, you start to feel a bit uncomfortable⦠more extremely, out of your depth. You should know that those boundaries are set by you based on your past experiences. Within your comfort zone, you live the way you always do, stayi
WHAT THE TALES TELL US WE NEED TO DO What do the tales tell us we need to do to find our hearts and become what we are meant to be? What Bruno Bettelheim says for children is equally true for adults. “Fairy tales, unlike any other form of literature, direct the child to discover his identity and calling, and they also suggest what experiences are needed to develop his character further.
Charles Kettering, former head of General Motors, once said, “My interest lies in the future, because I am going to spend the rest of my life there.” That’s where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives as well. We are living in times of tremendous change. We must look forward and imagine a successful future for ourselves. “But,” you say, “I don’t know where to begin. It doesn’t matter where you begin, as long as you begin. Someone once asked Mother Teresa why she
In relationships, before we can be fully present for another, we should know how to be fully present for ourselves. This complete presence is the finest form of attention we can give anyone or anything. It is how we see (with William Blake) …‘the world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of our hand and ete ity in an hour’. It is the ultimate self-love. 'Self-love' is often mis-read as arrogance or narcissism. The phrase ‘being very full of yourself’ is not a compliment.
Yesterday was a day I will probably remember for the rest of my life. I had the very special privilege of attending the beloved King of Pop, Michael Jackson's memorial service. Approximately 1 billion people all over the world watched as we bid farewell to the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen. All over the world, we got chills as they brought his coffin in, applauded when Al Sharpton put all vultures in their place, smiled when Brooke Shields shared her sweet memo
Finding a true partner for yourself is not an easy deal, while finding a right partner for yourself you may come across a host of potential lovers who represents every sign of the Zodiac. Undoubtedly, everyone wants a partner who is genuine and truthful and someone who is willing to maintain the monogamy relationship by investing emotions and affections. For some zodiac signs, it is much easier to maintain the monogamy relationship than the others. I have tried to explain the

Are others sabotaging your quest for abundance? Interesting question! It appears there are many who are struggling to discover that abundance is our birthright even after a lifetime of searching. Moreover, for all the millions of brave warrior souls who are somewhere on the path to manifesting their divine inheritance (learning the techniques and the attitudes required) there is a double task. Firstly they have to acquire the 'mindset', to let in the affluence that they desire.
What should you do when your children or grandchildren are moving away from the family's tradition of Christian beliefs? A 2007 Barna Group study finds that only 63% of Americans ages 18 to 41 identify as Christian whereas that number is 77 percent for people ages 61 or older. The continuing shift in the trend points to perceptions that young people have toward Christianity.
In order to accomplish our life goals we need self-confidence. What is self-confidence, where does it come from, and how do we cultivate it? Mencius, my favorite Chinese Sage, believed that confidence comes from "ch'i," the universal source of energy.
Carpets can be hard to keep clean or maintain because a drop of coffee, wine or curry can give it a strain and dust and dirt can easily build up on the fur. Because of the texture of the carpet you have to pay extra care and attention to keep it clean. There are some efficient ways to keep your carpet clean and it is important for you to know the optimal ways of cleaning carpets. This will not only save your time but these tips can help to get rid of the most stubborn stains
Undeserved Forgiveness. Wow, those 2 words together are powerful! I believe that God grants us undeserved forgiveness and that, in turn, we are meant to allow the same for others. Actually doing it .…..well that’s the hard part. As a Christian, I know and believe that it’s possible to achieve this but I can tell you that it’s something that I have to continuously work on. And perhaps it will be a lifelong journey. Every time I think I’m getting close, I’m tested again and realize that I’m not quite there.
Recently, some friends are hanging around confiding to me issues about break ups, make ups, and some were asking if their relationship is worth pursuing. I came to a point doubting myself if I were in the position to handle their ques and give them advise since I had just gone through a major turning point in my life which I have already acknowledged as part of my uniqueness. And yes, that thought made me say to myself "I am worthy and I am good enough.." Why not??! I have been there and done that! I am in better position to help. That thought empowered me.
I was recently asked to share my story of courage and the first thing that came to my mind was that my story isn’t that remarkable. It doesn’t seem to me that it’s much different than that of so many other people. I would like to say that when I was out there on that limb and hanging on for dear life, that my incredible FAITH led me there and comforted me. And it sounds great to say that I had courage in the face of difficulty. But in all honesty, I was pretty much pushed out on that limb and I was scared beyond belief.
As women we truly believe that we can do anything which is true but we get lost in trying to do everything. We are trying to fill so many roles, those of our past and those of the future we want. For those women in the baby boomer era, they are dealing with a lot of confusion and guilt – who are they, what is it that they truly want. Many in that era were brought up with learning how to cook, clean, do laundry, look after the house, sew, look after everyone’s needs..... Our mothers did it all, even if they worked. So then we must too.
How do we change? Change takes one tiny step, but to take that one step can require a journey of a thousand miles. So many of us can dream of the life we want to have and the person we want to be. It can be especially frustrating when we get to the stage in our adventure where we acknowledge our problems and have agreed to do the hard work of self-cultivation and still find change slow in coming. Despite our efforts, which may include years of therapy, we may still suffer from shame and self-denigration.
Recently Charles Blow of the New York Times cited some studies suggesting that people between the ages of 18 and 29 are “moving away from organized religion while simultaneously trying desperately to connect with their spirituality.” I believe this is true for vast numbers of people of all ages. We find ourselves in a time when untold numbers are searching for a deeper sense of fulfillment in their lives. People everywhere are looking for answers.
This month a miracle occurred. Two of my psychotherapy clients fell in love. (Not with each other.) Falling in love is always a miracle. But this is different. Both of my clients are in their late 30’s. Neither of them have ever had a boyfriend that they like, have great sex with, and is nice. One is bringing a boyfriend home for Thanksgiving for the first time in his life. Now that is something to be thankful for.
One of my favorite Point of Grace songs (and my absolute favorite until recently), "How You Live," makes the case that what matters is not what you do or who you know, but how you live. Now, I absolutely believe that. In fact, I've recently given up my freelance writing career to write and teach others how to become the person they want to be, the person they were put here to be. Still, I sometimes find myself thinking, or even saying, "It's just not that easy." And it's not.
The strongest, most courageous, most enlightened people succumb to it. Coaches do it. Happy people still do it. Masters of manifestation slip up occasionally. What is the habit that we can't seem to kick? Complaining. No matter where we are on our path to glory, when we feel fragile, tired, lost and confused, we just can't resist it! It is a serious addiction that needs to be taken very un-seriously if we are to kick it. It is absolutely impossible to expand into our great, true ever-selves while we keep moaning about the tight fit!
My storytelling father always seemed to be able to hold our collective breaths with his tales of ghosts and the undead. You knew how effective his scary stories were by the number of under the bed inspections that were held in our house. I’m sure my mother appreciated it since my father ...
For thousands of years, people from diverse cultures around the world have passed on their traditions, beliefs, and advice through the telling of stories. These stories have achieved the following: • explained lessons of life • how to survive in difficult circumstances • why things have happened the way they have • and offered tales of great adventure, tragedy, or love.
They say its takes a moment to say hello and a lifetime to say goodbye. Tonight I sat in my son's room and rocked him to sleep for the last time in the only house he has ever known. The house that I brought him home on that terrifying, joyous Saturday afternoon when he weighed nine pounds. He looked at me for comfort as his eyes adjusted to the newness of his world around him. The house that provided him warmth on the cold winter nights, with Christmas lights and carols being
A few years ago I was up in Seattle visiting. I was walking down on the waterfront when a guy in some rather ragged clothes came up to me and asked for a dollar. He said he missed his ferry and needed to catch the next one. Before I even decided whether or not I would give him money, he held out his hand in expectation of the dollar being placed there. On some level, I was impressed by his resourcefulness. I reached in my pocket and gave him one dollar. He thanked me and then moved on to the next person not twenty feet from me who had just witnessed what he did with me.
Success and failure are largely the result of habit, the automatic ways you respond and react to what's going on around you. Changing habits which are no longer consistent with your purpose is one of the hardest things you'll ever have to do, and one of the most essential to the quality of your life. Changing self-defeating habits must take priority. You are living today with habits you must discard if you are going to move forward. Remember, bad habits are easy to form, but
Ethical wills are a way to share your love with family and close friends. Think of an ethical will as a heartfelt letter or legacy letter describing what truly matters most in your life. An ethical will passes on life lessons, values, joys, prayers, hopes and dreams for present and future generations. It doesn't have to be anything fancy-just a letter from the heart that expresses your thoughts. Unlike a Last Will and Testament or a Living Will, an ethical will is not a legal document.
What are regrets exactly? I think I’ve come to a place in life where I don’t believe in them….don’t buy into or sign up for them. After all, I love my life today. And the road I’ve traveled to get here has made me who I am. So yes, mistakes have been aplenty but each one has gotten me here, to this place that I am today that is perfect for me. I completely believe in the plan that God has for me and I know that He loves me unconditionally. I am where I am because of decisions that I have made, good and bad, and because of where God has led. It has been a long process for me.
Dougald MacDonald - a great writer, climber, and all-around guy - wrote a brilliant post yesterday about the tragic passing of climber Craig Luebben (http://themountainworld.blogspot.com/2009/08/no-consolation.html). In it, he discusses at length the commonly-heard phrase: "Well, at least he died doing what he loved." In his post, Dougald mentions the also-recent passing of famed alpinist Riccardo Cassin, noting that "Craig died young and Cassin lived to 100 and died in bed.
We all end up with too much clutter in our homes from time to time. The problem is, how do you get rid of all that clutter and have a more organized home, and life? Sometimes, decluttering your home can seem like a daunting task that you keep putting off because it is so overwhelming. The problem is, this is not helping, and you only end up with more clutter because you bring in new stuff without getting rid of the old stuff first. So, today we are going to look at how easy i
It's "back to school" season and for some people, that means freshman year at high school, college, or university level. If this applies to you, then one of the things that you'll be needing for sure is a laptop. Laptops come in various types and for various purposes so we'll be looking at a few things you might want to look at before getting one. No matter how many points we get, it is also important that you don't go in blind. If you can, make sure to see what you're gettin
With America at war, the United States is faced with a conflict that affects the lives of every citizen. Billions of dollars are being spent and thousands of young Americans are at risk on the front lines. People across the country are fretting about the effects this war will have on them and their families, businesses and friends. Certified Mediator, Jean Brasel, of Clearwater, Florida says, "When there is a state of general anxiety like this, it tends to increase the negati
The Problems With Today's Mobile Technology! Have you ever wondered what it would have been like if you owned a mobile phone back in the day? Today it is just commonplace to see posts on Facebook about where you went out, what you ate, and who you were with. Now that I am over fifty, sometimes I cringe at the thought of my parents viewing my past teenage antics on today's social media sites. But then, I think how awesome it might have been not to miss out on so many things.
Have you ever set goals and then not made them happen? Were these goals what you really wanted? If they were, then why did you procrastinate and not get them accomplished? When you set goals, be sure they are what YOU want. If they aren’t, then you might need to amend them. Or you might need to fine tune them. But be absolutely sure they are what YOU want, and not something someone else has tried to make you believe you should want. Then remember, you can’t travel in two dir
Touching is an essential part of our day together. In the wild, horses live in herds and stay close to each other for survival. Very social creatures, they tend to pick certain friends and engage in mutual grooming and games with them. Often forming life-long attachments, they’ve been known to recognize childhood friends after over twenty years of separation. From the moment of Lukas’ first greeting kiss, we’re in almost constant contact. I pick something up, Lukas nuzzles m
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all - in which case, you fail by default.” - JK Rowling Life’s all about perspective so before we begin, I’d like you to imbibe the following--there is no failure, just results. People who have never failed have basically never come out of their comfort zones or taken risks; they only did enough to get by and stayed on the sidelines of true success b
Remember the first episode of The Sopranos? In that groundbreaking HBO series, mafia don Tony Soprano finds himself losing it when the ducks leave his pool. When he goes to a psychiatrist, he learns that he has suffered a panic attack. What is a panic attack? Where do they come from? Why do people get them? Can they be prevented? What do you do when you have one?
Growing up I changed my mind several times what I wanted to be when I grow up. I am sure everyone might have gone through this. As far back as I can remember I always wanted to work outside the home. While some other little girls may dream of being a mother and a wife having children and stay at home that was not me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that I just never aspired to doing that. I even hated playing house. Not because it was not important, in my opinion it is
It's not so hard to believe that in the modern world, where the Internet is available almost everywhere, many difficulties can be easily solved with the help of so-called âlifehacksâ: from the simplest and most well-known like how to download videos from YouTube, to more unbelievable like turning matte paper into glossy without using a special equipment. The last one, by the way, is not a fiction. Be informed about how to easily laminate paper at home without a laminator
Difficult people turn up in everyone’s life from time to time. They show up as co-workers, bosses, friends and relatives. We all know when difficult situations are left unaddressed, it won’t get better. In fact, it usually gets worse. You simmer and stew until the situation erupts into counterproductive conflict, which could lead to others thinking of YOU as a difficult person. But what happens when you’ve been to the classes, practiced the techniques and addressed the situa
Ask any parent what they want for their children and they will say happiness. But what can parents do to insure their child’s well being? Imagine a scene. Soft warm lighting, gentle sounds. A close up on two faces. One, a mother, the other, her infant. Mom holds baby securely in her arms and gazes into her baby’s eyes. She smiles. Baby settles into mom’s hold, gurgles and smiles back. This scene has been repeated endless times.

One man says it really happened. At the conclusion of his medical exam, the doctor asked him if he would please call in the next patient. So, he opened the waiting room door and called, âMrs. Colchester, please.â Then he left the doctorâs office. Before a recent massage session, my massage therapist (Mary Rose Lam) told me how she made a horrible mess that morning. She accidentally spilled her blueberry smoothie all over her gray carpet. That left a big green stain. She was frustrated but told the story with a smile. I hadn't been feeling well and the story made me laugh out loud. It shifted my mood. "I'm really glad you spilled that smoothie," I told her. "Why?" she asked, looking surprised. "Because you just brought
Mediocrity Is A Learned Habit For most people the idea of having a good job, married with kids, drive a nice car, and retire after 30 years of service to a company is the American Dream. Creative living starts when people realize that by setting purposeful goals and make it a daily habit to achieve them, their lives will have meaning. They must learn that life is more than a succession of twenty four hours of nothingness. The major enemy of creative living is the passive scheme that people fall into, believing that they are meaningless particles in a huge world. And as a result, they become âwatchersâ in a world that passes them by. âIf we fail to nouri
By Francois Basili I just came back from watching Julia Roberts’ latest movie; “Eat Pray Love”. It’s the story of the writer, Elizabeth Gilbert, who, upon turning 30, went through an early midlife crisis. She had everything an educated, ambitious American woman was supposed to want: a husband, a house, a successful career. But instead of feeling happy, she felt empty and confused. She went through a divorce, depression, another failed love, and the evaporation of everything
Last spring, I entered a local hospital operating room for the very first time (as an observer), that is. Four times previous, I was wheeled in (as a patient) for successive shoulder operations. It was a remarkable and personally meaningful experience getting to actually watch the intricacies of this surgical procedure that repaired both of my shoulders and helped me regain muscle strength and optimal mobility. The truth is, I was hooked.

After its sweeping win at the Oscars last Sunday, Slumdog Millionaire seems like the movie everyone wants, and perhaps needs. It has all the ingredients of escapist fare from the Great Depression -- a populist hero who overcomes all odds to get the girl and the money. There's an added element of self-congratulation for the West: by seeing this movie you can see India without getting your hands dirty or offending your nose, and cheer it on. Cinderella didn't walk through tenem

During my youth, my dad took me fishing. My mom took me on bicycle rides. My dad shouldered me with a small daypack for hikes in the woods. He pointed out chattering squirrels. He helped me see my first deer. He pointed out a fox on a ridge. He hiked me into Glacier National Park to see my first grizzly bear. Later, he taught me how to paddle a canoe. My mother showed me how to press flowers. My dad taught me how to play baseball. The first time my parents took me for a hike
Last March, the number of Kindle downloads bypassed the quantity of Amazonâs printed books sales. Six centuries ago, Johannes Guttenberg terminated the millennia-long profession of hand copying with his invention of a machine that could print hundreds of sheets per day; another device displaced his in four short years. Things can change just that fast. Herewith, a selection of three summer books worth purchasing in print for your bookshelf or coffee table -- a review of con
If your bedding is not right, you will not have a comfortable sleep at night and your proceeding day will also not be good and energetic. An uncomfortable night means an uncomfortable day and feeling of loss of energy the next day. We do not realize that in order to find good beds we sometimes end up with a very stiff ma
Just because you canât seem to lose weight doesnât mean you have no willpower. Thatâs one of the primary messages Dr. Eric Berg, a nutritional researcher and weight loss expert (www.findyourbodytype.com), has for dieters. His belief, borne out through both research and practical application, is that the key to weight loss is executing a diet based on your body type. âWe're all different, like snowflakes, though we typically fall into one of four body types,â Dr. Ber
Itâs difficult to be present in the space of feeling stressed or unfulfilled. Yet the only way to realize fulfillment in your experience is to be present. Can you withstand the pressure of being in the moment even when that moment feels distressing or unsatisfying? That is the test which, when passed, hold

As I was sitting in the bare walled yet overflowing court room 7,000 miles away from my home in Colorado earlier this week, I was anxious with both the process of adoption in a foreign county and worried about the outcome. There were so many questions running through my mind. Would my son’s birth father come to court? Would he officially relinquish his 5th son after seeing him one more time?
The freedom that we enjoy, we take for granted. We travel without end from one city to another, from one state to another, from one border of the United States to another without thought of restriction. We can visit most any store, whether it be grocery, drug, gas station or food chain most any time of the day or night. Without thought, we turn the faucet in our homes to receive fresh running water at little to no expense. We sleep, we eat, we laugh and we cry without animosi

I was in a musical funk and in search of some new material to listen to. An album that would reveal a little more upon every listen. In the past, records by Wilco, The Jayhawks, Boston, Weezer and Pete Yorn had done the trick. Now, I was coming up empty. I blindly reached into the CD case and pulled out the first disc I touched; The Policeâs Zenyatta Mondatta. Jeez, this vinyl record had lived on my turntable for months when I was in college. What an unsettling and nerve racking feeling...the feeling of being lost. I have felt this lost emotion a few times in my life. It's interesting to me how no one seems to tell you that this emotion may occur, and if it does...it's okay. It is a natural feeling in life. Since I have heard so little about this issue I have often felt like I was a freak or there was something wrong with me. Being lost is almost indescribable for me. I wonder how to properly and correctly convey

Outbursts in Congress, cursing on the tennis courts, and grabbing the mic from a young award winner; everyone is lamenting our loss of civility as more and more public figures continue to behave badly. Recently Charles Blow of the New York Times cited some studies suggesting that people between the ages of 18 and 29 are “moving away from organized religion while simultaneously trying desperately to connect with their spirituality.” I believe this is true for vast numbers of people of all ages. Today I attended the funeral of a family friend. The father of two young children and a brilliant scientist, he was taken before his time by cancer. There was much to be moved by at the service, particularly the sight of his ten-year old son and eight-year old daughter gently laying tear-stained red roses on his coffin. But, the stark and poignant impression imprinted on my heart was the picture of the man painted by the Eulogistsâtwo family members and his best friend who

I recently read a story about a 4-year-old who loved to dress herself. As is often the case with children that age, she often mixed stripes with plaids and tee shirts with ballerina tutus. Her mother never knew what to expect when she would come downstairs. One day the little girl came downstairs dressed. She came down the stairs in a pink tutu, a pink and brown plaid blouse, one tennis shoe and one patent leather dress shoe. She had a pink head band, pink scarf, and a pink n
When the kidâs mom passed away I had so many emotions rushing through me. Anger, anxiety, fear, concern and sorrow were just a few to mention. I was not at all prepared for her passing. I had so much coming at me that I was honestly in a fog for quite some time. I never ever sat down and thought

If we become too fixed on the goal and the outcome, we lose the delight of the choreography that precedes.
I wasn’t sure of my beginnings or origins, but I could still remember that fateful day when I was awaken by the sounds of spades rustling through the soil above me. It was followed by shouts of elated humans from a near distance. Before I could make out what was happening, spots of light were shone on me. Carefully, they removed me from my resting place of a thousand years and I was finally free from the darkness and pressure. I found out later that my home was miles below gr

“There is more to life than increasing its speed.”-M. K. Gandhi Have you ever heard anyone say: “I wish I felt more rushed and my everyday decisions were more complex. My life is way too easy!” I didn’t think so. One of the biggest blessings in disguise for me that came from having chronic illness was learning how to slow down the speed of my life. As life got a bit slower, I began to savor each moment so much more. Many of us crave a simplified, relaxed, down-to-earth way
It is becoming more and more difficult to escape. Phones follow us wherever we go, e-mails ping and blackberries call to us with abbreviations as various TVâs bark for us to âcall now!â. Our garages are filled with more cars that take us to more places in less time than we somehow used to have. Simply taking a deep breath can, at times, seem impossible. Even less of a possibility, is finding the time to think about what we need before being thrust into the next item on

When I talk about making life changes, I like to specify that I’m talking about real change—permanent, lasting change, not a quick fix or something you do for a while and then revert to the old ways. The fact is, making serious change in your life can be a lot like going on a diet—you do it for a while, then you stop doing what worked, and you go back to the status quo. I know that it doesn’t have to be that way, because I’ve changed my own life drastically.

Cleaning floor is not only an urgent matter; these have threads and where all unhealthy viruses can hide. Whenever we walk across a rug, we have bare feet or slipper/ shoes. There is no doubt that vacuuming helps reduce dirt but this only deal with loose soil. So you are required to deep clean your carpet by wash it for a hygienic environment

Do you ever think about how your life compares to the lives of others when it comes to good habits and bad habits? There are always a number of studies being done on things like the amount of fast food people consume each day or the amount of time teens spend playing video games. The number of hours people spend on the web is another major question these days. If you take a look at a business office in any given location, you will probably see everyone typing away on a comput
Most people don't usually approach life as works of art that they create. While we may learn as children that we should have dreams, we are also warned that the outside world (called circumstances, fate, bad luck, etc.) may keep us from realizing them. These warnings, like a knife scraping against a piece of young wood, whittle away our slender sense of empowerment. My dramatic inspiration for investigating a different approach to living came, appropriately, from seeing the m
This post will be trashing out issues on how you and I have been living our lives, how we are living our lives and how we should continue to live our lives. Life is good for those who know the pathway. I must note here, however, that a good or successful life is not based on the amount of riches you are able to gather or how great your wealth is, but rather on the amount of smiles you are able to put on peopleâs faces.rnA lot of us just live life the way it comes. We never
Everyone in this world wants to be loved, but we believe it is something that we should always receive from other people. When we start looking for external resources, we begin to depend on them so much that it is hard to feel complete as a person. Speaking of the inside, why can't we love ourselves and make the world a better place from us through our perspective? Although loving yourself isn't hard, it is tough for many people to master the techniques of beginning to apprec

So are you enjoying the view from the top? Elevation in one’s life does have its rewards besides living above the smog. It is the freedom to baste in the beauty that is moi – the mind that continues to amaze, the body that struts its stuff and is adored by the mind and the soul that lovingly embraces the body and the mind as one. Because we are one fabulous package. So Step One found you moving on up to the place where we all belong – the top of our list! And Step Two found you scribbling little love notes to yourself. Many years ago a movement swept through America. The call went out to all who had the courage and vision to "Head West." What a picture was drawn for them. . . The West is where you want to be. There is land for everyone - for the taking! Beautiful. Fertile. Opportunity for everyone. Don't miss your opportunity to be one of the first to stake your claim! The call went out and hordes signed up to join the wagon trains pulling out of Independence, Missouri. As the pioneers boug

I just returned from my annual weekend at Rockaway Beach on the Oregon Coast with my best friend from college, Barbara. Unlike other retreats I take, which are all about working, this oneâs about play, self care, and delightful self-indulgence. Itâs about eating smoked salmon and tuna, sipping tea, sharing wine, sleeping in, poking around antique shops, beach walking, and talking endlessly about what matters most to us. Doctors say there is enough salt in one pickle to give us all the sodium we need for a year. Iâd like more years, and so I consume fewer pickles. But this is a story I still gnaw on over the years. It is a story my fatherâs mother told over and over. And over and over. When I was younger I thought this was just the malaise of her advancing age. But it wasnât. She was simply hoping we were listening. The story goes that two or three times every year in the midsummer, my

What is, that I seek? What is, that brought this thought or conce ? It seems my mind and soul are in agreement that there is something wrong? We have heard and seen too many stories of people going into drugs and coming out successfully treated from rehab. While the chances of becoming sober are high in a rehabilitation facility with the right kind of support and encouragement, things can always turn for the worst. Of course, getting sober isn't an easy process, and takes everything from a person to decide on not relapsing and staying like that for the rest of life. The side effects of the sobering period are so de
They say,âBeauty is in the eye of the beholderâ. And it is true. You can train your eyes to recognize the hidden beauty that makes every person special and unique. It is an exercise I've tried time and time again and it always leaves me with a positive feeling of hope and comfort. It goes like this: Try to imagine what a person would look like in a perfect world, in a world free from old age, disease or deformity. Try to see that person just as he or she was designed by G

All people are surrounded by a thought atmosphere. . . Through this force weâre either drawing in or forcing back. Like draws in like andâ¦we draw in exactly what we are in mind. Just the other day I noticed, yet again, that people have a way of being resentful when others have some sort of mild success. I posted this comment on facebook and was interested to note that many people felt the same way. In fact a LOT of people felt the same way. So why is it that instead of being happy for someone else's success we find that others tend to want to criticize, belittle, and reduce their achievement? That's not the popular attitude as projected by Hollywood.
Recently I had the pleasure of having world renowned leadership consultant and best selling author, Marshall Goldsmith join forces with the circle of entrepreneurs I am associated with. David had been my best friend in high school. We only see each other once a year now. He is on the road 300 days a year traveling to places like Tajikistan to help people with the treatment and prevention of AIDS. We get together each year to celebrate the ridiculousness of how old we’re getting and how long we’ve known each other.
This morning I attended a funeral for one of the employees of our mortgage company, Mike McPhee. I only knew Mike for a short period of time, but during that time Mike always impressed me. He was hard working, organized, positive, helpful and always had a smile on his face. He was built well, in great shape and lived a clean life. Maybe that is why it was so difficult to understand how someone like Mike, could leave work on Friday, go skiing on the weekend, and be dead six da
During last four years, my brain has been shocked, jogged and twisted. It has remained critical, and perplexed. As a paid volunteer, I have worked with approximately 350 residents. Did you know that it really doesnât matter how nice and tidy you attempt to make your life, it is absolutely rninevitable that you are going to make lots and lots of mistakes? This has recently been brought to my attention by the insane amount of mistakes that I have made lately. Communication mistakes, relationship mistakes, financial mistakes, health mistakes, and on and onâ¦.geez. Yet Iâm reminded of a great quote by a mentor of mine that will be forever branded into
Iâm free to think, speak and act in my own way and yes, I have the freedom to be wrong and learn from that. We live in a free world and it is supposed that we have the freedom to choose what we want to think, be or do. The reality is that we live in a very conditioned world influenced by the media. We tend to choose to do or to believe the same thing that other people do. It looks like we donât like to use our minds, we just follow the leader. The âfamousâ people are
Part 2 of a 4 part series We all know that cancer cells are mutated cells. But did you know that they can only thrive in a certain environment? To put it bluntly, cancer cells thrive in a toxic environment. Once you are aware of what causes this type of environment, you can do some internal cleansing and take steps towards starving the cancer cells through adjustments in your diet and lifestyle. This approach will help ensure that you are not unknowingly contributing to the growth of cancer cells in your body.
A crisis situation can occur without warning. Have you planned how you and your family will survive? Or do you keep putting it off? I learned through experience why disaster planning should be a priority in your life. I was working alone in a windowless interior office in August 2003 when what has been called the largest electrical outage in North American history hit the northeast and Midwest areas of the United States and Ontario, Canada. Everything suddenly went black. I i
I just flew on a regional jet from Los Angeles to Monterey, California. After watching the National Transportation Safety Board hearings in Washington this week investigating the crash of the Continental commuter plane near Buffalo, I confess that I was very focused on the pilots and the airplane. When I poked my head into the cockpit, I was relieved to learn that the captain had more than 18,000 hours in the air, including military service, while the First Officer had more t

The world is one percent what life hands you, and ninety-nine percent how you react to it.â rn rnA passage like this, no matter how cliché-sounding, helps you get through life. rn rnOften times, when our expectations and needs are not met, we resolve to anger and frustration. We donât realize that nursing anger hurts not only our loved ones and ourselves. rn rnNinety-nine percent is how we react to what life hands us. Improving the way you handle anger is really a matter
I think most can agree with the notion that fashion never really dies. We could say the same for beauty. Either way, you slice it trends come back around again. We see it recycled in so many ways. For instance, a trend most people never thought would come back⦠the âmom jeansâ. For some fashionable reason, mom jeans are back in style and thriving. The younger generation has even modernized the trend with a take on âmom shortsâ. It will probably remain a mystery to s

If you're covered by a policy at the time you're convicted of a DUI, your rates may increase dramatically or your policy may be canceled. If you don't have car insurance at the time of a DUI conviction, you may find it very difficult securing future cover

Few years back, we used to find crowded people in the parks, restaurants and in any other social gathering places. In the era of social networking, many people are living in the unrealistic world. Majority of the contemporary generation are more dependent on social media and most of them donât know how to expand their minds without using
Iâve been talking about a womanâs self-worth for weeks, and have been gearing up for the release of my book for months. I re-read my own words constantly, and am determined to follow my own advice â to practice what I so robustly encourage others to do. An important part of my message is that despite the difficulties life pitches us, and perhaps in spite of the mixed messages we get from societal âreflections,â self-worth actually emanates from within. Ultimately, i
Just take a few minutes to think about how you bought your skirt or how you paid your gas bill. You went to the bank or you just did it through the online bank. If you really give this some serious thought, you can find that our life is closely related to a newly-emerged transaction method. That is what we call âE-Commerceâ or âECâ.rn rnThe E-Commerce is a modern way to do transaction through network. Compared to the traditional transaction way, e-commerce doesnât h
In Feng Shui, as in life, certain factors or areas must take priority over others. In Feng Shui, the three most important areas of a home or apartment are: - the main doorrn- the kitchenrn- the bedroom If positive energy (chi) collects outside and flows into these spaces, youâll bring money and opportunities into your life. If these areas are affected by a lack of chi or negative chi, any other positive changes you make wonât have as much of an impact. This article explor

Although we are awake living our life, we are not always âawakeâ in terms of being totally aware of what really is as opposed to what we think really is. Everyone on earth is asleep to some extent; that is, they have illusions about themselves, people, life, and situationsâ¦even ascended masters have illusions and arenât always âawake.â Ascension has its levels. On this ascension path, you will find that you awaken, then sleep, awaken, then sleep, and this goes on
Living in the Dominican Republic, I have learned to get used to all of the the little visitors that often come in the night. I try to avoid thinking about them but I regularly see evidence of their visits the morning after and regularly, I cringe. I am a little (okay a lot) addicted to the coffee here and so as I do every morning, yesterday I leaned sleepily against the kitchen island and waiting for it to percolate. While I waited, I looked out through the massive windows to
It is a tragedy what is happening in our local school districts. The budget crunch is depleting jobs in the public sector at rapid rates. Collective bargaining agreements are no longer available in many states. If you are an unemployed teacher and your contract wasn’t renewed, I can empathize with you, I too became an unemployed teacher.

God uses birds to teach, if only we will learn from the birds ... doves .. eagles ... we can learn a lot from these "bird brains." Although there are more tha 9,000 bird species in the world, still blue jays do not mate with cardinals, nor do robins mate with sparrows. Birds have been known to cross breed, but only rarely and then only under specific conditions, and nearly always instigated by human intervention. All those bird species are genetically different from one ano
Globalization can be described as a process through which the economies, cultures of different countries have come closer to each other and have become integrated with each other. Rejoice in who you are! Because who and what you are is a gift to the entire world. How good are you about your New Year resolutions? Do most of them involve making changes of some sort to what you’ve done and who you’ve been in the past? That’s the usual format for New Year resolutions … and probably why they hardly ever work.
“When building a house of cards it is important not to let your own fart-storm topple it.” Livingston Ashcroft “Flip” Bellingus (1893 - ) When I was a boy of about 10 I did something that was not very cool. I did it with malice of forethought and with the intention to deceive, although I believed that a legal technicality would protect me from any consequences. I’ve always been of the entrepreneurial spirit. And as a lad I was a reader. I liked mystery books and DC comics.
One of the things I enjoy most about the creative concept behind Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and similar video games is the music that kids are exposed to. My teenage sons have become immersed in the music of bands from the 1970s and 1980s. In other words, good music. The playlists on their MP3s mimic my own. Music provides us a touchstone to connect upon at a time when so much else in their lives seems foreign to me. Another benefit to the resurgence in this musicâs popularity
You cope pretty darn well with the crises and emergencies of life. Somehow you get through them, over them, and get on with life. But then there are things that aren’t crises, yet somehow manage to irritate, annoy or aggravate you every time you bump into them. Things you don’t get over because they’re in your face time and time again. You know, like that ex with whom you had the misfortune to birth a perfectly wonderful daughter who you have to “share” with him since the d

House warming gifts are amongst the most difficult gifts to choose, even when you know the recipient well. Household basics aren't always appropriate and equipment is expensive. A bunch of flowers won't last, a plant means maintenance and salt and coal, while traditional, seem a little out of date. What's left? My personal choice is usually an art gift , an object which can be displayed or hung somewhere. Your friend can enjoy it and from time to time think of you, the person

What is This Strange Thing Called Chemistry? As a psychotherapist, I have many clients who are searching for love. When I ask them what they are looking for in a partner, they will usually start by saying, “I want someone I’m attracted to.” Unfortunately, when I ask them their reaction upon meeting a new person, they will almost invariably say, “I’m not attracted to them, or, we don’t have any chemistry.”
The FTAD Method Are you overwhelmed? Do you have too much to do? You’re probably not finishing what you start. If you have trouble finishing tasks and would like to accomplish more, “Finish Then Add Details” or FTAD. I pronounce it “ef-tad.” When you work on a task you should strive to finish it and then add details to the finished product. When I say “Finished,” I mean in sellable condition. This task can be any undertaking. Finish the job so you can hand it out, sell, per
When I First Met Phoebe Snow On April 26th, 2011 I read on Facebook that singer/songwriter Phoebe Snow had died. I walked into my hallway and stared at the gold record hanging on my wall with the cover and label of her second album, “Second Childhood,” on it. When someone dies we tend to memorialize the good only, but when I thought about my relationship with Phoebe my memories were more complicated than the typical hagiography.
We locksmiths have a variety of tools for removing broken keys from locks. One of the more common tools I use is made of springy steel that is 5" long, 5/16" wide at the handle and .022" thick. There is a small tapered barb at the end of this tool that will dig or "bite" into the broken key piece so the piece can be pulled out. It is not absolutely necessary to invest in a broken key extractor tool. As long as the tool you use is made of sturdy metal, is narrow enough to ente
âLife is precious.â "Life is often unfair." "Unthinkably horrid things happen to good and bad people alike." Trite and hackneyed as those statements may be, what else can one say upon hearing that a young mother, wife, daughter, beloved friend, and brilliant stage and film actress died suddenly because of a skiing accident? And what can one possibly say to all those who loved Natasha Richardson? If you follow this blog, you know Iâve written about this many times, and h

"Help me understand something. How I can BOTH feel guilty about charging for my services, but at the same time feel resentful because they are not paying enough?" This question came up in a recent session with a private client. This client, and many others I have talked to in the past two weeks, was having trouble valuing herself and charging for the value she brings. LUCKILY, her real self, the one that knows the Truth of her value, was also becoming more assertive. But sinc

Most house break-ins are not personal, though that offers little comfort to the victims of burglary. Ask anyone who has returned home to find their house ransacked how they feel. There are many things about celebrity obsession that I understand. I get the interest in every detail of their lives. I get the enormous volume of photos that are taken of them. But I do not understand why anybody cares about the pictures of them that were in their high school yearbooks. The details of a celebrity's life actually have some relevance, and that's why they're smeared across the pages of every tabloid and screamed from every entertainment magazine show. When the
When people say, “That’s just a fairy tale!” they mean that what the person believes is a naive illusion, a lie told to the self. But this is the opposite of the truth. Fairy tales succeed because they wear the clothing of simplicity and innocence, when they are in actuality deadly serious. Fairy tales are ironic. In many tales there is a character with a name like “Dummling” who turns out to be the hero. The stories themselves wear the guise of such foolishness. They do this because telling the truth can be dangerous.

If you’re out on date with a guy for the first time there are a couple of things that you can to do increase your chances of getting a second date. 1) Don’t go into the date with any expectations. Simply be present and allow the date to unfold. Too many women go into the date with the idea of finding out if he’s “the one”. That puts too much pressure on both him & you. Simply go out & get to know him. Over the course of the night he will reveal if he’s the type of guy you’re looking for and if he’s worth going out with again.
