The Mystery of 5:37a.m.
What if you were awakened early one morning by the ringing of the telephone and to a voice in panic? It is your neighbor who claims his wife has mysteriously disappeared during the night. She was feeling fine when they went to bed and she had no history of emotional problems. She had never left like this before; he just woke up and found her gone.
Then, shortly after you hang up the phone and sit there wondering what could possibly have happened to your neighbor, the phone rings again. This time it is another friend of yours who is all excited. Her husband, Bill, works the midnight shift down at the mill. A very strange thing happened there during the night and she can’t wait to tell someone about it. It seems that her husband and his partner were working together as usual when Bill glanced to the side for a moment and then looked back at his partner, the partner wasn’t there. Bill couldn’t believe his eyes; the man had suddenly and completely disappeared. He had everyone look all over the mill for him, but he was not to be found. He hadn’t punched out, and when they called his home he wasn’t there either. This was the strangest thing they had ever experienced, that guy had just disappeared, in the twinkling of an eye.
Then you share about your neighbor and you both sit back in bewilderment. After pondering these two strange, yet similar experiences for some time, you turn on the TV to see if you can hear any more about it on the news. Low and behold, every TV station you turn to is in a panic. The phones have been ringing off the hook since 5:37 this morning, the same time the man disappeared down at the mill. The neighbor had no idea what time his wife had gone. This same strange phenomenon had happened all over the country, and they are even getting reports in from Canada, England, Germany; it seems as though these strange disappearances happened all over the world, all at the same time, and all occurred in a split second.
What if this actually happened to you? I am going to let you in on a little secret; you are going to see such an experience come to pass in the very near future. No one knows the exact day or hour but the time period is quite clear.
Christians call this happening the rapture or the out-translation. They have read about it in the Bible. It says, “I tell you, in the night there shall be two in one bed; the one shall be taken, and other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; and one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.” The Bible also says that it will happen, “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye…and this mortal must put on immortality.” It gives some time keys and some signs to look for, so the ones who have a personal relationship with Christ, and who are really living for God, can be looking forward to it. These will be the ones taken in the rapture.
One of the signs Jesus said to look for was that nations would be fighting against nations and kingdoms would be fighting against kingdoms. This means ethnic groups against ethnic groups and countries against countries. What
have we seen in recent years? There have been constant wars in every corner of the world. Look at what is happening in Africa and in the Islamic nations.
Other signs that the Bible talks about are the great increases in natural catastrophes such as earthquakes and floods. One thing you will notice is the extremes in weather conditions. Records are broken constantly. Record numbers of tornadoes, record storms, record floods, record snowfall, and record cold, record heat, etc., etc., almost daily. Major earthquakes are so common they hardly get mentioned in the news any more. There have been tens of thousands killed in such disasters in these past few years.
We are warned, “when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.” Friend, this means you and I who are living today.
There is a world financial crisis, terrorism increases around the world. I could go on and on. This world is a mess and the end of this present system is near. It will soon be looking for a superman to get things straightened out. They are going to get one too. The Bible lets us know that there is going to be a one world government in the end. If you are paying attention to the political world you can see the pieces of this being put together. The superman will be the head of that government. He is known in the Bible as the anti-christ.
After the rapture takes place, terrible things are going to happen here on the earth. God is going to bring about several severe plagues. For example, just as in one of the plagues, the Bible says, “And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man. During those days will men seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.” It is time that each of us makes that decision to do whatever we can to not be on earth when this terrible time takes place.
The Bible warns, “Pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass.” The only way you will be able to escape this persecution is to be living for Jesus and be taken in the rapture. Christian when you truly repent of all your sins, turn from your old ways of a self-centered life and turn to Jesus. Surrender your whole life to Him and daily follow Him. Allow Him to make you the person He wants you to be. You will need spiritual food and fellowship. Find an active, Spirit-filled, Bible believing church as quickly as possible to help you in your Christian walk.
