The Purpose of Being Bo

Every reasonable person should ask, “Why am I here?” This is a question a man ought to ask himself before he embarks on a journey to accomplish his assignment here on planet earth. When you discover the “why” for your existence, the question of “how” to accomplish it is half answered. Victor Frankl asserts, “A man who becomes conscious of the responsibility he bears towards a human being who affectionately waits for him, or to an unfinished work, will never be able to throw away his life. He knows the “why” for his existence and will be able to bear almost anyhow.”
You are born to accomplish a task. You are born to solve problems, to put smile on people’s face. You are born to make people’s life more meaningful – to add more meaning to people’s life. You are born to leave your mark and footprint in the sand of time. You are born to make the system that drives the progress of humanity better, and moreover, you are born to make a difference, rule, reign, and shine. Don’t see what have been done; see what remains to be done.
Have you ever thought why you are unique? You are unique because of your unique assignment. This is one of the reasons. You have a special task that must be accomplished by only you, which no other person can do, because no other person has the combination of qualities you have, necessary for the accomplishment of the task.
When you are pursuing a purpose different from why you were born, you become suddenly confused, baffled and worthless. Do not live a useless life by pursuing the wrong purpose. Goethe observed that a useless life is an early death. Listen to Peter F. Drucker’s assertion: “There is nothing as useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.” Helen Keller observes, “Many people have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.”
William E. Gladstone instructs, “Never forget that the purpose for which a man lives is the improvement of the man himself, so that he may go out of this world having, in his great sphere or his small one, done some little good for his fellow creatures and labored a little to diminish the sin and sorrow that are in the world.” W. H. Auden sounded humorous by saying: “We are here on earth to do good for others. What the others are here for, I don’t know.”
Always remember that you are not just here for nothing. There is a reason for your being here. You are here for an assignment that must be accomplished. You are not just here to watch and admire others. You are here to act, perform, do and accomplish that which you were born for. Don’t ever forget this: You are a star!
