Fertility is something that is pertinent to every woman. If you are trying to conceive at the moment or are considering having a pregnancy in the near future, there are a few things that you should know about fertility.
Consider your biological clockr
Most men and women aren’t aware that as you get older, your biological clock starts to tick faster and faster, especially so when it comes to fertility. Fertility tends to decline as you grow older, and often even the best IVF clinics in India cannot help you achieve the goal of pregnancy after say the age of 40 or 45. This leads to women planning to get pregnant later and later in life.
Women of 35 and older have only a 20% chance of getting pregnant in any one month, whereas women who are over 40 only have a 5% chance. There are several factors that affect fertility such as lifestyle, environment and also genetics.
Your fertility can be hampered by an unhealthy lifestyler
The way you lead your life plays a very important role in you fertility. The unhealthier your lifestyle, the more negative impact it will have on your fertility. As you probably already know, smoking is bad for fertility and has been known to fasten the process of age-related infertility and possibly even lead to early menopause. However, if you quite early on, you may be able to reverse its effects.
Excessive vaginal douching may hamper fertility. When you douche, you are rinsing away all the good bacteria in your vagina, which may cause infections, irritation as well as yeast infections. When you douche, it could also increase your risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease, which in turn could lead to infertility.
Your fertility can also be affected by your weight. If you are overweight or underweight, you may experience trouble conceiving naturally.
Freezing your eggs may extend your fertile period, but comes with its own set of risksr
You may think that you can prolong getting pregnant for as long as possible by simply freezing your eggs, but it is important to understand that this procedure can be fairly expensive and rather invasive. The process carries with it the risk to to ovarian stimulation and the egg retrieval procedure.
In addition to that, there is no guarantee that the egg freezing procedure will show 100% results. Just like in the case of IVF, the pregnancy success rate is about 40% per cycle. If any male or female fertility factors are involved, this is even lower.
It is also important to remember, that the older the woman, the less the chances of success. Check with some of the top IVF clinics in India about what age you should freeze your eggs, the expected success rate pertaining to your current situation, and the risks related to the procedure. Also find out the cost related to freeze your eggs, the medications you might be needed to take etc and make an informed decision.
Your fertility lasts for Less than a week each monthr
The truth is you are fertile only for two or three days each month. These usually happen before you ovulate, but since each woman is different, there is no way of knowing for sure. The best way to conceive naturally is to have frequent unprotected sex. It is important to know that nature has created the female anatomy to be more attractive to their partner at the time of ovulation.
