Has your thyroid and adrenal disease been missed or mistreated? There are an estimated 60,000,000+ people today with undiagnosed hypothyroidism. Discover which toxic things may be affecting your thyroid and adrenal health. This is part 1 of 3 articles.
As with all things, don’t go overboard with all these suggestions. It would drive you crazy trying to eliminate every one of these items out of your life. However, you can probably work on identifying and reducing the major toxic offenders in your situation. Doing so will guarantee a positive result in your health. Why? Because when the toxic burden is lessened, the thyroid, adrenals, and all other organs have to work less hard to maintain a healthy state. It is when the body is overloaded with toxins that a state of disease results.
Here is a list of things that have or may have a negative effect on our thyroid and adrenals glands. Although there may be toxic items that are not shown here, please check out this list and see if there are any items you can take action on. Also examine your life for other toxins not on this list that can be reduced or eliminated.
Thyroid and Adrenal Health – Toxic Things to Avoid
1.Soy. Of course, you know about Soy Milk and Soy Beans, but Soy is also hidden in many foods, such as dressings and processed foods.
2.Fluoride. You are probably going to have this in your tap water, your shower, fluoride added toothpaste and mouthwash, so you want to get natural sources and filter your water.
3.Bromine. Unfortunately, for as much as it is used in our foods, bromine is very toxic. Bromo-Seltzer, brominated hot tubs, pretty much any processed flour now has bromine in it.
4.Chlorine. We find this in our tap water, and though it is great to kill off bacteria, it damages the good bacteria in our gut and interferes with iodine.
5.PFOAs and Teflon. Teflon and PFOAs are also toxic and interfere with our thyroid. These are usually going to be in either plastic bottles or coated pans.
6.Mercury amalgams. Silver fillings have 50% mercury in them, and mercury is not good for your thyroid; it also interferes with the T4 to T3 conversion process.
7.Flu shots and vaccines. These often had mercury in them also in the form of thimerosol, and even though many vaccines have taken them out, there is still mercury in some vaccines they give adults as well as pregnant women and children..
And that’s it to start - 7 things that may be serving as toxins to your thyroid and adrenal glands; items you can work on reducing or eliminating from your life to see if you feel better, or if you feel good, to feel fantastic. In any case, taking these steps now will keep you healthier and stronger for a much longer time, letting you live life to its fullest.
