There comes a point in time where following the instances in your day and evening in accordance with the almighty clock becomes so darn regimented and predictable that you can literally set your wrist watch to what you do and when you do it. Allowing time to dictate your every happening can be detrimental to your ability to work toward your goals and rushing just doesn’t help your situation in the least.
Being in a hurry causes more stress in your life and we are thoroughly aware that stress causes weight gain in women of all shapes and sizes. Our lives have a tendency to be turned up to full speed ahead and the pace in which we carry out our days is one of scuttling and dashing from one place to the next. Not only does our health and well-being take a back seat to scurrying, so do certain situations such as: getting ready for work, organizing your home and craft items, conversations, breakfast and being alone.
Here are some reasons why we should not allow the clock to call the shots in our lives, motives for not dashing and ways to alleviate our hastiness.
~Allowing time to be so commanding, especially when running a little late, promotes feelings of guilt and blame. Needless to say, it is usually directed at yourself and doesn’t make you feel good or enhance your well-being. The next time you are scheduling an event in your day be sure to allow enough time prior and set yourself up for an unruffled experience.
~Find time in your day to enjoy a little downtime. It doesn’t need to be hours or even very many minutes. Allowing yourself the pleasure of taking some time to unwind and relax does wonders for your continued ability to focus and bring together the elements for a calmer way of living.
~Take each moment as it comes and use your now time to accomplish what needs to be done. Many times we tend to be ten steps ahead of ourselves and our job at hand is liable to require much more of our time than expected. Live in the moment and reap the benefits of such.
~Practice the art of saying “no.” It’s perfectly fine to turn down a dinner date, skip a meeting or reschedule an appointment when you realize you are over scheduled. Remembering that it is perfectly fine to call the shots in your world does wonders for your welfare and happiness.
Is it time to take a peek at your busy schedule and look for ways to slow down? Perhaps it is time for you to take a few moments to downsize your to-do list and begin to enjoy your life and create a healthy pattern of know-how in the dawdling department.
