One of the most important things people can do to keep their skin safe this summer is to apply sunscreen on a regular basis to avoid painful sunbu
s. Severe sunbu
s generally occur at the beginning of summer when people begin to venture outdoors to the beach, pool, or participate in water sports.

Sunbu
s are agonizing and it damages the skin, too. It spurs premature skin aging, and in some cases, it causes skin cancer over time. Overexposure to ultra violet rays is not to be taken lightly.

The best defense against sunbu
s is sunscreen. This solar defense comes in a variety of choices which are perfect for the whole family which include children, adults, and mature skin types.

One thing to keep a special eye out for is a line which offers hypoallergenic formulas to ensure skin comfort while experiencing some outdoor fun. A top of the line product of this kind may offer a sun protection factor of 45 and above which provides fantastic coverage.

These formulas, for example, may consist of the following for various skin needs:

  • An oil-free sunscreen for acne, eczema and rosacea prone skin
  • A natural, non-chemical sunscreen which is water resistant for up to 80 minutes in the water which is great for children and water sport enthusiasts.
  • A sunscreen made specifically for outdoor sportspeople which won’t melt or drip into the eyes when sweating

While choosing the right sunscreen is really important, knowing how to apply it is even more crucial.

Skin care professionals agree that sunscreen should be lathered on 15 to 30 minutes before going outdoors. And be sure to apply a generous amount because reports show that not many people apply enough to protect their exposed skin.

And don’t overlook these areas that are really susceptible to sunbu
s which include the back of legs, ears, and topside of hands and feet.

When outdoors, don’t forget to wear sunglasses or a wide-brimmed hat for protection. And find a lip balm with an SPF formula since lips are at risk to burns and cancer, too.

Besides the threat of skin cancer and an accelerated process of premature skin aging, harmful effects of unshielded protection from the sun also include:

  • A non-cancer skin growth on the face and hands called actinic keratoses
  • Immune system struggle with white blood cell efficiency
  • Cataracts and pterygium (surfer’s eye)
  • Skin blisters

If someone unfortunately ends up with a sunbu
one of the best remedies out there is pure Aloe Vera gel. It cools the skin instantly while helping it heal.

More skincare summer safety tips include reapplying sunscreen after water sports or sweating; avoiding too much sun between the hours of 11:00 am to 3:00 pm; protecting the scalp with sun protection if one has a receding hairline or a buzz haircut; and, wearing sunscreen even on overcast days.

Although summertime means fun in the sun, keeping “skin safe” should be at the top of any list.

It hit me while I was having an inspiring conversation this week with a woman wanting to get a job selling mops like I do. After seeing my numbers and opening the door to possibility that she could also make 900$ a day selling mops, noticing her eyes glisten and sparkle as she soaked up every morsel of information I gave her as if it were the most important thing in the world, I felt inspiring. Then I realized that my 900$ a day earnings (although above average to many) could also be seen as a fart in a windstorm compared to someone who say makes 9000$ a day, or even 900$ an hour.
