nThe Children’s Museum at Yunker Farm is located at 1201 28th Avenue N in Fargo, North Dakota with a phone number of 701-232-6102. The museum is located in a house built by Newton Whitman in 1876. The house was the first brick house built in Dakota Territory. The Whitman family lived in the house until it was sold to the Yunker family in 1905. The Children’s Museum at Yunker Farm began in 1985. After a complete renovation of the century old, red brick farm house it opened as the Children’s Museum in November of 1989. There are more than 50 hands-on exhibits designed to engage, educate, stimulate creativity, and encourage interaction between the child and the exhibit, and between the child and parents. The Children’s Museum has become a unique and special place where parents can interact, play, create, and learn with their children. In addition, the Children’s Museum at Yunker Farm also offers a variety of educational programs, special events and outreach programs. Unique to this particular Children’s Museum is the home-like atmosphere.
