If you are involved in planning a wedding in 2012, then you will be involved in the decision-making process for a number of issues. One of the most overlooked things by brides-to-be in regards to planning their weddings is how they will wear their hair on the big day. Not only do brides have to decide how they will wear their hair, but they have to decide how they want their flower girls and bridesmaids to wear their hair, as well.

The good news is you have a little while before the big day and it's never too early to begin getting ideas for your wedding hairstyles. The one thing that you need to consider as you look through wedding magazines for the perfect hairstyles is what the girls' dresses look like. For instance, if you have a flower girl dress that features a different neckline than your dress, you may want to find a different hairstyle for the flower girl to wear. The same is true for bridesmaids' dresses. The dress will have a big impact on the hairstyle that you choose. Below are wedding hairstyle ideas for those of you with 2012 weddings.

1. Soft, Flowing Waves - If your flower girl or even the bridesmaids have long hair then you may want to let them "let their hair down" for your wedding. Long hair can have a very elegant look to it when it is allowed to flow free, especially when it has lots of soft waves in it. Of course, you can always have a few hidden (or decorative) pins placed in their hair to hold it back away from their face, if you wish.

2. Ponytails - Believe it or not, ponytails are in for weddings in 2012. Of course, these ponytails are much classier than the typical ponytail, but they are ponytails nonetheless. Some brides are choosing to wrap their ponytail up into a bun that adds height while others are choosing to add extensions, curl the ends and let it hang low for the elegant look they seek.

3. Braids - Finally, many brides are falling in love with hairstyles featuring braids. It doesn't matter if we're talking about a bun that has a braided strand weaved into it or if we're talking about an intricate up-do with several intricate braids…braids are in. The great thing about braids is that you can practically anything with them to get the look you're after. And, they look good on girls of all ages!
