THE FIVE PILLARS
Why are you on Facebook - do you really have clear reasons? I do. I have five strong reasons why I am on Facebook. They form the five pillars of my social media presence. You should think about why you do anything in this life - and the more good reasons you have the more likely you will use your time productively and to best effect. Facebook can be a boon and a benefit to your life and your life purpose if you know how to use it properly.
A HAND IN FRIENDSHIP AND NETWORKING
Here are the five pillars of why I am on Facebook (and social media in general) and why I would like to be friends with you if you would like to be friends with me.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER
1. To network with people who have similar interests to me – people who aspire to wholesome living according to God-given principles and laws. That means people who want to deepen their knowledge of religion – be that Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and other good religions. People who are enlightened enough to respect the good in religion. We are not perfect but we do our best to live as good as we can.
POSITIVE PEOPLE
2. To network with people who want to succeed in life and appreciate good literature and the words of great people. These people can come from the highest to the lowest in terms of social standing. They can come from any country in this world or even from Mars.
BUSINESS GROWTH
3. For business opportunities.
LIFE LONG LEARNING
4. To increase my learning and skills – in English, writing, communication, computers, technology and social media, among others.
OPEN MINDS
5. To meet people who will not look down upon me because of who I am and the way I look. People who are of the accepting type. People who can put aside or control their base nature and accept a person regardless of their looks.
BENEFITS AND BURDENS OF FRIENDSHIP
If you think you come within these five pillars then thank you and welcome. There is one last point – I believe in once a friend always a friend which means you have to be prepared to be with me for the duration of your life and in/on all forms of social media. We don’t have to agree on everything, we don’t even have to understand everything either – we just have to agree that we are on a journey and we will be in it together – we will be in that boat and when there are rocky waters we will paddle like hell to stop the boat sinking. Here is your paddle.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Good reasons empower. Think of at least five reasons why you are on Facebook. Work Facebook in such a way that it enhances your life and life purpose
