Weed Walk
June 26, 2012
“Can we go for another walk in the woods?” you ask. Good question.

Let’s see . . . Have we harvested and dried enough comfrey, nettle, and red clover to last until this time next year? Have we tinctured motherwort, yarrow, and St. Joan’s wort? Have we put up infused oils of mullein, plantain, and Hypericum?
We have! We have! We haven’t! We’ll go for a walk in the woods next week, and see may-apples and forget-me-nots, partridge berry and false hellebore. But this week we really must make some infused oils.
Let’s harvest what we need for our oils, and meet some beautiful summer blooms along the way.
Summer solstice is past. It is time to harvest what we have sown. Time to put by medicine against winter’s cold. Time to reweave the healing cloak of the Ancients. Time to restore herbal medicine as people’s medicine.
Time to enjoy green blessings.

We are adapted to survive mild exposures to radiation. After all, the sun is a kind of controlled nuclear bomb and it releases a lot of radiation. Of course, this radiation, and man-made radiation, can also cause cancer and a host of short- and long-term health problems.

"Raw Foods" is a popular phrase these days that is often misunderstood, yet represents a powerful, grass roots health movement. Some people shun the idea, not knowing what it means. Others embrace the idea, not knowing what it means. And that's no wonder, since there are many different interpretations of what it means to be on a raw food diet. Personally, I advocate a plant-based raw food diet. In other words, I suggest eating green leafy vegetables, sea vegetables, other vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted seeds, and fruit.
