Your greatest obstacle

When we think about obstacles in the way of achieving goals, what do you think is our greatest obstacle? Is it motivation? Determination? Lack of knowledge? Lack of resources? Lack of confidence? Lack of commitment? I could continue but I believe it's time.
It's not people because regardless if they are with you or against you, it's about you believing in yourself. It's not circumstances because you control how you react and deal with situations. It's not yourself because you can overcome doubt. It’s not lack of knowledge because you can get it. It’s not resources because you can find them. I don’t think obstacles as mentioned above are enough to stop you from your goal.
I believe it's time because the longer you wait to pursue your goal or dream, the less time you have to achieve it. See, we tend to make excuses of why we cannot start our goal now. For every excuse that is given for why you cannot start, I will give you a reason of why you can. There is never a right time to start. If you are waiting for that right time, you will be waiting forever. The right time is now! In a previous article I discussed planning and execution. If you are waiting on developing a plan, address as many questions as you can to put your plan together. You can’t wait forever. When you are committed to a goal, getting a plan together will be simple. You need to put in motion your desire to fulfill your goal. You need to begin now. Once you start, you can overcome the obstacles that you face. The key is to start. Time will not wait for you. So don't you wait for it. Time is your greatest enemy; do not let it defeat you.
When you find yourself letting time slip away, begin a task list. Start now and determine what it is that you want to accomplish in a year from now. Next, develop what you need to do every month to reach the goal(s). Next, set weekly goals and daily goals. You have to take control of your time. You should never be in a situation of saying “I don’t have enough time in the day, week, and month”. To overcome the obstacle of time, time management is the answer. Time will not wait for you. If managed correctly, it will work for you. Manage your time and you will find that you have an abundance of time. You will be able to do what you need and want to do. More importantly, when pursuing your goal, you will be able to defeat Time.
With all the obstacles that you will find in your path to achieve your goal, Time is the only one you cannot stop. You can control Time through managing your time. Manage your time effectively and that never-ending opponent known as Time will become your ally. Manage your time effectively and Time, who does not wait for no one, will give you time.

3.4 Protect your mind from shallowness
Some years ago I had the privilege of being a judge at a regional Miss America pageant. You probably know that Miss America pageants are not just about beauty but also intellect. Besides the various beauty related events, the contestants were brought before the Judges one at a time to answer any question we asked. One of the judges asked each of the ladies to tell about the most recent book she had read. Many of them had good answers. One of them replied, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.
