Good health is the most valuable asset you possess. Your success and happiness in life depends on your health. Make it your goal to keep yourself healthy and in good shape throughout 2011. Health is not only wealth but everything for a person who is not in good health. If you are not a healthy person then you cannot enjoy life or become a successful person.
It is easy to live a healthy life without taking medicines or visiting hospitals. People who are in the habit of taking frequent appointments from doctors are not healthy persons. Medicines can cure a disease but cannot make you a strong and healthy person. Only good nutrient-rich healthy foods can give you the strength that your body needs. You can become a healthy person if you decide to quit eating unhealthy foods. Major health problems and life threatening diseases can be cured just by adopting healthy eating habits and lifestyle.
The human body needs a lot of essential vitamins and minerals. If you do not get the essential nutrients from the food then you need to take vitamin supplements to keep yourself in good health otherwise you will fell ill. However, this is not an ideal situation or a permanent solution. The best way to keep yourself healthy is to eat a variety of healthy food daily. Some eating habits need to be changed. Eat whole wheat bread instead of white bread. Avoid commercially packed juices and instead take fresh fruits. Dairy products, beans, nuts, seeds and meat (preferably fish and skinless poultry) can be taken in reasonable quantity.
Don’t skip the most important meal of the day, I mean the breakfast. Get up a little early in the morning and enjoy good nutrient-rich breakfast. Your body needs energy to jump start the day. Eating doughnuts with coffee in the morning while driving or traveling in the train must be avoided.
Eat salad, fresh fruits and vegetables in the lunch. Drink water instead of canned juices or sodas. Take dinner at least two hours before going to bed. Don’t keep on sitting in front of TV after taking dinner. Go for a light walk.
The foods that need to be avoided are: white breads, cakes, doughnuts, cookies, pastries, commercially processed breakfast cereals, potato chips, buttered popcorn, fatty foods, ice creams, deep fried foods, and candies. All sodas including diet sodas, milk shakes, commercially packed fruit juices and fruit drinks. Limit the intake of caffeine and alcoholic beverages. Also avoid deep fried fish and fried chicken with skin and read meat. Limit the use of butter, eggs, full-fat cheeses and whole fat milk.
Eating healthy food is a must for keeping yourself in good health. Enjoy your food and eat slowly. Don’t eat while you are suffering from some kind of anxiety. Relax yourself before eating. Washing your hands and cleaning your teeth before eating is a good habit. Eat to energize your body and not for the taste alone.
Keep your weight under control. If you are suffering from some disease then consult your doctor as early as possible. Get yourself medically checked at least once a year.
