Who is that person wearing your skin? Where have you come from, where are you going, and what are you supposed to be doing in the meantime? In short, who are you?
Isn't it really rather simple? After all, biologists can define you genetically, psychologists can explain you behaviorally, sociologists can assign you culturally, theologians can classify you religiously, educators can measure you intellectually, employers can utilize you profitably, judges can adjudicate you legally, bankers can rank you economically, and your friends and relatives can describe you accurately, yet still you wonder who you are and why you're here!
Someone once said the two most important questions you'll ever ask are, who am I and why am I here? The answers are not easy to come by. If they were, life would be much simpler. The answers are not found somewhere on the outside of you, they are found deep within you. The discovery process begins by knowing and understanding that you are an absoilutely unique special creation of Almighty God!
You're Something Special is a series of articles based on one simple premise: YOU are absolutely unique. In the 10,000-year history of humanity there has never been anyone like you before, and throughout the unknown millenniums to come, there will never be anyone like you again. Indeed, You're Something Special!
You have a completely unique physiology; no one looks like or is built like you. You have a unique way of thinking and feeling. You have your own unique collection of gifts and talents unlike anyone else on earth. You can solve problems, overcome difficulties, achieve goals, and create your own future.
Each chapter will peel away the facades and confusions of daily life to help you discover the true and marvelous you. To help us get started on the right track, here is a little poem I wrote just for you. It describes what I will attempt to accomplish with these essays.
Only You Can Be You
Only you can be you, Only I can be me,
When we are who we are We are really set free.
So, let's you and I Do all we can do;
First I'll improve me While you shape up you.
And when our life's done We'll know we were true,
I was uniquely me, You were matchlessly you.

Death into New Life: When my mom, and best friend (Rachel) passed away in 2005, I was left dead with her. In the depth of pain, I never felt or saw anything good in her passing.
