Over 20 years ago, Mary started down a path to learn as much as she could to help her youngest son who had been diagnosed with ADHD. The pressure was unreal, including the push to medicate him after a 15 minute interview. No parent or child should be treated that way. And yet she knows there are other children that are being shoved into the medicated box we call “public education” every day.

Families deserve better - You deserve better - Your child deserves better.

Mary is different than many other authors and practitioners because she has been there. She was that single mom of 3 whose youngest son was labeled at the age of 5, after a 15 minute interview. Mary sought out formal education including a Masters in Complementary & Alte ative Medicine to support this cause. She continues to support the use of holistic alte atives in place of psychotropic medications. Mary truly desires to provide valuable information, so other parents have natural treatment options for their own 'Out of the Box' kids.

Mary Ernsberger is always looking for the 'light' in any situation and she can show you how to find yours. A diagnosis of ADD or ADHD is a clear signal that you are bound for greatness once your strengths are brought to light. Attention Deficit only means you are still searching for the one or two things that you feel are worthy enough to hold your attention. Remember, sometimes you will need to give your attention to those things you deem less important to build a foundation that will support your greater works. There are many ways to do this, including the use of natural remedies or alte ative therapies over the use of medications. Talk to me. Together - success is but a short distance away.

This morning I was listening to a meditation program that addressed the ‘need’ for hope with everything that is going on in the world at this time. The host quoted Maya Angelo when she said, “Hope and fear cannot occupy the same space. Invite one to stay.” As I attempted to follow the ensuing meditation, my mind kept wondering off. I kept asking myself what ‘hope’ really meant and whether people actually believed that to hope empowered them.r

How to get started

I believe my personal philosophy says the most about me:

Many years ago, children were taught to be seen but not heard. Today's children are growing up in a different time, they are different children. They want to be heard, they want to be involved in what goes on in their schools, families and personal lives. Why should we expect our children to hold everything inside? Why should we expect our children to behave, think, act and feel the way we did 20, 30 or 40 years ago?

Think about it. Would you want to have your thoughts and feelings censored? Sit down with a child; look them in the eye and then ask them to share their thoughts on the world today; then listen, really listen; you will be very surprised at the maturity level and intelligence that will shine. When given respect, our children will respect us in return.

The Golden Rule applies to children too: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
