Emotional Freedom Techniques®, is a natural self-help tool. Simply stated, it is psychological or emotional acupressure. EFT is based on the premise that the mind and body are inextricably linked. Your emotions are reflected and manifest in your body. EFT helps to dissolve emotions such as anger, fear, guilt or shame, that may be stuck in various parts of the body, causing dis-ease. Using your fingertips, you gently tap on body points called energy meridians (the same meridians used in acupuncture), while you are tuned into your physical or emotional issue. Tapping the body points has the effect of clearing any energetic blockages in the various meridians. There are amazing stories of EFT successfully treating weight loss, phobias, stress, dyslexia, allergies and serious diseases such as multiple sclerosis and diabetes.
Emotional Freedom Techniques can be used on any issue. My areas of speciality are; self-image/esteem, stress/anxiety, chronic pain/dis-ease, sensitive souls, trauma and underlying patterns and beliefs that may be contributing to health issues and dis-ease. But please feel free to contact me with whatever issue you may have. I believe the cause of many of our problems is a lack of self love and self acceptance. My favourite poet, Rumi, says this beautifully: “You are searching the world for treasure, but the real treasure is yourself ”.
As Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, states: the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system. This is the discovery statement of EFT, and EFT works on this simple, but profound, truth. Love is our natural state, which is why we experience so much emotional and physical pain when our energy system is disrupted. Try it on everything. You will be pleasantly surprised!

The Freeze Response and EFT
Wanting to get rid of something is a stuck and resistant energy. It is also the most common thing I hear when someone comes to me for an EFT session. If, for example, you have had neck pain for two years and it's not going away, more often than not, you'll feel frustrated, angry and helpless that nothing you're doing is 'getting rid of it'. This is totally understandable and you need to begin and accept exactly where you're at and acknowledge how you feel. It can be very difficult to take a moment and ask “Why do I have this neck pain”? “When did it start”?

Your Approach to Tapping
Why do you tap? To get rid of something? To tap away something? Because you are sick to death of feeling the way you do? Because you want it gone? Because you are ready to scream? Just imagine that a pain or dis-ease is the only way your body can get your attention. It is your body's way of communicating with you. The more you do not pay attention to you and your body, the louder, more progressive and chronic the pain becomes. Now, just imagine that pain is a feeling you had as a three year old. Imagine you felt rejected or unwanted because of something.

Using Emotional Freedom Techniques to Dissolve Limiting Beliefs
What do you believe about yourself to be true? Do you realise these beliefs are the filter or screen through which you are living your life? One of the best ways of finding our beliefs is to state an affirmation in the positive. Do you hear any objections in your mind? If you do, these are your true beliefs. Once you have identified these beliefs, you can tap on them to dissolve them. You will then stop attracting things that match up with these same 'negative' or false beliefs. Gary Craig's (founder of EFT) personal peace procedure (found on emofree.com) is very useful.

A Tail Ender is your initial (uncensored) response to a positive affirmation. Tail Enders are an excellent way to find core issues and beliefs. Whatever our beliefs, we have the 'evidence' to support them - 'the evidence and proof' are the specific events that occurred in your life. Before making an appointment with me, download the free EFT manual from the world centre for EFT from www.emofree.com.This will enable you to familiarise yourself with the location of the tapping points and learn the basics of EFT. During our EFT sessions I will also teach you the skill of applying EFT to yourself.
