Welcome!
I've been a professional speaker since 1987 and joined NSA in 1993. My past experience in the sales and marketing business world equipped me well to speak on such subjects as The Science of Networking and the Art of Connection; Marketing Yourself, Inside and Out; De-Stress Your Distress, 21 Days to a New You.
As president of a Dallas, TX based relocation company, my staff and I had the pleasure to interact with many major moves into the Metroplex during the boom days. Ericsson, JC Penney and Mervyns were just three of several hundred.
Moving to the banking industry to set up a relocation mortgage for the Bright Holding Company, my staff and I designed the mortgage and marketed it through the 34 bank locations across the US.
Today, I still present the above mentioned workshops but my thrust has definitely shifted with the publication of my book Help Is Not a Four-Letter Word: Why Doing It All Is Doing You In, published last year by McGraw Hill.
I've identified a never-before-discussed self-defeating behavior I call the Self-Sufficiency Syndrome. Many of us can't ask for help, do everything all by ourselves, can't delegate because no one else can do it as well and we're headed to burnout! I know - because it happened to me!
Four years ago, I moved to Hendersonville, NC where I'm enjoying the mountains and all the beautiful nature around me.
I love speaking inside organizations, at conferences and specific women's events of all kinds - to get the word out there - that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
Let's work together at this wonderful site to become even more successful!

Peggy Collins has revealed a never before discussed self-defeating behavior that keeps us from balance and happiness - The Self-Sufficiency Syndrome.
After a highly successful career in sales in the banking and real estate fields, Peggy launched her own speaking and training company in 1993. Since that time she has spoken to organizations such as Frito Lay, Ericsson, The Girl Scouts of America, The International Association of Administrative Assistants, The US Army Corps of Engineers, Meeting Professionals International, and many, many others.
Today, Peggy's message is the subject of her McGraw Hill published book, Help Is Not a Four-Letter Word: Why Doing It All Is Doing You In.

Leaning: The Key Ingredient For Dads To Bond
The other day I was doing an interview with a radio host that specializes in Dads. After we’d talked a while, he made this comment: “I never want my kids to know what I don’t know. They’ll think I’m weak.” That statement is an American as apple pie, isn’t it? Macho man! Never let them see you ...

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Peggy Collins
We have an epidemic in this country where many of us can't ask for help - do everything all by ourselves - can't delegate because no one else can do it as well - help others all the time but can't ask to have the favor returned.
This extreme self-defeating behavior is separating us from each other. Only through our interactions with others, can we truly know ourselves.
In my workshops, I explore all the characteristics of what I call the Self-Sufficiency Syndrome, what influeneced us to adopt these behaviors and many solutions to move more toward balance and life fulfillment.
