Closing the doors to my business taught me many things, but none of the lessons were more profound than this one…a successful business grows through a network of committed employees and loyal, satisfied customers. Entrepreneurship is not a game you play alone. It takes a village in the truest sense of that expression. So, I recommend you gather your success partners early.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t until after suffering through the paralyzing burnout that closed the doors of my product based business in 2009, that I realized this truth. I had worked around the clock in every aspect of my business, from accounting to product development, to marketing and shipping…you name it — I was doing it. I was emotionally beaten up, and knowing that I couldn’t be going through this alone, I felt the need to use what I had learned over my 16 years as an administrative professional and systems analyst to create something positive for other women entrepreneurs facing the same fate.

Hence, my brain child — Sprout Productive was born.

Armed with passion (which I keep in my back pocket) and an arsenal of resourcefulness, creativity, and guts, I built Sprout Productive from the ground up. It came almost effortlessly when I choose to tap into what I had known all along. For more than 15 years, I had been building support systems and began using my experience to consistently manifest simplicity and freedom for my clients — dubbing me the Simplicity Strategist.

I put my raw talents to use establishing smart, sustainable systems that empowered small business owners, entrepreneurs, coaches, authors and experts to (re)discover their appetite for living abundant, full and satisfying lives.

It’s a fact that you simply can’t deny anymore. You’re exhausted, overworked and can’t face another 12 hour day accompanied by a sleepless night. But, you already know that. Your mastermind group has been telling you for months. Finally, you’re hearing their message loud and clear. Now what? Where should you even start?

Get your hands in the air…The Weekend is Here!! If you don’t know how much I LOVE weekends then you don’t know me…AT ALL. Weekends are my time to recharge the batteries, annoy my the family and get intimate with my creative side. Now, I typically don’t recommend working on the weekends. That’s a major no-no. But, sometimes the “itch” to do something work related can’t be ignored. Before the end of the day, you just gotta scratch it. And scratch it I do, however, my work ethic on the weekend is wildly different than that of the work week.

As we sprint breathlessly toward the finish line, 2011’s holiday season is fast approaching. The hustle and bustle of the season makes it easier for our attention to be pulled in a million different directions. Family obligations take center stage and “slowing down” in our businesses comes rather naturally as we assume our clients, vendors, or prospects are pumping the brakes as well.

Undoubtedly, email has become an addiction that’s hard to shake. Remember back to when you could go weeks without checking your email? Now, if you’re lucky — you only check it a few times within the hour. Sadly of the 25 new emails since your last check only one is actually work related and not very urgent at all. But, we continue to check it frequently throughout the day. Don’t you sometimes miss the freedom of not checking email every 5 minutes? I do. For many of us, what used to be a convenience has turned into another project to tackle on the to-do-list.

Success is such a subjective state of mind. When you close your eyes and image the taste and feel of success, what shape does it take? Is it having a sold out seminar or landing a high-profile speaking gig that puts a smile on your face? How about signing on a big-box retailer as a new distributor of your product? No matter how you envision your success, if you are working around the clock and still not seeing the fruits of your labor it’s most likely due to sabotage. But, who would do such a thing? YOU! You are sabotaging your success. Ooo…I said it!
