Have you ever wanted to tap into your spiritual self and struggled to get there? This does not mean getting in touch with God or your higher power, this means getting in touch with the genuine you. The who you are, not the what you are. Once you try these 3 steps for tapping into your spirituality, you will see that the process is a very simple, yet effective one. 1. Center – centering is the act of getting in touch with the inner you. Each day, preferably in the morning, before beginning your day, find a quiet place and sit. Close your eyes and focus on the inner you. While there, take yourself to the most beautiful, peaceful, loving place that exists inside of you. Spend a few minutes there. Don’t be in a rush to leave. Take note of what you see, what you hear and how you feel. Embrace these emotions and then channel them into the place where the genuine you resides. 2. Take a leisurely walk – at some point during each day get outside and take a stroll. While walking, focus your senses on your surroundings. Listen to the birds singing. Feel the sun shining. Watch the children playing. Take in a few deep breaths and release all of the negative energy that has made its way to your soul. 3. Reflect – before you retire for the evening, examine the events that took place during your day. How did you feel at different junctures of the day? What was good? What wasn’t so good? While you are sifting through these events, take those that were beneficial to your soul and store them there. Make sure you leave the rest behind. It will take a little while to achieve the level of spirituality that you desire so it is important that you repeat this process every day. While doing this, you will find that you will feel better, know yourself more intimately, and most of all, connect with yourself on a deeper, spiritual level.
