Our language brims with words and phrases about the compelling power of the Moon in our emotional lives. How about being ~ “moonstruck?” When a person wanders around in a dreamy sad listless state, we might say they are “mooning” about someone or something. (Of course, “mooning” someone is something else entirely).
When the emotional side gets out of control and leads to radically abnormal behavior, we call that “lunacy.” So, due to the urgent magnetic draw of the Moon, we know that people can go crazy, and there is ample evidence that they fill up emergency rooms at the Full Moon because, among other things, we bleed more freely ~ after all, blood is close to the composition of seawater.
We also know that many men and women feel sexier during Full Moons. Isn’t the Moon often linked with romantic settings? Studies reveal more babies are born at the Full or New Moon. Yes, more or less, babies are born as tides rise and fall with the waxing and waning of the Moon.
As the moon attracts our Earth to her, Earth manages to keep everything in its place, except for the water ~ the human body in comprised of 55 - 78% water. Our human experience and our Earth’s oceans are both swung and swayed by the rhythm of the moon.
The Moon, in its cycle around the Earth, mirrors our daily experience of living. Yet, few of us even notice the Moon unless it’s dramatically full, even fewer recognize it's cycle or phase by appearance and location in the sky ~ and only a few of these know what the eight phases symbolize.
Though astrologers recognize the Lunar cycle as the archetypal cycle and know the meaning of the eight phases, most are drawn to focus on the slower Earth shaking and life transforming cycles of the more distant planets ~ often considering that our Moon’s 29.5 day cycle is too fast to offer meaningful information.
But, within the context of these slower life altering cycles ~ our daily life goes on. We wake-up each morning and go about our day and our daily lives wax and wane in tune with the cycles of the Moon. Moving in time with the Lunar cycles allows humanity to work in balance with nature, and this timing can be applied to business endeavors, creative projects and personal growth ~ with amazing results.
This is the first of a series of articles about the Moon and her eight cycles.

Dear Keith and Maura, Do you think it means anything if a guy you like at work happens to give you his cell phone number out of the blue, or if you ask that guy – joking around – if he can give you a ride home from work and he has a big grin on his face? I work at a grocery store ...

How Could This Be About Me?
Dear Keith and Maura, I just found your website and podcasts yesterday and they totally resonate with me. I am a very active youthful 55. I was widowed suddenly at 32 with 2 babies. My soulmate died and I was lost and devastated. I banged around for 10 years raising my boys, working and trying to find a similar loving relationship as I had. I met losers, liars, cheaters, alcoholics, and abusers.
