Looking Back...What Would You change?
Written by Sherry Anshara
Do you every stop and say to yourself… “if only I had known then, what I know now, things would be different.” But would they really? Probably not! Why? You did exactly what you did or didn’t do at that time, because you weren’t ready to anything differently. What you did at that time is what you did. Oh well! It is how it” was” then!
Don’t look back as though you did something wrong and judge yourself harshly. Look back upon those difficult times as only points of reference. Look back to all your experiences, good, bad or indifferent, as the growth opportunities that brought you to this here and now. Look back as the witness, seeing your experiences as adventures, no matter how awful or ridiculous that may appear now. Allow yourself to see the humor, be gentle on yourself. It is time to get over “it”, whatever the “it” is!
Look back to all those relationships. You can bet on it, that the relationships you had, even the ones that you thought would last a lifetime and didn’t, were the perfect relationships at that time. They showed you just what you were doing and just who you were “being” at that time. Sometimes those short lived relationships were your best growth spurts. They challenged your Spirit and your Ego.
Give yourself a break… look back and see how amazing you are. How strong you are. How resilient your body, your soul and even your ego are. See how even more amazing, that you got through the events and relationships and still continued to move forward. Even at times, when you thought for sure you were going “to die”, if the relationship didn’t turn out the way you expected it to be, you are still here moving forward. It is called evolution. Your evolution!
Now look back and see there was nothing to change at that time. You can’t change the past. But you can, for sure, change the future now. How? By not dragging the past, it’s relationships and events, that are no longer viable to you, into your future. Whether your future is five minutes, five hours, five days, five weeks, five years or five thousand years from now, make your future from what you know now. You learned from your past experiences and relationships, now apply what you learned. Do what is best for you!

Who is a True Guru? How to choose a Spiritual Guru?
Grave danger in uprooting a Guru Do not accept a known guru as guru, and if you do, then do not turn your back on him. Use a pot if you do not like him. The pot will not have any problems. What is the importance of Living Guru?
Questioner: If we surrender to the great souls that lived thousands of years ago, can that be considered surrender? Can we make any progress through such surrender or do we need to surrender to a living great man? Dadashri: You can progress even through Paroksha (indirectly- one not currently living). However if you find such a living (Pratyaksh) person, then your liberation will be instant. The indirect approach will give you the benefit of progress but there is no liberatio
