Perspective on a Positive Attitude

Based on the happenings in my personal life over most of the almost 51 years I have been on this Earth, I would say the major “life lesson" I have learned is this (as my motto states on my www.HubPages.com bio): "You create your Universe with your thoughts!" It's sort of strange in a way, because I don't really consider it a "life lesson", it's more of a "remembering who I really am" thing. I believe when we are born, we come to earth already "knowing" in the deepest part of our spirit, everything we need to know about who we truly are and the empowerment we were innately given before we were even born.

The poetry below was written over the years, based on my life and what was happening at the time. They were written from the spirit part of me, the "who I really am" part of me. My wish for all of us, everywhere, is to come to a place in our lives where we truly realize the deepest part of who we really are and that we chose to live that part of us in the most positive, rewarding, beneficial way that we can!

THE MIRROR IMAGE
The mirror image of myself is what I see in you.
The courage, strength and unending hope you haver
To overcome the things you lived. In spite of allr
The hurt and pain and all the tears you’ve cried,
I still have much faith in you; I too, have heldr
The pain inside.
When I look within your saddened eyes,
I see an image off mer
And all the things I see in you arer
Reflections of the real me.
I am not perfect nor do I know all things,
I just know the sense of peace I’ve feltr
And I know what joy it brings.
The peace I’ve had when I’ve looked insider
And then looked out and aroundr
And saw some others with the same hurtsr
And I told them what I’ve found.
I have inside, the strength to coper
And I’ve given up the need to knowr
Why life allows the hurts that it doesr
And I’ve also learned to let gor
Of the never-ending broken heartr
That I’ve kept shoved on a shelfr
And I’m willing to see and know and believer
That you’re the mirror of myself.

THE ANSWER IS INSIDE
There’s an answer for the pain we feel inside,
For the hurt and sadness we sometimes cannot hide.
We must search our heart and find the strength within.
The answer is a Light that never dies,
A Voice that never lies,
And a Love that lastsr
Beyond the end of time.
In everyone of us is ther
Courage to overcome,
The Wisdom to understandr
And Forgiveness for all ther
Damage that’s been done.
There’s Compassion for those withoutr
The means to live fulfilledr
And a Faith strong enough tor
Erase all of our doubt.
All of these gifts dwell deep withinr
Our soul.
They are there for the takingr
If we so choose to be whole.
So, remember when you’re cryingr
And there’s no one else around,
Just look inside your heart.
That’s where the answer is found.
For us to know there’s a purposer
In the very fact that we exist.
To speak our truth, to spread our light andr
To know that, with the freedom of our individualityr
Comes the responsibility of accepting one another as we are.
We all have a place on the circle of life.
We are precious and unique and at the same time,
We are reflections of one another.
Experiencing the lesson we learn in each dayr
Allows us to see we are personally responsibler
For every choice we make.
It is Life’s purpose to show us that there is a GIFT
For us in all pain that enters our livesr
IF we would only open our eyes and hearts to see it.
To be aware of our greatness and to choose evolutionr
And empowerment and integrity and love...
That is all that’s asked of those who standr
Within the circle of life.
