Barbara Wulf MS, GDCF, CPCC
As a certified personal/professional coach, I have 25 years of experience in education and career consulting. Whether I was teaching students new concepts or helping adults recreate their career paths, my mission has always been to support people to stretch and grow so they can reach their potential and dreams. I feel it is a waste of human spirit when people hold back and live life small and contained. It’s a lot like rowing a boat with one oar…slow going, takes a lot of energy and doesn’t get you that far.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling, am a certified Global Career Development Facilitator, and completed my training as a certified professional coactive coach from the Coaching Training Institute. I also am a certified ReCareer coach and enjoy working with clients who are searching to recreate their career/lifepath in the second-half-of-life or looking for an encore. As an experienced resume writier, I can also assist clients with a "killer" resume. I coach my clients to gain personal growth with clarity and focus, redesign their lives, and create life purpose with intention, clarity and action.
I have worked as a an educator and career development counselor in public education and higher education. As a coach, speaker, and writer...I enjoy helping my clients gain gain clarity, focus and momentum to achieve the results they want.

ReCareer in the second-half of life
Ah, Spring! Time for renewal, regrowth, ReCareer. ReCareer? What’s that about? ReCareering is about finding authentic work in the second half of life. I decided to learn more about the process of recareering recently with Richard P. Johnson PhD, author of ReCareer, Finding Your Authentic Work along with a ReCareering assessment. We are still finding ourselves in the aftershock of the recession of 2008. People are continuing to look for work, create new opportunities and wait for momentum in the hiring cycle. We know some positions will return. Others will not.

Women as Entrepreneurs
It’s been said that women are the Mothers of Invention. Nothing could be truer as we see an increasing number of women as entrepreneurs in today’s workplace. At a website for entrepreneurial women, www.entwomen.com, they state “a laptop, a bathrobe, and a cup o’Joe – what else do you need?” Well, it sounds good, but speaking from personal experience, it’s not quite that simple. Ask any woman who has her own business or is doing a business startup. What motivates a woman to consider entrepreneurship?

Ice Cream Flavors at Work
It’s been a long day—started at 7:00 a.m. and finished at 5:30 p.m. My day? Helping human resources at a Fortune 500 company with notifications for the downsizing of production and salaried workers. So, how was your day? Some of us have had a day like this. Maybe you were notified once upon a time or recently notified—downsized, excessed, terminated or fired. No matter what it is called, there is a loss. The company lost you along with your skills, education, leadership, ideas, etc.

Songs of Working for a Living
It’s been over 30 years since Johnny Paycheck sang, Take This Job and Shove It. You know, “Take this job and shove it, I ain’t working here no more.” To rewrite the lyrics for today, we might sing…”I’ll take any job.” Or, “Take this job and shove it, oops…just kidding.” Wow, what a difference a recession can make. Maybe we haven’t had it as tough as the country hit implies, but time off gives us time to ourselves, time to reflect on the job we had.

Branding…Is it for You?
The term of “branding” has been around for a while especially in the marketing world. We know that branding isn’t just for ranchers and cowboys anymore. The Circle K ranch branded their cattle for ownership identification. Likewise, large companies established brands over the years for name recognition, products, and services. It might be the name of the company or product such as AT&T, 3M’s Scotch Magic Tape™ or Kleenex® by Kimberly-Clark. When we see the golden arches, we think McDonald’s.
