First lets look at what the thyroid does for you physically, with this excerpt from http://www.emedicinehealth.com/thyroid_problems/article_em.htm: "The thyroid gland is located on the front part of the neck below the thyroid cartilage (Adam’s apple). The gland produces thyroid hormones, which regulate body metabolism. Thyroid hormones are important in regulating body energy, the body’s use of other hormones and vitamins, and the growth and maturation of body tissues.

What intrigued me about this question from one of my readers is that if indeed the inquirer is asking about teeth, as opposed to gums or nerves, many of us have some misconceptions about bones being rigid and permanent once we become adults. If they are rigid and fixed, we might wonder if there is anything natural we can do to heal them. First let’s look at what bones need physically in order to be healthy and then we’ll look at the metaphysical nature of decaying teeth.
Are emotional hungers – ones you may not even be aware of – driving you to make choices based on emotional need instead of what’s actually best for you? If so, what kind of consequences might you expect, and what constructive steps can you take? Emotional Hunger
Someone recently asked me, “As an intuitive, how do you make decisions about what medical or healing care to receive? When I’m not feeling well or I’ve had an injury, I just go to the doctor. How do you figure out what to do?” No one had ever asked me that question. I really had to think about it. I made an agreement with Spirit many years ago that I would continue to strengthen my sound healing gift for the service of others. In return I expected that when I needed healing or medical help it would be obvious to me and the right help would be there at the right time.
I refer to it as an aura camera on steroids. Reading 40 separate points around the body, including the chakras, with 15 different colors for more detail and easier interpretation as to what is going on both physically and spiritually. WHAT IF YOU COULD SEE YOUR AURA? WITH THE RFI...YOU CAN DO JUST THAT * What if you could look at an image like an exte al MRI, that will tell you if your energy is imbalanced? * What if you could see an image of what your energy looks like be
We have many past lives and one of the purposes, in our present lifetime, is to clear the Karma associated with these past lives. Generally, ‘symptoms’ or ‘events’ in our life will signify a specific past life that is presenting - to be cleared.
I have overcome my 17-year eating and digestive problems by fasting. This article is to share my thoughts with people suffering from similar problems. Our world is flooding with food â breakfast buffet, lunch buffet, dinner buffet, tea buffet, dessert buffet and so on. Together with our fast-pace lifestyle and stress, many are suffering from digestive problems to certain extent, such as indigestion, fullness, heartburn, constipation etc. Fasting is one of the cheapest, easi
Tao is the source of all universes. Tao creates One. In fact, Tao is One and One is Tao. One creates Two. Two is Heaven and Earth, yang and yin. Heaven and Earth interact to produce all souls and all things in all universes, but they all come from Tao. To study and practice Tao is advanced soul study and practice. It is most important to understand that everything has a Tao. I explained above the Tao of eating, the Tao of sleeping, and the Tao of soul healing. In fact, there
1. Qi Before any scientific investigation of Qi, the concept of Qi and its properties in Chinese philosophy must be known, in order to judge how closely any modern scientific interpretation fits. Qi is a fundamental concept or terminology in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with multiple levels of meanings. If you read enough in TCM, you would find that TCM seems to use “qi” to describe almost all invisible forces that affect human lives and health. More specifically, Qi
Want to discover how you can ‘Shine your Light’ brighter and reach your full potential as a Healer or Lightworker? As a professional healer I am often approached by other healers wanting to find ways to heal their own wounds and self-imposed limitations, so that they can ‘step out of their own way’ and really get on with using their healing gifts and knowledge for the benefit of each other, humanity and the planet. I have observed 5 key areas that healers and lightworkers need to address to reach their full potential and do their healing work at a much higher vibration.
My healing took a huge leap forward when I discovered that my own sounds could heal. So one of the first skills I teach new sound healers to develop is the ability to sound their feelings. Why?
It's that time of year again... ...you're going to be bombarded with a boatload of viruses and germs. Your runny-nosed toddler will want to be held … your sick co-worker will blow his nose and then sit down to use your computer without washing his hands … and a complete stranger will have a coughing fit all over you on the bus. It's almost inevitable … you're going to end up getting sick. And the statistics agree. Researchers say that you can look forward to suffering with
As someone that has provided healing support and readings to empaths for several years, I've discovered that not all empaths are alike. The way empaths process their empathic responses are different, and what they need to do to remain balanced mentally, physically and emotionally also vary. There is certainly some similarity in the very nature of being empathic, but I’ve been amazed at the unique ways in which empaths need to be present with their compassionate nature.
The year 2012 is a universal event and it has been credited with being the time of a great shift in consciousness for humanity. But are we really able to predict what will happen on 21st December 2012? The Solstice on December 21, 2012 - precisely at 11:11 AM GMT - is purportedly the completion of the 5,125 year Great Cycle of the Ancient Mayan Long Count Calendar. Furthermore, it is thought to coincide with the end of a 26,000 year cycle and, perhaps, that of a greater (4 x 26000) 104,000 year cycle.
How many times do you just wolf-down your meal in a mad rush to finish before getting back to work? How many times are you eating out of obligation to just eat? How many times do you see undigested food in your stool? Gross, I know! Do you have food allergies? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questons it is likely you need to retrain yourself in how to eat on purpose. 1. Maintain regular and consistent mealtimes. It is better to eat five smaller meals than three large meals.
Question of why some people heal, while others do not is not only interesting, but also very complex. When you begin to think about it and evaluate the reasons, it brings us to the path of discovering what true holistic approach to healing means. It helps us see why such an approach is so important. We must not neglect neither of its parts especially the spiritual element.
We need to increase our energy on a daily basis. By strengthening our internal power, we will give our body and mind the ability to heal and protect us from our chaotic world. Qigong is a simple technique of deep breathing and slow balanced movement that will increase your energy and give you a sense of peace and balance. So many people think that body work and massage are a luxury and therefore, unaffordable. That is not the case. Qigong is important for your health and wel
Some of the most significant feelings we have that can keep us trapped in our pain include, regret, guilt, and shame. Many of us have an easier time forgiving someone else than we do ourselves. If we don’t transform these feelings they easily lead to depression and even serious illnesses.
One of the first things you need to do when you are choosing to fully engage in a self-healing practice is to quiet your body and mind, bringing your body into a relaxed state that allows healing to occur. Getting to this relaxed state is the challenge and the opportunity. As I discuss at greater length in my book, The Root of All Healing, you cannot heal by will alone. In other words, you can’t make healing happen. You open to healing by allowing it to happen.
A Best Practices in Energy Healing article from Healing Toolbox Everyone reading this has more natural, built-in senses we can make more and better use of. Why don’t we have full use of all our senses? Cultural blinders put on us as children, learned thru osmosis, thru cultural conditioning, told us what to feel and how much to feel, what to see and how much to see, what to listen to and how much to listen. To the degree our cultural blinders reduce the openness of sensory channels babies come into the world with, “cultural blinders” are also “tunnel vision” imposed on our senses.

Patchouli oil is not necessarily popular among masses. However, this essential oil is valuable in both skin care as well as perfumery. It is steam distilled from Pogostemon patchouli herb, which is tender upright with spikes of white flowers that are purple tinted. You will find lots of these plants in Indonesia. The hippy fragrance of 1960âs was dominated by use of patchouli oil. At that time patchouli as mainly used as a substitute for water and soap. It was often referre
Create Miracles with Just Two Questions “Be present in the moment. Miracles can only happen in the now.” I have been asked many times, “Is it really possible to create miracles using just two questions?” The answer is a definite yes—if you are asking the right two questions. It is not only possible, but combining these two questions with any healing technique almost guarantees that you will start seeing miracles in your life.
In order to keep ourselves in good energetic balance as healers we need to develop a daily routine for keeping ourselves centered and grounded.
The biggest challenge in treating Chlamydia has been the Chlamydia trachomatis bacteriumâs ability to mutate with drug-resistant strains. Modern Nosode Therapy has met with tremendous success in ending relapses. Instead of killing the bacteria directly, nosodes coax the body to develop specific immunity to the bacteria. What is Chlamydiasis? Chlamydiasis is a sexually transmitted bacterial infection. It can also be transmitted from mother to child during vaginal birth. It i
Thai massage is part of a family of Asian healing arts – Japanese Shiatsu, Chinese Tui Na, Indian Yoga Therapy. They all share common elements which distinguish them from Western Swedish massage. • They are performed fully clothed, generally no oil is used. Therefore the technique has to be different from oil massage. Instead of long massaging strokes, pressure is applied by thumbs, hands, knees, forearms or feet.
Cycle of fulfillment, how we get our needs met How we nourish ourselves and get our needs met Cycle of fulfillment from Body-Mind Centering: Yield > push > reach > take hold (grab) > and pull in
In your healing journey, you may have heard about the importance of quieting your mind in order to receive intuitive insights and guidance to assist you in your healing. But if you have never meditated before, the thought of doing so can be overwhelming. And if you have ever sat down to meditate, only to become agitated and frustrated, as you experience the turbulent chatter of your mind and a body that it not used to being still, you may not be anxious to utilize quiet contemplation as a healing approach.
Do you consider yourself a spiritually-connected person? I do, and yet I sometimes find myself falling short of caring for my physical body in a way that best serves me. I skip breakfast or the morning workout so I can cram in one more errand on the way to work; I commit to more tha I can comfortably deliver and end up short-changing my time for spiritual practices and meditation that I need to rejuvenate myself; or I eat too fast or don’t get enough sleep because someone I care about needs me.
There have been many illustrations of chakras drawn by clairvoyants with ‘inner sight’, and by artists relying on descriptions from clairvoyants. Following article will outline chakra illustrations including descriptions and the healing property of each colour. On the physical plane of existence, where colours are dulled because of the lower vibration experienced on this Plane, it would be very difficult to reproduce the chakra colours accurately as they are so vivid and bright in comparison.
Health and beauty of our skin is a very popular and important topic. There is an abundance of information and variety of advice on the topic of nurturing and creating a healthy, smooth, beautiful skin on your face and body. Market appears to be overcrowded with "miracle" creams, lotions, oils, and sprays and much confusion appears to be created about the whole subject. Often we wonder where do we even begin. The first and most important thing to realize and understand is that healthy skin begins on the inside.
Muscular pains or tension have sounds. When you know the physical pain is associated with emotional pain, the physical pain can release when you honor the physical stress with sound. This can be very challenging for those of us taught to only make “nice” sounds. But discomfort is not particularly nice, and like most things in life, it likes to be recognized as it is, without being forced to change.
I was just a young doctor when I first toured the Heidelberg Castle in Germany. As is the case in many castles in Europe the narrow passage was dank and poorly lit. What light there was cast eerie shadows on the carefully placed stones that made up the walls leading to the alchemy lab. A sign on the wall read “No Photographs May Be Taken of the Alchemy Lab!” It struck me as odd at the time, that one could take pictures of any other room in the monstrously large Heidelberg Castle, just not this one.
Where I grew up, pollution was so heavy, the sky glowed orange and the smell of burning chemicals lingered in the air. I was born in 1963 on the Texas Gulf Coast near a conglomeration of oil refineries. I remember my aunt exclaiming with great surprise when she bought a new car with a guarantee on the paint job. She lived across the street from the refineries, and the air pollution honestly was bad enough to fade paint from a new car within a year. No kidding!
I've had several people ask me already about the name of my art therapy practice, Mothermoon. I chose this name intuitively, because the moon represents to me the sleeping / dreaming world of the Unconscious, whose language is symbol, metaphor, and art. Many great works of art have been inspired by dreams. Many insights have been reached through unconscious means, seemingly out of nowhere, but always with that feeling that "I already knew this somehow." The moon is rich in it
The general appearance of the chakra can be visualised as a a twining plant with trumpetshaped flowers. The stalk of the flower reaches into the spine with the flower extending out from the spine to the outer body and etheric double. The divine energy from the Solar Logos pours into each centre. On the surface of the etheric double it sets up at right angels to itself and the energy pours forth. Then the secondary energy flows in a circular motion through the chakra. In a sense, it resembles the bar magnet and induction coil.
It is your responsibility as the receiver of other people’s prayers to set the intention for prayers and energetic forms of spiritual healing that are in alignment with your own your clear desire. That means your intention needs to be very clear. A clear intention is dependent upon how you feel spiritually strong. Are you someone that visualizes, hears or feels things easily? Do you get strong impressions that are more like knowing something? Most of us have one or two means of spiritual perception that are strongest for us.
Have you ever felt like you were holding a grudge against someone, even after you had consciously tried to forgive? All of us, at one time or another, need to forgive. It may be our spouse or a friend. It may be a co-worker or a former employer. After the mortgage and financial crises, some people may harbor resentment against real estate or stock brokers they feel gave them bad advice. In our hearts we know that holding onto negative feelings against others only harms us. So why is it so hard to forgive?
Anitoxidants & Why We Need Them - A Brief Overivew There is definitely no lack of information about antioxidants. Their name is quickly becoming a part of everyone's vocabulary. They definitely are great allies in our jou ey of creating and maintaining wellness and health. However, we must realize that their use is not a substitute for a healthy diet, physical activity, and nurture and care for our mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.
One of the most frequent questions I get from my more spiritual clients is, “How can I reach my highest potential?” Not surprisingly, your lifestyle habits and preferences contribute substantially to whether or not you ever reach your highest potential. To do so, you must be in peak physical, mental, emotional and spiritual condition. Let’s examine 4 ways you can optimize your lifestyle to reach more of your Highest Potential: 1. Heed the nudges to change
Drug Addiction can slither in unexpectedly, starting as social or recreational use and turning even the mildest users into people willing to go to desperate measures for their next fix. Drug use becomes more and more frequent, and then the same amount doesn’t produce the same effects so dosages have to be increased. Suddenly the user finds himself dependent on the drug just to feel normal, and stopping produces illness and severe cravings (part of withdrawal). Drug use can a
When someone comes to me looking for an instantaneous healing, I know we are not likely to make very much progress. Are you wondering why? Doesn’t it seem to make sense that the more the person is able to believe in instant healing, the more likely it is going to happen? Indeed, I love to offer healing sounds and support to people that believe in the power of energetic healing because we are most likely to get results. However, there is a difference between believing in miracles and looking for them. Someone looking for miracles is usually desperately hunting to find a solution.
There truly is no lack of processed foods designed to speak directly to and appeal to our children. Simple walk through any grocery store (even a health oriented grocery store) easily confirms this. Taking a closer look at the individual items and their ingredients reveals a rather sad picture. These foods seem to be abundant in fillers and artificial and chemical additives, while being seriously poor in nutritional value.
Children are to a degree necessarily imbalanced. They are in a constant state of change. Children seek to discover the limits of their control over their environment. What has become known as childhood infectious illnesses are the training ground of achieving and maintaining balance in their life as an adult. The ability to react appropriately to stimuli is a learning process. If a lion comes up and bites you, you should bleed! If a child is challenged by microbes their body should react appropriately by producing a fever and the lymph nodes should be activated.
Emotional pain from the past can lodge in the body and become physical pain in the present. If you ignore the emotional pain, you are basically ignoring the root cause of the physical pain, and may find yourself remaining in physical discomfort. This is a difficult concept for many of us to grasp—the connection between emotional stress and physical illness.
It has frequently surprised students when I suggest that sound healing is as much, if not more, about quieting the mind and listening as it is about making sounds. Many of us can make sounds, but we access the sounds that have the ability to heal from the well of our silence.
Green super-foods are very rich and abundant sources of nutrients that include algae, green plants, vegetables and grasses. These amazing foods contain not only a wide range of minerals and vitamins vital to our well-being, but also contain chlorophyll and variety of phytochemicals that offer our body protection from many unwanted conditions. In our home we strive to find different ways to take our greens every day. To increase the amount and effectiveness of our holistic living skills geared to create lasting well-being for each one of us, we love using the Green Abundance powder.
If you aren’t certain about where to begin accessing your intuition or you want to be able to tap into more of your intuitive guidance, one of the best and most enjoyable ways to access you inner wisdom is through creative expression. Why? Inspiration and intuition are kissing cousins. Ask a gardener why she planted certain flowers together in a bed, and she’ll tell you about how they are compatible, of appropriate heights and widths and then she’ll end up telling you she just thought they would look good together.
Emotions tell stories about what is really going on. You’ve just got to be willing to sit with the uncomfortable ones long enough and with enough self-honesty to discover what they are telling you about what you need for your healing. This is going to make a lot more sense if I share a couple of poignant stories from my life. Years ago, I was in loving relationship where my sexual energy started to fully awaken and blossom.
I had a client a few years back who called herself a Parkinsonian. She had lived with Parkinson’s disease for 20 years. She was in her 70’s at the time, and her body was quite frail. She held a strong identity as a Parkinsonian and spoke fondly of her fellow Parkinsonians in her weekly support group. None held any possibility of healing. That’s not what they were there for. They had come together to create community around their disease. They had collectively agreed on the path the disease would take them on, and they were walking it together.
I know no one likes being told their dis-eases are "psychological," and I'm not here to tell you that everything is in your head. I realize there's more to it than that. However, your digestive system has a mind of its own, and it is wired to be heavily influenced by its mind. I'm not talking about the mind in your head - I'm talking about the mind in your gut.
If I had to give just one teaching about what I've learned in all of my studies, it would be this: To truly heal and optimally care for our bodies, we must see ourselves as one with all that is. We cannot see ourselves as separate from anything around us or within us.
Recently, I've been hearing more and more accounts of doctors and research studies concluding that the major contributing factor influencing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Intestinal Permeability (Leaky Gut Syndrome) and other digestive dysfunction is Stress.
Carl Jung once said, "Nothing so affects the life of a child as a parent's unfulfilled life."
It has only been over the last year or so that I am beginning to understand just how powerful Sound is as healing force. As a stand-alone vibrational healing tool I feel it has been under-rated for too long. Meditating and toning as a group in pristine Tasmanian rainforest in 2007 sent our vibrations soaring as we focused on toning into our own chakras one by one, starting from the base up to beyond the crown to the 12th chakra or cosmic gateway.
The other day I was driving in my car and a dashboard light came on that I had never seen before. I thought to myself, "I'm WAY too busy to deal with a car issue - I don't even have time to stop and check it out." Fortunately, I had the owner's manual right in the glove box. I looked up the symbol - it just needed air in the tires. I could easily manage that when I stop for gas.
Depression affects many of us at some point in our lives. If you are suffering from a chronic condition, serious injury, loss, or emotional trauma, you might find yourself suffering from depression.
When you first start practising with the interpretation of the Aura it can be discouraging if you do not see colours immediately. That is when pendulums are very useful; no only do they help you, when you first start, they later confirm what you are seeing! The Aura is the energy field that surrounds all matter – whether that is animate or inanimate. The aura also has lines of energy, which appear as radiant streams of energy extending one or two feet out into the auric field.
To date, I haven’t met anyone that has told me they can see them, taste them or smell negative ions. Yet, in nature, they are there all around us. Visit the ocean and you are in the company of negative ions. Visit the mountains, splash around in a stream, or take a walk in the woods and you’ll be breathing in negative ions. How do you know when you are in the presence of negative ions? You feel better. You relax and you feel more at ease with yourself and with life. That’s because negative ions increase the levels of serotonin in your body.
Anger is part of our human condition, which means we need to figure out strategies for recognizing it and then for managing it. We may experience it as a surge of inner heat as blood courses through our veins or a vague, unnamed discomfort that later breaks into consciousness. Or we might erupt like Mount Vesuvius, only then realizing we feel angry. But whichever way it manifests, anger can destabilize us, making us vulnerable to harming ourselves, others or both if we allow it to overtake reason and caution.
Knowing how to approach your self-healing process can be a real quandary, particularly if you don’t have a favorite and specific energy healing modality. You can spend a lot of energy just figuring out how to think of self-healing in a general context. Recently, one of my readers asked a really great question regarding a general approach to self-healing. It was significant enough that I sent it to several of my colleagues for their consideration and comments.
Medical doctors estimate that as many as 90 percent of all people seeking medical care for any reason are doing so because of a stress-related disorder. Given millions of home foreclosures, jobs lost and parents unable to provide adequately for their children, these numbers are not surprising. Stress is our number one source of medical problems: stress chemicals such as cortisol cause heart disease, increase our sensation of physical pain, cripple our immune system, damage the cells of our brain, leach our energy, rob us of sleep and in the process, destroy our joy in living.
Preparing an article like this is rather challenging because of such array and richness in the bounty of healthy nutritious foods Mother Nature offers us. The goal here is not to tell you that this are the "miracle" or the only "best foods" to eat for maintenance of health and well-being.
Aromatherapy has been used across many cultures since ancient times. Ancient Egyptians used specific aromatherapy oils as they were mummifying a body. On the heads of guests they also placed scented wax cones that would melt progressively releasing the fragrances of the essential oils. In modern-day France, famous for its high quality lavender oils, essential oils can be used internally instead of medicine by trained aromatherapists.
A while back my husband and I were in a class where we were asked to spend a day keeping a tally of how often we complained. I thought I was a pretty positive person so this exercise would be pretty easy to do. Oh my gosh, was I surprised to discover how often I was thinking complaining thoughts, though I wasn’t expressing them. I was complaining all right, just not out loud. We were also asked to notice our patterns of thoughts. Did we tend to complain about other friends, co-workers, politics, our bodies, our helplessness, injustice, past abuses, lovers, etc.?
Hypnotherapy in simple words is the process of putting the person in a state of trance where there is an extreme level of imagination, relaxation as well as suggestions that are put across. When the person is willing to get hypnotised, he/she can always approach hypnotherapists who with special techniques ensure that there is a change in the mental state of the person. Hypnotherapy in simple words is the process of putting the person in a state of trance where there is an ex
Feng Shui Colors and Your Health If you’ve ever had a friend who said they always got sick, you might have noticed they were right. No matter how often they washed their hands or exercised, they seemed to get sick. But why is this? This person was attracting the energy of sickness to themselves just by saying that they always get sick. If they talked about being healthy, then they would have remained healthy. In the practice of Feng Shui, when you place certain things around
Chakra is a Sanskrit word which literally means, “the turning of the wheel of the Law”. (Refer The Chakras CW Leadbetter). The law is to do with the Laws of Nature as referred to within the Divine Plan (Theosophical Studies - HP Blavatsky). However, for this short article, we will conce ourselves mainly with the meaning of the chakras in relation to the Etheric Double of man. These chakras are wheel-like vortices which exist in the surface of the etheric double.
This is such an excellent question. Guilt is at the core of many illnesses. Its partner is regret. As long as we are living in emotional pain rooted in the past, we are going to have a difficult time healing in the present. Guilt is anger with yourself for some choice you have made. The cells of the body can harbor the energy of guilt inside of them and when they do, your body inflames and congests in response. In fact, you may find that you heal, only to have a recurrence of a condition. Guilt doesn’t let us off the hook for very long and your physical symptoms may be reflecting that.
If you have an “incurable” condition, you may be asking yourself if there is any possibility that incurable conditions can be reversed. The answer is, “Yes.” Just because modern allopathic medicine may not have a cure, doesn’t mean that healing isn’t possible. The journey of self-healing is about discovering the power and the path within you. If you have read my book, “The Root of All Healing,” you know that when I was faced with MS, I decided I was not going to live with that forever.
There’s a relatively new healing technique that is growing in popularity with remarkable speed. It’s called EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. If you haven’t already heard of it, EFT is a safe and gentle form of energy medicine that is now being recommended by the American Psychiatric Association, and is widely used in VA hospitals in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. Like acupuncture, EFT is a meridian-based therapy, but with EFT, no needles are used.
Intuition is one of those elusive concepts that many of us know we should be using to enhance our opportunities for healing, but often, don’t quite know how to access. I remember a friend that had been a meditator for many years asking me how he would know when his intuition was speaking to him. I was taken aback. I had assumed that because he had been an active meditator at one time in his life, that he would automatically be open to and recognize his intuitive wisdom, but that was not the case.
There is a lot of information available about the benefits of massage. It has been scientifically established that massage is good for your body. It is also good for your mind; it relaxes, destresses, and temporarily shuts off incessant mental chatter. I am lucky to live in Thailand where massage is not a luxury. At about $5.- an hour there is little reason not to indulge regularly in a Thai Massage. My personal measure for good massage is being able to fall asleep during the session.
Keeping a regular jou aling practice can have a huge positive effect on an individual's confidence, self-knowledge, and success in all kinds of endeavors. The power of jou aling is not well known, but once you start journal writing you come to know how dramatically it can improve your life. If you want to access inner strengths, or understand relationships, or master challenges, journal writing can be the key. Jou aling is where we examine our life with the greatest intimacy
Ellen Hodgson Brown is a active and courageous blogger on financial freedom and reform topics. Her book is highly recommended, find it at WebofDebt.com She gave me permission to share this excerpt from her book, Web of Debt, in an email I have from Oct 7, 2011. It is the only "put right" reading of this fairy tale known to me. The Wizard of Oz – Put Right! “Ounces is abbreviated oz, hence "Oz." Excerpted with permission from Chapter 1 of Web of Debt, LESSONS FROM THE WIZARD OF OZ, by Ellen Hodgson Brown, abridged by BD, shared with permission.
How many times have you said to yourself, “I’ve been working on this issue for years, yet I just don’t seem to be making any progress. Why am I still stuck?” At times I’ve even been known to say to myself in exasperation, “But I thought I’d cleared that!” The issue can be anything at all – attracting abusive relationships, being stuck in financial struggle and lack and not being able to move through deep-seated fears, to name a few.
Headaches are one of the most common complaints within our society. Almost every day you will encounter someone who complains of a headache that day and looks for a way to make the pain go away. Why is it so difficult to truly make one headache free? What can we do about them? Thing that most people I know do about their headaches is reach for a pain reliever that will hopefully make their headache go away. Some go for over-the-counter pharmaceuticals that suppress the pain but deliver a long list of side effects we really are best to avoid.
For many years I thought my real spiritual work would begin once I was fully healed. What I didn’t understand was that my self-healing was my spiritual path. It wasn’t that I needed to get better and then I would have the energy to devote to my spiritual awakening. It was the other way around. Discovering my unique spiritual gifts—and learning how to apply them in every area of my life including my healing and awakening—was the journey. In fact, much of my awakening has taken place as I have been focused on self-healing!
After reading my recent article on Diabetes and Self-Healing, one of our readers told me that although she has diabetes, she believes she is quite adept at fulfilling the spiritual-emotional need behind this condition—acknowledging the sweetness in life. But that realization hadn’t caused her diabetes to go away. This is a significant observation in her journey.
People have been drinking tea and using it for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. In recent years we have seen more research being done on the benefits of tea for our wellbeing and the results are confirming many of the traditional uses. There is a long way to go before we see a greater number of studies completed, but it should not be a reason for us to delay enjoying a delightful cup of tea and reaping the benefits. Green tea and black tea are most commonly thought of when we mention tea drinking and many studies are done on them specifically.
