Six Characteristics of People Who Set and Achieve Goals
(1.) They take time to determine what they truly want and how to get it. Any sensible and mature person has his own idea of what he wants most out of life. People who set goals hold mental pictures of what they would like to materialize before their very eyes. For example, an obese or overweight man might plan to submit himself to a diet-and-exercise program in order to regain his health. Creative imagining is simply the process of using visuals to bring out your desired outcome. It’s an extremely pleasant way to help you enjoy goal setting. Being able to see the results of your goals in pictures will provide an added incentive for you to work hard towards your goals. When the going gets tough and you’re tempted to quit, all you need to do is refer to these pictures often.

Here are some simple and easy steps for cleaning clams.
Start out by selecting the best clams that you can possibly find, even if you have to pay a little more for these. If they are slightly open, they have to close when tapped gently. Do not buy clams whose shells gape wide open or are broken. Also, go by the smell – the fresher they are, the more they will smell like the sea. Avoid buying from a batch that smells bad or is beginning to stink.

A Glycemic Index or GI list is a list of food items that provides readers with a measure of how the carbohydrates in each sort of food act on the body’s blood sugar level. It goes back to the incredibly simple but undeniably profound thought expressed in Earl Nightingale’s great album The Strangest Secret. He said that “you become what you think about all day long.” If you think about that, you’ll realize it’s true.

CIA Model of Stress Reduction
A saying that you’ve probably heard a lot in business, in sports, and human performance in general is controlling the controllable. What does that actually mean? I wanted to take this concept of controlling the controllable, which is actually really good advice by the way, and take it out of the realm of being a cliché and into the realm of something that we can actually do. In our workshops we’ll use something called the CIA Model to help students gain understanding of this concept and reduce stress in their own lives.

4 Tips to Take the Terror Out of Giving Presentations
What’s scarier to most Americans than spiders, heights, or even death? There hasn’t been a horror movie made about it yet, but more than 75% of Americans surveyed report that they suffer from “glossophobia,” a debilitating fear of public speaking. Statistically, far more of us claim that we would prefer death to giving a speech; even comedia Jerry Seinfeld used to joke that at a funeral, most people would rather be lying in the casket than delivering the eulogy. Why is the prospect of trying to communicate information in front of even one person so horrifying?

Salesperson’s Magic Bullet - 4 Ways to Smile When You Talk
I was driving around last week listening to a guy named Andy Andrews in my car, and he said something that hit me right between the eyes. Mr. Andrews (author of the book The Traveler’s Gift) was saying that if he was allowed only 1 minute on stage and one thing to say that would change someone’s life, it would be an easy decision for him to know what to cover. He said his advice would be to: SMILE WHILE YOU TALK That’s it- crazy, huh? Seems so simple, but it’s such a common denominator.

Your Patterns and Default Setting
In the coaching relationships I have with our clients, the major problem I see is that individuals end up in the same place - over and over and over again. They mean to save money and build wealth, only to end up (again) with “too much month at the end of the money.” They’ve lost the same 15 pounds 8 times in the last decade. They quit one job only to end up doing the exact same job with the exact same pay for a different company. They end a relationship and then start dating the same person with a different name. Sound familiar?

2 Steps to Lift Your Emotions – Instantly!

Get Rid of Those Old, Disempowering Thoughts!
It takes courage and effort to get rid of old, disempowering thoughts and beliefs that hold us back, but it can be done! Not long ago, my late mother was very weak from cancer and lying in a hospital bed. My brother and I were trying to figure out how we might get her outside on a lovely day so that she could enjoy the sunshine and be in touch with nature. Mom was a little agitated, and said, "Don't be silly. I can't go outside!” My brother had the idea to roll her bed, which was on wheels, down the corridors and out the door to the hospital's grassy courtyard.

Become Your Own Rescuer
When life's challenges feel all-consuming, it's only natural to yearn for rescue. You might cross your fingers, wish on a star, focus your intent, and hope with all your might that someone or something will swoop in and fix all your problems. Typically, people will look to a romantic partner or an employer offering a dream job to liberate them from their troubles. They may also decide that money, to paraphrase Cindy Lauper, will change everything. The longing to be saved is understandable, but it will prevent you from discovering your power to help yourself.

Kicked Out Of Bed!
Kicked Out Of Bed! MY CRIME? SNORING! (This is a true story. The names have been changed to protect the snorer and his wife.) I love sleeping next to my wife, but she just kicked me out of our bed! I can’t imagine what I possibly could have done that would cause her to take such a drastic action. I knew I hadn’t cheated on her. I knew I was a pretty good lover. I knew I paid all our bills on time. What could have possibly led her to throw me out of my own bedroom, and onto -- you guessed it -- the couch?

Boost Your Self-Confidence with Appearance Right Now
Everyone would like to feel good about themselves in all situations. Self-confidence refers to this good feeling about yourself, your abilities as well as your performance. As the name implies, self-confidence usually comes from within yourself instead of other people. Self-confident people are a force to reckon with. They are admired and respected in the society. Believing in yourself leads to other people believing in you. Some people have low self-confidence. However, like most other skills, it can be attained through learning as well as practice.

About Potential
We are capable of achieving a lot more than we were told we are capable of achieving. By comparing what we have achieved in the past and telling ourselves that that is all we are capable of achieving in the future, we are limiting our own potential, never finding out what we are really capable of. The past does not equal the future, unless you allow it to.

Busy or Productive? Here's 15 Differences
Busy people drive me crazy. The whirlwind of their lives, at work and at home, reminds me of a hover craft or a hydrofoil boat – never touching the ground or the water. It’s as if they have permanent ADHD with no medication, and that impairment forces more and more activity just for activity’s sake. Productive people, on the other hand exude a calm determination. They seem to know “where they are going” and how they are going to get there, and their race is slow and steady, like the proverbial tortoise who wins the race. And what does winning the race look like?

About Purpose
Some of us get up in the morning, go to work, deliver our dues, go home, watch some TV, and go to bed, just to get up the next day to do the same all over again. Nothing changes, nothing new is created and there is no excitement, just that same old, eventually dull, routine that is not meant to be part of life. Really, that’s not what life is about.

The Success Puzzle
Why do so many struggle with success? Perhaps the best, and somehow least obvious, answer to that question is: they have never defined success for themselves. Watch Your Margins: Become Aware of Your Thoughts, Emotions and Actions to Create Desired Change

Practical Intuition
When my son was about 2 years old I took him to his daycare center where he had been going for about a year. One day we visited the new toddler room that he would be attending the following week. He hesitated to walk into that new room and held tightly onto my hand (which was quite unusual behavior for him). It took him several minutes before he would let go and explore his new surroundings. My practical mind told me that he was just being an average child who is cautious about entering a new environment.

The thing is, that while he loves the company he works for, respects and admires his boss, and enjoys the people he’s worked with for these many years, he also has another passion, his music.

Is There A Key To Happiness?
I think that there is a key to happiness. However, it's based upon what your needs and desires are at the time. For example, if someone is feeling overweight and self-conscious about themselves, they are not going to be happy in that moment. It's only when they are comfortable or pleased with that area of their life that they perceive they are happy. For some, it’s managing their weight or body. For others it could be having the right relationship. Others want a better career. For many it's a financial issue.
