Awaken your Creative Genie
One of the reasons you stop creative efforts is your feel you are not getting the praise you want from others. Why not consider the praise and growth you get from the Universe? Another reason you stop creating is you think your creation is not as good as others; so what? It’s yours. Stop comparing your projects with other people’s. I love to paint and sculpt horses. If I go online, open an art book or go to a gallery, I see that mine are not the same as the pros. Should I stop doing something I enjoy? I don’t think so.

I heard running steps behind me and which stopped when a slim eight-year-old boy approached from behind. He stopped and asked, "Why do you use a cane?" I answered that I needed to use it to keep me from falling because I had lost my sense of balance. He gave me a look, as if not quite believing that a slim adult, even an older adult, could not run as easily as he could.

Ever wonder what the biggest problem in life really is? Yes, it’s stress! And the remedy? Profound dynamic relaxation. This is a true story: I met John at a stress-release workshop I was teaching in Scotland. He was a schoolteacher in a run-down area of Glasgow. As if that wasn’t hard enough, he was a history teacher, a subject that most of his pupils were completely uninterested in—perhaps the history of rap music but certainly not of kings and queens! Teaching had become a source of immense stress; John would regularly lose his temper and was planning to quit.

It elegantly marries one of our most poignant inner experiences—that of personal meaning and mission—with our concept of self.
