If you thought about this question for just a second, the first thoughts that would pop into your mind would be, “my family”, “my children” or “my spouse”. Now take the time to look a little deeper, is the way you are living your life indicating that you are actually living your life, like those three areas are most important to you. Or is the picture that is reflected back at you telling a very different story? Most people are very quick to state what they value most, as being their relationships or families. When in reality their deeds are painting a completely different picture.

Why Is It Important To Keep Good Order? What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you wake up in the morning? Coffee? Maybe yes, but also I am sure that you start to remember little by little all the things that you have to do today â child care, work, housekeeping chores, preparing a meal, filling government papers, mailing the post, go to the dentist and unfortunately the list goes on. It seems endless. How are you supposed to do everything, when you need 36
Are you just drifting through life? Too many people just drift through life, going with the flow, never having any direction about where they want their lives to go. They are like a paper cup that blows around in the car park at the shopping Centre. It is totally at the whim of the wind and it just floats around from one side of the car park to the other. Do you know anyone like that?
The greatest gift you can give to yourself and everyone around you is the gift of caring and sharing. Commit to view the universe as an abundant place, with sufficient resources to serve everyone. This small shift will allow you to see unlimited opportunities for yourself to achieve all your dreams and that there is enough abundance around to share opportunities with the people around you.
Imagine finding time to: • Fulfill life’s daily demands, • Make headway on your big goals, and • Be able to pursue your favorite and most self-nurturing activities. I know I don’t have to tell you … that can be a very tall order, requiring lots of focus and discipline! And do you notice that often, after you’ve put in your best efforts, you may let go of that last item on the list above - your promise to yourself? Do you say you’ll find time for that weekend away or that special event “another time”?
There are few things as overwhelming as feeling buried in clutter. Whether it’s your in-box, your To-Do List, or your kitchen cabinets, clutter is confusing, discouraging, and energy-draining. Like weeds in a garden, it can overwhelm and choke out whatever you were trying to grow! The start of a New Year (or New Month) can be a great time to make new inroads into your clutter. Try thinking of yourself as a gardener, as you survey whatever is cluttering your life. Imagine the new potentials you can open up for yourself as you clear away the non-essentials.
Time management tips can prepare you to undergo changes - sometimes, profound ones. Given how tumultuous times can be, the better you understand the process of creating positive change in your life, the more effective your time planning will be. Consider this 6-stage model of change, initially developed by Professor James Prochaska in 1997 to support people in overhauling their lives. Here is how you can apply this model to effectively manage your time choices: 1) Precontemplation Stage
Who do you surround yourself with, have you chosen your neighbours, friends and associates wisely? Research has shown that we eventually dress, think, talk and act like the people we surround ourselves with, should something that has such a profound effect on us be left to chance? If you want to support your success and give yourself the best chance of succeeding in 2012, then you must invest time to look at all your associations.
What obstacles are preventing you from achieving your goal? What must you do to overcome them? Knowing what you must achieve is not enough. You have to anticipate the challenges you are likely to face. Think about what you can do to deal with those challenges and perhaps turn them into opportunities. Going back to the “millionaire goal” we used as an example earlier, some of the obstacles you could expect are Lack of know-how or training, lack of resources, difficult or no access to the people you need for your success, lack of inspiration or the correct mentors or coaches.r
Here's the tip: use the "Fast Draft" mode in your printer settings when printing documents for simple internal review. This mode will print your documents 2-3 times faster than "Normal" mode, and also uses significantly less toner. It will save you a ton of time and money, especially on longer ...
Letting Go Clutter in our lives is costing us our most valuable commodity, time. An office with a cluttered desk and files costs us 6 weeks a year; time lost in searching for documents. We often say we don’t have time to successfully sort and file things away and yet, realizing that we ...
One of the great illusions about perfectionism is that it is the pursuit of excellence. Nothing could be further from the truth. Excellence is stymied and smothered by perfectionism. As artist and writer Julia Cameron has written: “Perfectionism is not a quest for the best. It is a pursuit of the worst in ourselves, the part that tells us that nothing we do will ever be good enough - that we should try again.”
We are bombarded by interruptions and distractions all day long. They affect our focus and cause us to lose time getting back up to speed. If we can increase our productivity by just six minutes each day, we’ll increase our productivity by 24 hours each year. That’s three days of production this year over last! Imagine what it would feel like to have three days of work off your desk right now. Quelling the Noise
Time management strategies can be a challenge to implement sometimes, and when everyone isn’t on the same page, you need to call on your conflict resolution skills along with your time management tools. Keep in mind, too, that the conflicts you experience may not always be exte al. If you are ambivalent about a task or project, this, too, is a conflict that needs to be resolved. Any way you look at it, strong conflict resolution skills will free up enormous amounts of your time.
If you were asked to describe yourself in one word, what would that word be? Would it be something like, honest, obsessed, driven, compassionate, humorous, empathetic or any myriad of other possibilities? Write down the one word you would use to describe yourself. Is it the same word other people would use to describe you?
Finding time doesn’t need to be difficult. So, what does your ideal day look like? Would you recognize it if you stumbled upon it? Sometimes we get so caught up in the busy-ness of our lives that we lose sight of what we most value and enjoy. Productivity is important, but if we live too long without replenishing ourselves, we become less and less productive. Our energy flags and our creativity dries up. We are depleted and out of touch with the wellspring of our inspiration and vitality … ourselves!
It is possible to change everything in your life with one decision or a single thought. All that you need to do, to start this miraculous process, of creating exactly the future that you desire, is to make that one decision, to begin doing things differently. This single thought can positively change everything in your life. This one single thought or single decision can: • Unlock your hidden potential • Improve your health • Create great wealth • Create great relationships and forge bonds of deep love and connection • Inspire new levels of joy and happiness.r
Finding time for what matters most always boils down to our time choices. We have the same 24-hours every single day of our lives … and what we do with those hours defines who we are, as well as going a long way to determine the quality of our lives. The good news is that time management tips can provide you with empowering insights to energize and enrich your time choices. If you’d like to make your wisest time choices, then my #1 time tip is to invest time up front by giving yourself time to reflect. I like to call them Reflection Points – these powerful gifts to yourself.
Failure is really only feedback from our environment or the universe telling us that our response to various events in our lives was not correct. What that in effect means is that our responses did not deliver the outcomes that were desirable at that time. So failure really only serves as an opportunity for us to learn and grow and to find different responses in the future, that will deliver the outcomes we desire.
Your success requires time management, and time management requires sticking to your priorities and making tough decisions every day. These days, many of us are working harder and putting in longer hours, just to get by. Do you know the feeling? The danger, of course, is that we lose ourselves in our work. You alone are in a position to decide what balance you want to strike between your work and your home. Whatever decision you make, you then actualize and maintain this choice with a boundary.
I am sure you have heard the cliché “Life is a Journey, Enjoy the Ride” Bandied about recklessly by people around you all the time. These same people then tell you that they are not enjoying their lives, but when they get the new promotion, their kids go off to varsity or they start to earn a certain amount, then things will change, then they will be happy and start to enjoy their lives. The time to be happy is from this moment forward and the time to be enjoying every step of the journey toward living the vision you have in your mind is right now.
In your busy, daily life, time management is important, and productivity is at a premium. So doesn’t it make sense to multi-task whenever you can? Who wouldn’t want to be doing two things in the time it takes to do one? Well, actually … multi-tasking is often exactly the opposite of what you need to be doing when you are pressed for time. In fact, multi-tasking actually works against you when you’re trying to accomplish tasks that require focus.
I believe that it is always the simple option that delivers the best results. To this end I think that leaders therefore have only three main functions in any organisation or company.r
Heart-based time management is all about finding time, increasing productivity, and deepening your experience of each and every moment. And heart-based time management works best when you are using your time efficiently and effectively. But what happens when something unexpected enters the scene and disrupts your carefully laid plans? Well, here’s something to consider: The more you plan for change, the less you need to change your plans.
The greatest investment you will ever make is an investment into your on-going personal development. No other investment will ever give you the same returns. As you consistently invest into your most important asset, namely your own self-development, the returns you will enjoy, go well beyond just gains in monetary wealth. You become a better person in every respect. You are better equipped to be a better spouse, friend, employee, entrepreneur, etc. and if directed properly even your health will improve.
Time management tips can be excellent tools for increasing your efficiency and effectiveness … but they are at their most powerful when they enhance your quality of life, too! Just stop and think about it for a second: What if you could relate to your time in a more open-handed AND more effective way? And what if you could do that right now? The key lies inside of you. Cultivating a vision of time that springs from abundance affects how you approach every task and every challenge that comes your way. It enhances your productivity and helps you make better decisions.
I remember, as a young man, my father used to offer me advice and direction. As great as his intentions were, I never realised that he was speaking from a standpoint of experience and wisdom and that he only wanted to help me avoid, making the same mistakes that he had made. On many occasions, I ignored my father’s advice and encountered numerous challenges and obstacles, which I could have avoided, had I had the foresight to realise that my father’s experience gave him an advantage and a far greater opportunity to be correct.
Finding time to live each moment to its fullest is a core goal and fundamental value of the Heart-Based Time Management™ System. Preparing and planning ahead is one of the best ways to create the climate for living your moments fully. Doing the groundwork ahead of time means that you'll find more time to relax, open your heart, and enjoy friends and family throughout this special season. Here are 3 Tips to think about when planning ahead for the holidays – or really for anything:
We all want to make a difference during our lifetimes, to leave a legacy after we have completed our time on this planet. Making a difference is not just about volunteering to assist people that come from a less advantaged background than you do. You should shift your thinking away from seeing making a difference as an event or something you must do, making a difference is a new way of life, a new way of conducting yourself. This shift will allow you to make a difference, every day in your own unique way, during every moment.
You don’t even need to be very observant to notice that everything around you operates in cycles. There are four seasons every year, we see both day and night every 24 hours and extensive research has shown that we operate best when we work in sync with the ultradian rhythm, which means that we operate optimally, when we work in cycles of 90 minutes, followed by short periods of rest. Our bodies are also tuned in to operate according to the circadian rhythm, which means that we sleep when it is dark and are awake, when it is light.

Time management strategies gain their power from your skill at setting boundaries Only when you firmly say no to old pastimes can you truly say yes to new ones. But saying no can be hard, especially to those whose cooperation you'd like! Here's a helpful tip: Setting successful time boundaries = Setting specific time boundaries.
The one new certainty you have in your life in these fast moving and evolving times; is CHANGE. Whether by choice or by circumstance, any change you experience thrusts you out of your comfort zone and into a world of the unknown. We must learn to accept and embrace change in our own lives and our environments. Learning to embrace change and especially the positive changes you know are necessary in your life right now, is one of the most valuable tools you have available, to help you find joy and harmony and success in your life.
If you are searching for exceptional results, you will need to be different and to do things in your own unique and special way. This is one of the best ways for you to stand out from the herd. As long as you choose to remain part of the crowd and you keep doing things that are fashionable, trendy or popular, you will remain trapped in mediocrity. The way to bring extraordinary achievement into your life requires you to take charge of your future and to commit to use your unique strengths and talents.
Finding time to "stop and smell the roses" a piece of advice that many of us have heard so often that we probably hardly hear it at all anymore. But like so many so-called clichés, this saying harbors a great deal of wisdom. So, if you have paused in the course of your busy day to read this article, congratulations! You are taking the first step toward giving yourself a wonderfully simple and transformative time gift.
Time management tips couldn’t be more important than right now - just in time for the holiday season! How would you like to transform the stressful parts of holiday get-togethers into truly celebratory occasions for yourself? Well, you can do it … and you can start right now by creating a holiday plan that’s geared to your comfort zone.
Time management tips will make you more effective, so long as you learn how to relate assertively without lapsing into aggressiveness. The line may be a thin one, but keeping on the right side of it can protect you from painful backlashes. What is your personal experience with setting boundaries so far? Take a quick quiz to see exactly where you stand: Will Your Boundaries Be Respected? T/F __ I resist setting boundaries because I fear backlashes. T/F __ I don't get mad easily, but when I do, watch out! T/F __ I count on anger to put teeth in my boundaries.
One of the major factors, which can limit your potential and hold you away from realising your dreams, is the opinions of other people. The secret to succeed and become all you can be is to live independently of the good opinion of other people. No one else’s opinion matters at all and in many cases the opinions, which are being expressed are coming from a place of insecurity on the part of the person expressing the opinion. They want to express their own insecurities and lack of determination, so that they can hobble you and your dreams.
Your self-imposed comfort zone is an artificial place, which you have created in your mind, which limits your potential, to a minuscule part of what you are really capable of achieving. Break free from your SELF-IMPOSED comfort zone and stop limiting your achieving any longer, because of your lack of believing. Stop accepting mediocrity, because it is comfortable and begin to experiment and explore a little, break some new ground, try something new today.
I believe that the true measure of a person is not found in what they do when they know people are watching, but rather how they conduct themselves even when they think no one is watching. Are you always cordial and empathetic when you deal with people, especially people who carry no sway over your life? When at the checkout at the supermarket, do you smile and greet the person behind the counter.
There is always more than one way to achieve anything, you can choose the hard way and attempt to achieve things by continuing to coast through life without any plan to grow and expand. Or you can make achieving success a cinch by committing to a lifetime of learning and growth, where you strive to consistently improve your strengths, every day Jim Rohn said it so well when he said “You can cut down a tree with a hammer, but it takes about 30 days. If you trade the hammer for an axe, you can cut it down in about 30 minutes. The difference between 30 days and 30 minutes is skills”
Are you choking on the dust of your own regret, for all the great opportunities you have squandered over the years? Is this attitude or philosophy serving you in any positive way? Can you see how living in the past, focused on what might have been, complaining about all the challenges that have come your way is dragging you out into the financial desert, to die a slow and painful death of regret, where your life seems to just continue to spiral out of control.
Does Your Success, Depend on the State of the Economy? I do not believe that any change or fluctuation in market conditions should have any bearing on how your future turns out. The real predictor of how your life will unfold is determined by your beliefs and consistent daily behaviours. Despite the current doom and gloom about a double dip recession and newspapers splashing headlines every day about the recession we are experiencing, I believe that you still get to write your own success story. The long term sustainable success, which we all want in our lives, is the result of:
There are numerous possibilities available, for you to become the best possible version of your unique self. Accept that there is only one version of you on this planet; no one else has your unique mind, life experience, character, attitude and exactly the same philosophy as you. This realisation sets you apart from the average and allows you to see that you can become the best, in your own unique way. I want you to look at yourself and see your unique strengths, abilities, experience and unlimited potential, as tools to begin and sustain your journey, toward the future that you desire.
As you travel on your journey towards the success you desire, you obviously understand the importance of having a purpose, vision, mission, a set of very clearly defined goals and finally individual goal specific actions, which you will carry out every day. Once you have this crucial structure in place and you are completely committed to achieving your goals. There are a few tools you can use to support you on your journey.
Time management strategies aren’t just about overcoming procrastination, creating schedules, and checking tasks off your To Do List. In fact, time management is an approach to tasks and time choices that can be beneficial in ANY area of your life. From the loftiest questions of life’s meaning, to the most mundane of daily tasks, as you hone your time management skills, everything changes for the better!
It is extremely rare for anyone to exceed their own expectations, so if you can only see yourself achieving mediocre results, that is exactly what you will experience in your life. If you want to break free and create a life of meaning and satisfaction. You must first commit to create a vivid picture of exactly what you want in your mind’s eye and then believe that it is possible for you to achieve just that.
Heart-based time management is all about finding time, increasing productivity, and deepening your experience of each and every moment. And heart-based time management works best when you use your time effectively, because procrastinating won't help you complete important projects, let alone live your values as fully as you can! Now, it may seem counter-intuitive to you, but the absolute best tool for overcoming procrastination is compassion. Not harshness, self-criticism or urgency, but compassion.
Open plan work environments are the norm in most organisations. Some are even going further, introducing ‘hotdesking’ where your workstation is allocated fresh daily. Open plan environments are flexible, positively encouraging conversation, and for many an enjoyable part of working life. But inevitably, noise levels increase, particularly when combined with distractions such as impromptu meetings, distribution of birthday cakes and background clatter of printers/photocopiers in use.
Here are some ideas that hopefully go beyond the “packing tips” that you can find everywhere else and will help make your trip run smoothly, especially helpful if you or your family have ADHD. 1) Use your mobile phone’s features. This is my Number One tip. This compact gadget has a world of ...
I have been searching for that one catalyst, which turns some people into super achievers and keeps others trapped in mediocrity. I have come up with a number of complicated hypotheses, but the one, which seems to offer the greatest promise, is this really simple one stated below. “When your desire for success exceeds your fear of failure and you discover your own unique reason why that specific level of success is important to you, then NO-THING will stop you from succeeding”r
Life is a series of trade-offs and every wasted moment is spent forever. Time and therefore your life are traded for the things you choose to do or not to do. You have an incredible privilege right now, that privilege is awareness. Use that awareness from today, to wrestle back control of your life and begin to create the life of your dreams. Do not wait until it is too late and you have huge regrets about what you did or failed to do with your precious life, before you make any positive changes.
We live in a truly abundant universe, where there is an abundance of everything. To live a truly unique and worthwhile life, you must accept that there is more than enough for you and everyone else. When you commit to share this abundance, you begin to share in the magic. You feel really great that you are able to assist others and your body rewards you with feel good chemicals and you are able to make the world a better place.
Acquiring great success and achievement, often requires you to take on some level of risk. As most super achievers have taken a number of risks in their lives and it is very often that very risk taking that made them successful in the first place, it seems pretty obvious that super achievement and accepting some level of risk are synonymous. The secret though is to know the difference between taking a calculated risk and blundering into something that is just plain foolish risk.
Most successful people use " TO DO " lists. We are nearing the middle of the year. How are you doing with the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year? Remember what Anthony Robbins said, “We often overestimate what we can achieve in a year and significantly underestimate all we can achieve in a decade”. If you are not achieving all the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year, it is most certainly not time to give up, it is time to take a longer term view of your goals. Keep chipping away every day, stay focused, review the actions you are taking, are they delivering the results you want?
The majority of people would rather vegetate in front of the television, keep spending major time on minor tasks, spend their days lost in a cycle of “BUSYNESS” and never read another book once they leave school. This makes achieving success and standing out really easy for the select few that commit to daily discipline. Invest their free time into learning and growing, have a crystal clear plan and utilize their available time effectively.
Are you willing to turn your vocation into your vacation?
You control your destiny. If you understand that important fact, you’ll learn the greatest results come from creating and maintaining a positive self-image. Self-image reflects the visualization you have of yourself and develops from past events and future expectations. As you build and maintain a positive self-image, you become better in many ways. You develop an inner peace and happiness, which leads to increased success and positive mental attitude (“PMA”).
When faced with any obstacle, change, challenge or roadblock, examine them just long enough to uncover the difficulty they present and immediately change your focus to look for what you can do to overcome them, prevail and turn them into opportunities. All challenges you encounter are possibilities and when managed properly, they will eventually become opportunities. Always look for what these challenges may have highlighted to you and focus your energies on the positive. This will allow you to very quickly discover the depths of your resolve and ability.
Before the advent of video games and the constant bombardment of 24 hour entertainment streaming directly into our lounges, the highlight of our year was attending the carnival, when it came to town. We could hardly wait to ride the bobbing wild animals and whirl, round and round to the music that was blasting out of the old antique pipe organ. Surrounded by flashing lights and strategically placed mirrors, our hearts would race as we all competed to be the one who could reach out and grab hold of the gold ring, thereby winning another free ride.
No matter how good your eyesight may be, it will be of little value if you do not have vision. This is your ability to see things that may be invisible to other people or to innovate and see things that may not even exist yet. The limitations we face in life are not due to our current circumstances or abilities, but are limited by our lack of vision, around what is possible for us. True vision is the ability to create pictures of what can be, it is a place where we appeal to our better selves, a place where we appeal to that hidden self and we strive to become more.r
Finding time works best when you are organized and efficient. But, as I am sure you know, it takes a lot more than to-do lists.
You Will Get Knocked Down – Are you going to Stay Down? Motivational Speakers Facing challenges on the path to super achievement is not only likely, it is inevitable. As you traverse the path of success you are going to be knocked down a number of times. This is a natural progression and something that must be expected on every worthwhile journey of excellence and growth.
By Kathryn McKinnon, Time Management Expert, Best Selling Amazon Author of Triple Your Time Today! These days, not having enough time has become commonplace. Everywhere you go, people find themselves constantly in a rush, over-booked and over-scheduled with no time off. Life is accompanied by the ongoing stress of not having enough time.
The secret to success is not found by trying to shout louder than everyone else out there. The secret is to move away from the crowd and the noise and to begin the process of building connection with the right people, in the right place at the right time. This is a case of going back to basics and instead of trying to spray your message out into the world and sitting back and praying that someone will hear it and miraculously get to know like and trust what you have to offer.
History serves as a great teacher and any wise entrepreneur will look back over the past 100 years and see that there is a definite trend. There is a cycle or market fluctuation, which seems to repeat every seven to ten years. During these cycles, there are periods of easy prosperity, followed by periods of challenge, where prosperity is more difficult and opportunities are scarcer. Look back over the past 100 years and even beyond and you will most certainly see a cyclical trend, with alte ating bear and bull markets.
Looking online is a beneficial and well-known approach of finding used cars for sale. This can be a terrific industry for personal vendors and car traders to market his/her vehicles together with for buyers to see used case without the hassle of going to spherical garages and listening to sales pitches. Car shoppers can find vehicles at leisure time from their houses and possess time to think clearly concerning their choices rather than getting into a rush straight in purchas
At some stage in your life, you still dared to dream and you had those grandiose goals and aspirations, to live a life of meaning and fulfillment. What killed that drive and determination in you? Was it because you really were dreaming the impossible or you just simply did not have what it took or was it something else altogether? Was it because the people around you told you that what you wanted to achieve in your life or business was impossible?
Society has trained us over the years to turn down the volume on our intuition. We have become to doubt our intuition so much, that we no longer listen to or even believe in our intuition. Your intuition is that little voice inside you that knows before you even think about anything. What little voice I hear you say. It is that little voice that just asked that question. Begin to trust your intuition once again; it is one of the most powerful forces any leader can have at their disposal.
No matter how great a motivational speaker may be. The motivation and uplifting emotional feelings they bring out in their audience, only lasts for a very short time after the event is over. I am sure you have experienced this where you have attended an event, with a fantastic motivational speaker, who managed to get the crowd behind him or her, as they pushed people’s emotions to almost breaking point. They stirred up emotions and energy in the room and got everyone feeling like they were unstoppable.
Any superficial motivation that presents outside of you will be fleeting at best and offer very little or no long term, enduring inspiration at all. For motivation or inspiration to offer you any long term value, it must either help you to answer the question; “Why is this important to me” or help you to reinforce your already well-established vision of what you want in your future. It must: 1) Help you ignite your inner power 2) Help you to either create or drive your crystal clear vision of the future. 3) Inspire you to take action.r
Imagine the quality of work you would be able to produce, if you woke up every day challenging the way you did things yesterday, where you looked for ways to constantly improve your performance, by doing things just a little better each day. This philosophy of having a commitment to on-going and never ending improvement, where you strive to be just a little better today than you were yesterday. Will see you make tiny incremental improvements every day, which will add up to remarkable growth over time.
Is there such a thing as failure? You can only fail if you choose to give up and stop trying. As long as you are pressing on, taking action and trying to achieve anything, all you have encountered is an unresolved roadblock, challenge or difficulty.
The rapid rate of transformation and the growth of knowledge all around us has made the consistent acquisition of knowledge a necessity. In the past the select few people, who engaged in the practice of constant and never ending improvement, where they committed to continue learning and growing throughout their lives, were guaranteed to succeed and excel. The rapid rate of change and constant new developments of products, new technologies and the ever shortening of the business cycle has made a commitment to on-going growth and development a necessity today.
Everything that happens in our world is merely an event. We give each one, meaning and get to decide whether it is positive or negative. For example: If two young children climb onto a roller coaster. One is an adrenalin junky and loves being out of control. The other is a more serious child, who likes their feet firmly on the ground. Any time they are not completely in control, they feel overwhelmed and in a state of discomfort. The roller coaster races around the track, the adrenalin junky cannot get enough.
I was sitting with a client the other day discussing a really difficult situation, he was experiencing in his company. He had been in various managerial positions for over 20 years and the challenge he was facing was caused by his naive approach to leadership. The error he had made was a really basic mistake; which he had made a few times before and I would have expected to have observed in a person much younger, with very little business experience.
