The Gospel of Jesus Christ started out as a small spark in the Galilean hillsides nearly two thousand years ago, but rapidly blazed across all geographical barriers to become the world's most well-known Good News in the history of humanity. A brief overview of how the Gospel spread will not only empower us to be a part of its spread but will help us see that the Gospel is propelled by divine power.
Self awareness is truly the cornerstone of emotional intelligence. It underlies all the other aspects of self motivation and emotional intelligence. Self awareness is about knowing one’s own emotions. It's about understanding your thinking patterns and knowing what thinking pattern you ...
In todayâs fast pace lifestyle, many women are often caught up in what is appropriately called the âSuperwoman Syndrome.â These women are constantly striving to accomplish everything possible in a perfect manner and have not learned how to put themselves as a top priority. Most often, they do not have the time or energy to devote to themselves. Even when having the time, they may consider themselves selfish to indulge in self-pampering or to simply provide themselves qu
“All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self-contradictory. I was naïve. I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer. It took me a long time and much painful boomeranging of my expectations to achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with: that I am nobody but myself.” -- Ralph Ellison
Here's a riddle for you: throughout the history of humankind, people have been able to tame wolves, chimpanzees, tigers, lions, dolphins, killer whales, seals, and cobras. But there is one thing--one very small thing--each of us have that we have not been able to tame. Do you know what it is? If you guess, "the tongue," you are absolutely correct. How many times have you regretted saying something the instant you said it? How many times have your words hurt a friend or a family member without you meaning to?
When you wake up each morning to the sweet melodies of birds, how do you feel? When you admire the spectacular spectrum of sunsets, are you awed? When sunlight warms your skin and gentle summer breezes softly kiss you, are you not delighted? Do you not enjoy the fragrance of wildflowers, the sound of ocean waves splashing, the chirps of crickets at night, and the claps of thunders during a heavy storm?

I have told people thousands of times that they have just got to ask for what they want. And I find that most people only have one problem with this directive: They do not know what they want! And I find that most people only have one problem with this directive: They do not know what they want! You Cannot Ask for What You Want Unless You Know What It Is!
How do you feel when you picture your loved ones in your mind? Does thinking about your good friends and family bring a smile upon your face? Now, picture in your mind those you really don't like. How do you feel when you think about your "enemies"? Do you feel angry, sad, hurt, frustrated, annoyed, or confused? While many of us don't have real enemies, we do have people who we dislike greatly for whatever reason.
What is salvation? Why did Jesus Christ have to die in order to save us? And from what are we actually saved?
Why do people have to suffer? Do some people simply have bad luck or is there a good reason why we suffer? Why do we all get sick, grow old, and die? And is all suffering really bad, or is it actually a blessing in disguise, somehow? Here, I will outline some of the reasons why we suffer: • Suffering strengthens and prepares us. The trials and tribulations we face daily, some more often and severe than others, are exercise machines for our spirits.

All the major accomplishments I've achieved in my twenty-five years swam through my head at lightning speed. Which is my proudest achievement? I could tell her that I was most proud of mastering grade level after only about 180 days of school attendance.
Have you ever wondered where evil came from? Did Jehovah God Almighty create evil? No, of course not; Jehovah did not create evil itself; evil results only when His principles are not followed. Evil is simply the absence of goodness, just as darkness is the absence of light. Long before Jehovah created Earth and humankind, He created spirit beings known as angels who lived with Him in the spiritual realm where He calls home. He gave angels the freedom to make their own decisions, the same kind of free will He has given to us.
When was the last time you took time out of your busy schedule to write your spouse a letter? Not just a list of to-dos or a grocery list, but a love letter saying how much you appreciate them and value having them in your life. We get caught up in everyday life, that we allow our marriages to miss the little things that can sometimes over shadow the very things we think are major problems.
To lose your partner is always painful. It is a heartache, any way you look at it. It hurts. Your body aches and your broken heart feels like it is going to explode. You are face to face with the most important relationship decision in your life.
Are you a gardener? If you are, you know that growing colorful flowers and crunchy veggies require your love, care, time, and effort. You need to work the soil to make it just right for the seeds, water them regularly, and patiently wait for nature to do its work. When I was around eleven, I planted a couple of marigold seeds in a flower pot that was small enough to be placed in front of me on my table next to my bed. I watered it regularly and kept a journal, recording down the date I sew the seeds, and listing its growth progress.
Jesus said, "the Father is in me, and I in the Father." (John 10:38, WEB.) What did he mean by that? Does that mean that God and Jesus are one and the same? We can understand what Jesus meant by reading what Jesus said to his disciples next: "In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you." (John 14:20)
Prayer is communication with Jehovah God Almighty; it is a two-way conversation. So when you pray to your Father in heaven, He will answer you according to His will. However, there are hindrances to prayers--things and behaviors that will prevent an answered prayer. Here, let us briefly go over some of these hindrances, so we can learn to eliminate them in our lives in order for our prayers to be answered next time. Disbelief "But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.

Question: Why didn't God prevent Adam and Eve from eating the forbidden fruit? Answer: I will have to answer this question in assumption, something I rarely do, because we often waste precious time when we speculate about things we don't know. To know every "why" and "how" would make us God.
Teaching his disciples how to pray to God, God's beloved Son, Jesus Christ, began the model prayer with, "Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name." (Matthew 6:9, American Standard Version) When we pray "Hallowed be thy name," we are seeking sanctification and glory for God's name. Putting this at the start of his model prayer, Jesus indicated that our first priority in life should be glorifying God's name. But in order to glorify God's name, we first need to know what it is. The Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures) tells us God's personal name nearly seven thousand times.
Once upon a time, Jehovah God Almighty created a paradise garden on the newly formed Earth, which became the home of Adam and Eve, the first two people who ever lived. God told them to be fruitful and multiply and be the masters over the Earth and all the living creatures of the skies, lands, and oceans. His purpose for His new creations was to fill the paradise with happy people who would walk in fellowship with their Heavenly Father. Adam and Eve had everything they could possibly ever dream of, all without labor, pain, or fear, for Jehovah supplied all abundantly.
âNothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan âpress onâ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.â --Wolfgang von Goethe Persistence is the spiritual grace that allows you to con
Many of us go through life not really having a plan. I have been guilty of this as well. What is your plan for your life? What is your plan for your family? What is your plan to achieve your goal? The first two questions are for you to really ponder and think about. The plan for your goal, it starts right now. Questions to consider when developing your plan to achieve your goal: What training will I need if any? Who will need to assist me? What resources will I need? What roadblocks are associated with my goal? How will I get through them?
Do you believe in yourself? Are you shaky about your capabilities? Do you constantly rely on affirmation from others about what you can or cannot do? Sometimes people will ignite your passion for achievement by believing, championing and supporting you. But then a time comes in the journey of ...
Imagine your best friend has just invited you to his wedding, and told you to invite everyone you know to the special event. Those who hear of the event will be the ones who are lucky enough to attend it. If you do not share this good news, you will be guilty of not obeying the order. So it is up to you to tell your friends, family, co-workers about the mandate. You may even need to travel out of your town or province to spread the word. The fate of your friends--whether they will be privileged enough to attend the wedding--lies in your hands. What would you do?
I often say, "Everything passes, and so will your current negative situation. When you are angry or upset, keep in mind that it will pass, so why waste your energy on something that will be gone tomorrow?" Now you may think, "Wait a minute, does every negative situation really pass? Did your blindness pass?" If that was your line of thoughts, you are not alone--I've had some people bring up similar points. Certainly, my blindness has not passed, nor have my physical disabilities.
Are you able to feel at peace even when life bombards you with hardship? If not, how can you achieve peace when life gets tough? In January, Tammy Brackett, a music publicist/writer, experienced the financial pain that many Americans are going through now. "My income was reduced by 2/3 because of a job layoff," says Tammy. Yet, she was able to feel at peace. When Donna Ratner, a certified holistic health counselor, was 14, her 22-year-old brother died suddenly in a swimming pool accident. When she was 23, living in New York City, she got held up at gunpoint.
On November 5 when the Alabama-Crimson Tide played the LSU-Tigers, Alabama had many missed opportunities; they missed four field goals. These missed field goals proved critical since LSU ultimately won by three points. Losing by such a narrow margin made the pain of missing the field goals hurt even more. We have all experienced missed opportunities. However, it is important to keep playing the game. When you fumble or make a mistake, you have to think like a football player
Understand that past experiences can pave a path into your purpose when you are willing to learn from the mistakes and then let them go. When you harbor anger, bitte ess and embarrassment from the ills of your past, you stay stuck in a place that blocks any growth potential. You stay rooted in the past, letting the present pass you by. Don't stay stuck in the past. You lose focus when you live in the past, when you hold onto the baggage of all the failures you've made in your life.

How do we get saved? What are required for us to receive salvation? Since salvation is a gift from Jehovah God Almighty through His Son, Jesus Christ, accepting this gift is easy, not tricky at all. We are saved the moment we 1) repent of anything bad we've ever done and 2) accept Jesus as Savior. Accepting Jesus as Savior means that we have accepted his teachings and diligently applied them to our lives. Simply believing in Jesus does not give us salvation.
Do you believe in Jehovah God Almighty? If you answered "Yes," your answer would match about half of the human population, because Christians, Muslims, and Jews, all believe in the same God, Jehovah (though Muslims use the name Allah for God). While I do not doubt the depth or strength of their belief, I do have to wonder: if so many people believe in God, why do we experience so many man made problems in life? If we believe in God, that means that we should know His principles for living in a good way, so we ought to be able to live well, right?
Question #1: Yahweh (Jehovah) God Almighty operates on this principle in His justice system: "You must take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, and bruise for bruise." (Exodus 21:23-25). What does this principle mean?
When we admire a beautiful painting, we know a gifted painter is behind the masterpiece. When we drive by a brick house, we know skilled builders must have built it. And when we talk on the phone, we are grateful for its invention. But when we see a blossoming rose, a rainbow after refreshing spring showers, and eagles soaring amidst blue skies, why do many of us deny a Creator of such magnificence? Do these wonders not far surpass the inventions we mere humans have created?

Throughout my career in the military I have come across a variety of tall tales about eating and exercise. The extent of misinformation is so great that you’d think we were dealing with Cold War propaganda. If a lie is told frequently enough it is treated as the truth. Seven Myths about Eating and Weight Loss Eating Myth #1: Eating fat is bad for you. The Truth: Eat fat, Soldier! It’s good for you. Just don’t eat too much, and stay away from bad fat. All unrepentant wicked people will be cast into hell, where the fire will burn for eternity. But what does "eternal" fire of hell mean? What does the Bible say? Let us study what the Bible says below about the condition we know as "hell:" 1) Jesus said, "…fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28, American Standard Version) Here, we see two things: a) *Both* body and soul will go to hell, contrary to the popular belief that only the soul will go to hellrnb) That the soul will be *destroyed* in hell, not being burned for eternity.
Top Five Basic Stretches to Promote Flexibility There are many views about stretching and its benefits. If done properly, stretching can be a relaxing and stress relieving experience. Some say that we should stretch before exercising. Others say we should stretch after exercising and still others emphasize stretching before and after. There is no substantial evidence about the benefits of stretching as it pertains to exercise or that it helps prevent injury.
Do you desire to know the truth? How valuable do you believe the truth is? Nowadays, people believe there is no absolute truths--it's just a matter of personal choices. When we believe that everything can be true, then it means that we should agree that stealing and murder are okay because that may be true to some people.
Greg Gregory shares his personal story about how he lost over 60 pounds. He is 42 years old and did not really begin his exercise and weight-loss journey until the age of 39. Fifteen years of gradual weight gain took him from his high school weight of 190 pounds all the way up to 262. He is self-employed, travels a lot and has a predominantly sedentary job. At 6’ 4”, his present weight is 202 pounds. Greg gradually lost 60 pounds over the three years of regular exercise and making eating adjustments along the way. He went from a pant size of 44 to his present size 33.
The very first two humans were made in the image of God. But what does that really mean? Made in the "image of God" simply means that people are spiritually like Jehovah God Almighty to some extent. He has given humans some of the spiritual aspects He has: the ability to think and reason, an innate knowledge of right and wrong, a conscience, a full spectrum of emotions, and the need for spiritual things in order to be truly happy.
We often focus on the question: "Do you believe in God?" Yet we seldom go on to the crucial question: "Why is it important to KNOW God?" Why do we desire or need to identify that there is a Creator? Why is it important to know Him? We have the longing and the duty to know the one and only true God Almighty, whose personal name is Jehovah (Yahweh), in order to achieve complete and absolute fulfillment. Knowing that we have a Creator satisfies our curiosity about our origins. It answers the most important questions we have about life: From where have we come? What is our purpose?
Do you feel fulfilled? If you have spent time trying to find fulfillment in material possessions, in traveling and sightseeing, in good food and fine clothing, in fame and power, have you been able to find what you're looking for? If not, do you know why not?
A few nights ago I dropped by a local restaurant to pick up some dinner to take home. While I waited patiently in the lobby for my food to finish being prepared, I noticed a sign on the wall. It said, When I work I work hard When I sit I sit loose When I think I fall asleep I read it again…and again. Then asked myself, What on earth does that mean? This proverb may be familiar to some of you, but it was unknown to me prior to reading it. Below is the lesso I got from the

War-Game Your Health War-gaming is a technique used to visualize the battlefield before going to battle. Several courses of action are then developed and played through to the end to assess what the probable outcome would be. This allows the commander and his staff to further refine a course or courses of action which are all focused on accomplishing the mission. Not a shot has been fired, and there is no risk, since this is really a mental exercise designed to maximize success and minimize loss of life and casualties.
In a small town lived a young Christian woman named Erin who whole-heartedly followed the Bible's commandment, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Leviticus 19:18, WEB) Whenever her neighbors were in trouble, they could always count on her for support, be it emotional, spiritual, or material. One day, her next-door neighbor and long-time friend Bob asked to borrow some money from her for an emergency. Remembering Jesus' words, "Give to him who asks you, and don't turn away him who desires to borrow from you," she un hesitantly wrote out a check for the needed amount. (Matthew 5:42)r

If I grant you one wish, asking you, "Do you want money or joy?" which one would you choose? Yes, you can only pick one. Now, carefully think it over. I know what's going through your mind; you're thinking, "If I pick money, I'll be able to have joy, too." Certainly, money can buy you almost everything, but can it bring you true joy?

“No person was ever honoured for what he received. Honour has been the reward for what he gave.” Calvin Coolidge When we go through life we subscribe to different value systems; some people place much emphasis on having a lot of money. Some consider relationships to be more important than everything else. There are those who consider outward appearance and making a good impression to be the most important possessions, sometimes without considering the cardinal principles of character.
Question: Doesn't God know everything? Isn't He all-powerful? So even when He did not create evil, He could have squished it down in an eyeblink. He knew it was coming and exactly from whom and every detail. And He could have saved Jesus from suffering, why didn't He? Why didn't God prevent Satan from creating evil? Answer: Jehovah God does know everything; He can see into the future, etc. So He could have easily seen what trouble Satan would cause everyone. So why didn't God prevent Satan?

What is love? Is it a fluttering of the heart? A giddy feeling? A mind intoxicated by someone's charm? Many would answer yes to all three descriptions. We are all familiar with the story of handsome guy meeting beautiful girl and falling in love in each other. But what if the girl grows old--and we all do--and loses her beauty? What if she gains weight, experiences mood swings, and develops annoying little habits?
For most of us as children, the word “forgiveness” was a daily part of our upbringing. We were told to turn the other cheek, and to forgive and forget. But more often than not, those instructions only applied to other people – many of whom wanted forgiving! I don’t often recall being told to forgive myself, or even being presented with the idea that it was okay to do so. For most of us, we were constantly reminded of our mistakes, by people who were constantly reminded of theirs; being told that it was the only way to learn from them.
Imagine someone you do not particularly like coming up to you, and in front of all your friends, begins to passionately accuse you of things you have never thought of, let alone have done. How would you react in such circumstances? In such cases, maintaining temperance is the key; otherwise, you could worsen an already unpleasant situation. But what is temperance?
When my grandmother, Gammie, visited me in Berlin, Germany she was well over 80 years old. One day we were about to scale four flights of stairs. She looks at me with a grin and says, “Come on. I’ll race you.” No, she didn’t beat me up the stairs, but she did have a brisk pace all the way up. Gammie passed away at the age of 101. She was also well known for keeping her composure. As she was preparing to fall asleep for the final time, she makes one last adjustment of her wig and then passes away peacefully. What was the main reason for her living so long? Was it her genes?
I recently received an email that prompted me to answer a poll about what I feared most. I didn't reply to the email because my biggest fear at that moment was the fear of receiving more unsolicited email. However, I did start thinking about the subject of fear. What are we afraid of? What is fear? What can we do about it? We all have fears at one time or another and to one degree or another. I did a little research of my own and found that next to terrorist, fear of public speaking and fear of success ranked high on the list of things people fear most. Fear of Public Speaking
A funny thing seems to happen around this time of year; I've seen it again and again. At a time when we all should be enjoying beaches and barbeques, sunshine and surf, many people's moods seem to turn a bit blue. The summer romance hasn't panned out the way you thought it would, friends are all busy doing their own thing, the kids are a handful, and soo September will roll around and what has changed from last year? These are the words I hear echoed from clients everywhere.
Motivation is a peculiar and complex state. What motivates one person can be very different than what motivates another even though they are striving for the same goal. Some people can motivate other people but only to a certain degree. At the end of the day, you still have to work out a way to get yourself motivated. But when everything looks bleak and all you want to do is to surrender, where do you find the will to carry on? Begin with winning the battle in your mind.
Body Types - Do You Like How You Look? CAN YOU MORPH INTO A DIFFERENT BODY TYPE? Did you know that there are three different body types? All of us fit into one of these types, or we may have elements of several. They are: Endomorph is a heavy body with a soft and rounded shape. Mesomorph is a well-developed, muscular body. Ectomorph is a long and lean body. Bill Clinton, John Goodman, and Roseanne Barr are endomorphs. A old Schwarzenegger, Daryl Hannah, and Kevin Costner are mesomorphs. Mia Farrow, Anthony Perkins, and Fred Astaire are ectomorphs.

(Romans 10:13, WEB)
Everyone needs encouragement. So many people in this world feel discouraged, pressed in, cornered, unworthy, unlovable, or completely overwhelmed by the circumstances of their lives. One way to do this is to talk with them, give them a clear pictur
There is no doubt that communications is the most influencing aspect in our lives. Via good communications, we achieve peace, we have good families and we achieve success at work. On the contrary, few words in bad communications lead to war, unstable families and failing business. The question is, how do we define good communications? In another way, what makes communications good? I have worked on a formula that I tested during one of my project on all employees, contractors, clients and even family.
One day, during his earthly ministry, Jesus and his disciples got into a boat to cross a lake. As they sailed, a violent storm suddenly raged, tossing the boat around like a toy and quickly filling it with water. Frantic, the disciples went over to Jesus, who was peacefully asleep in the stern, and cried, "Master, master, we are dying!" (Luke 8:24, WEB) Upon waking, Jesus rebuked the wind and the sea, commanding, "Peace, be still!" (Mark 4:39) Immediately, the wind and the sea calmed.
Do you produce good fruits? If so, are they sweet and nutritious, or are they shining on the outside but wormy on the inside? Good fruits? Well, I'm talking about the good works you do. But how can good works be wormy? "Good" works are wormy and rotten when they are done with the wrong motive. They are truly good and nutritious when they are done with the right motive.
