Chinese yoga or qi gong (pronounced chi kung), is a powerful way to release the dampness and heat that summer time brings. One of my favorite qigong forms is Primordial Wuji Qigong. The form I practice is technically mine in origins, but the philosophy behind it belongs to a long tradition of qigong cultivation. I became interested in it during the early 2000’s. At that time, I was studying the writings of a variety of qigong teachers: Roger Jahnke, Jerry Alan Johnson, Michael Winn, Daniel Reid, Solala Towler, and Ken Cohen. Several of them had written extensively or produced videos on the Primordial qigong.

Qigong has proven an effective treatment for inhibiting or destroying leukemia cells in mice and certain other types of human cancer cells. The studies here fall into two broad classes: in vitro and in vivo studies. Typically, the in-vitro studies involved randomly dividing the laboratory-prepared cancer cell cultures into different groups, with one group being treated with exte al Qigong, plus one or more control groups that did not receive any Qigong treatment. Sometimes, one group was treated by sham Qigong for the same amount of time as the group receiving authentic Qigong treatment.

It is nearing the end of a week long journey to the beautiful Caribbean island of Trinidad. It was a journey to support a friend and colleague in the martial arts with his work with children and martial arts in the Trinidad primary and secondary schools. I am sitting, just beginning to take breakfast at "Alicia's Palace" a wonderful island hotel that is tucked away, in a deep cut tropical mountain valley, in northern Trinidad. To reach you have to drive three to four kilometers up a very narrow, twisting and winding, switch-backed road, up "Lady Chancellor Hill."
Tantric Qigong, Taiji, Multiple Sclerosis and the Immune System Multiple Sclerosis is a condition where one’s immune system dysfunctionally attacks the fatty sheath that insulates nerves. Just like an electrical wire that has been stripped of its insulation, one’s nerves start to short out. The nerve impulses never reach their terminus, which causes those afflicted to begin to lose coordination. There is still no conclusive etiology for Multiple Sclerosis, though statistically the group at greatest risk consists of Caucasian women born in the northern United States.
How does Tantric Qigong™ work? It can be said that Qigong works by uniting heavenly and earthly energies. While Western science does not yet have a full explanation of how Qigong does this, it most likely that it works by amplifying your personal Chi (Qi, life force, vitality, Ki) by drawing in earthly and atmospheric / solar ionic energy to supplement your existing vitality.

The Mystery of the Solar Plexus For many years I have seen various charts and books written on the subject of the chakras. There seems to be some general confusion as to the location and spiritual function of the solar plexus. I have seen some charts put its location as low in the body as the navel, or as high as the heart. Its actual physical center is near the end of the ste um. Like its physical location, the energetic character of the solar plexus also seems a little confusing to many authors and teachers.
Tantric Qigong, Mindfulness, and Flow Mindfulness, which is often thought of as a Buddhist concept, is really about being Present. Presencing is one form of self-inquiry (which can be done as a meditation or as coaching) as is Tantric Qigong. These art forms are about getting out of your head, your mental analysis, comparison and judgment, and becoming present to what really IS. It sounds simple, and it is. However, this is not very easy for most people.
Characteristics of the 3rd Chakra Characteristics of the animal third chakrar As an extension of the reptilian / mammalian fight or flight reaction, the third chakra manifests the energies of control, manipulation, stubbornness, anger, hatred and violence. What a wonderful weekend and what a beautiful day it is today. Sun, leaves and 60 degrees, an awesome autumn day in the North East of the USA. Stepping outside this morning on my front porch I took a deep breath of the leaf scented fall air and said to myself “This is what feeling better and qigong are all about, the ability and capability to be aware and enjoy the reality we have created for ourselves.”
IT IS A BEAUTIFUL SUNNY AND SNOWY DAY HERE! As I look outside I once again realize that my reality manifests from the future infinite field of possibilities through my words, my deeds, and my beliefs. I find increasingly that it only takes a simple positive adjustment of what I believe, what I do and what I say to create my awesome reality. As a being of spirit jou eying through this physical plane I see and experience this manifestation more everyday!
Presencing™: Growth, Meditation, Manifestation Presencing™ is a method of self-inquiry that scans the body, mind, and emotions for what is Present at that time. What is present is often the tip of the iceberg, a barely recognizable “feeler” put out by your higher self to try and get your attention.
Let’s face it, the United States is a drug culture. 14 millio Americans use substances such as marijuana, PCP, and cocaine. 104 millio Americans drink alcohol, and 65.5 million use tobacco.* Almost everyone will be afforded the opportunity to use pharmaceutical drugs, many of which also have addictive or habituative characteristics. Do you ever say to yourself, “I just don't want to!,” “I'm just too tired!,” or “I can do that tomorrow!.” Does PROCRASTINATION creep into your life and you just don't seem to get things accomplished? There was a German philosopher, Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, that said “Seize this very minute what you can do or dream you can do, and begin it. Boldness has genius, magic and power in it. Only engage, and the mind will grow heated. Begin, and the work will be completed.”

How Do You Breathe? Put your hand on your chest and a hand on your belly. Take a deep breath. Which hand moves more? The top hand or the bottom hand? When we are born we are belly breathers. Watch a baby breathe and you will see that his whole body moves, butespecially his belly. In kindergarten we are still belly breathers. By fifth grade we have converted almost 100% to upper chest breathers. This learned breathing pattern is an unconsciously modeled for us by our parents and community. We change to match our high stress society. Belly Breathing is our natural way of breathing.
You’re in a convenience store, examining a can of Spam in one of the aisles. Suddenly a hooded man bursts through the door, pulls out a .45, and waves it in the cashier’s face demanding the contents of the cash register. You begin breathing shallowly, from the chest, as fear for you own life pervades you. Thoughts pinball through your mind: Will he shoot the cashier—and then me? Am I to die in a convenience store of all places? Where are the police? The cashier complies; the robber bolts through the door. Your breathing slows and deepens and the thoughts in your mind slow.

The 3rd Chakra: The Tower of Ego & The Fall The Tower of Egor The over compensation for survival challenges and the perception of lack in the material or emotional realms leads to the quest for dominance. This makes sense on the animal level as the best hunters or providers will ensure their own survival and pass on their genetic material. If you are say, a wolf, this can benefit others in your pack because the alpha male really can only eat so much of a kill; the rest is shared by the pack. In the human realm this is often not so.

You find yourself selflessly creating more and more space in your life for the person and doing more to demonstrate a growing admiration and love for this person.
The Spiritual Function of Yearning The first three chakras compose a unit; a triad of our animal drives. At this stage in our evolution, it is easy to observe that, as a species, humans are still controlled by these animal motivations. There are certainly many enlightened buddhas, saints, and prophets that have appeared over the millennia, but the vast majority of people are still centered within their animal heritage, though we can see that humans have certainly invented many complex variations of the basic animal instincts.

The sense of yearning is a coded message that the soul is sending to our ego. Yearning takes on different characteristics depending on one’s state of evolution, one’s level of consciousness. To the individual awakening to higher consciousness, first the physical necessities must be met. Then desire drives us until the social / emotional domain is filled. Yet a yearning remains. It cannot be satiated by any quantity of money or sex, romance or power. We desire to attain these things, yet when we do we eventually remain unsatisfied.
