My father gets his sense of discipline from the military; he's a retired veteran. I never had the urge to join the military - goes against my pacifist nature - but I do have to admire the discipline that the military instills in its troops. Along with the weapons training, and war games, the Privates are taught basic health disciplines to make sure they are taking care of themselves, and to make the connection that without their health they cannot survive in the battlefield. Here is my list of the 7 basic daily disciplines from the military that we should all instill in our own lives:r

How good are you at keeping your word? Many of us try very hard to keep our commitments to others. We try to call if we say we will. We make every effort to show up when others are counting on us. We try to get projects done on time. We don't promise things we can't deliver. We want our word to be worth something. That's part of living with integrity. Unfortunately, many of us are not quite as good at keeping our commitments to ourselves. How many times have you said "I'm going to. . ." only to have that intention fall away?
What to do when life throws you a curve ball: Keep batting and don't give up. Learn to hit them right out into the stands and run all the bases for a home run. Hear the crowd go wild. Feel the glory inside that you didn't throw down your bat in defeat. We are all pitched a few curve balls in life. Some can throw your whole game off if you aren't prepared to deal with them.
Do you want to feel more love and connection in your life? One way to accomplish this is to have more conversations! It's that simple. Think about it... Have you ever been in elevator with a dozen people and nobody said a word to each other? Why do we sometimes hesitate and stop ourselves from initiating a conversation?
You’ve worked so hard to move forward, and you are finally manifesting the life you wanted. You’ve learned how to let go of self-sabotaging habits. But what do you do when what’s pulling you back is someone you love, or an old client to whom you have dedicated lots of time? I am talking about those moments in life when you have crossed the threshold into a new world. You left dysfunctional habits behind and stepped into your dream.
Hi there Faith-Seekers!! Faith is a word that is talked about a lot in personal development. Many of us may conceptually understand what faith is. We may even make conscious efforts to employ faith consistently in our lives. But do we really utilize faith in ALL areas of our lives? We may not. We may have faith in certain areas of our lives, yet unconsciously lack it in other areas. What would your life look like if you had faith in ALL areas of your life? How would you feel, what would you accomplish?
Some people are more flexible in their thinking and the way they do things. They seem to flow through changes quite easily and effortlessly whereas for others it can be extremely challenging. If you have ever taken a Yoga class or know a bit about it, you realize that you wouldn’t start at an intermediate class, you would start with the beginners.
Are you an unwilling, unconscious magnet for toxic people? If you often find yourself dealing with toxic people or if the effects of toxic encounters affect you more and for a longer time than they affect others, then you may be a Toxic Magnet. Just because you have a couple of toxic relationships that need addressing or because you know some toxic people does not mean that you are a Toxic Magnet. Toxic people are everywhere. You are bound to meet a couple of every month, at least. Whether you hook up with them or not is another matter.
Individuals who live on or around major fault lines are wise to keep in mind the possibility of an earthquake, and take appropriate precautions. But if the fear of a potential quake that is designed to serve as a warning becomes an obsessive phobia, an individual should seek help from a qualified professional.
When we are in the midst of a crisis, it’s not always easy to see the bigger picture because we are consumed with emotions and often overwhelmed. At the time you might only be seeing the immediate situation and not the ways you are being supported through this turmoil. We don’t always recognize the “good” in the “bad”, so to speak. Our egos like to take a strong hold in keeping us stuck in the situation and not wanting our eyes and hearts to open to the bigger picture. There is more to someone/something than meets the eye.
Hi there everyone!! Why is it sometimes difficult to awaken people to what is right in front of them? I’ve distinguished four distinct places someone may be in their awakening journey. Similar to understanding personality styles, understanding these four paradigms will help us relate with more people. And, it may accelerate the awakening of our planet! Click the "Play" button on the following web page. http://PlayAudioMessage.com/play.asp?m=83204&f=WFVHMV&ps=14&c=33CCFF&pm=2&h=29 Or, you can read the story here... The Power of Words "The Power of Words" was the theme amongst the various speaking engagements I had scheduled in Atlanta last year. Little did I know that I would personally go through a challenge, that had me live what it is that I teach. I had an engagement Wednesday evening that I was hoping to get confirmed.
Hey there everyone!! Thanks. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Now, why do you think this means a lot to me? Take a moment and think about it. What got you to start reading this? If you don't read "every" post, what got you to start reading this time? Was it simply because I asked you to? Consider how powerful a tool "asking" can be. We can get what we want sometimes simply by making a request. Let people know that what you're asking for is important to you, and they will want to contribute in some way.
Feedback is a tricky thing. First of all, a critique or criticism is not necessarily the same things as feedback. What separates criticism and feedback is the intent. The intention of a critique or criticism is to convey an opinion. Some critiques are negative, some positive, some articulate, and some are crass. A critique is neither wrong, nor right. It's just an opinion. A critique would be something like, "I hated your story," or "Your story really moved me."
Hi there everyone!! I remember sitting in a subway car on my way home from grade nine. I had an 88% average and I was making good money at my job, yet I was depressed out of my mind. I wasn't in a rush to get home -- I would stay on the subway for hours, not really caring about the day, caring about who I was, or caring about where I was going. My eyes were closed, my head was leaning against the wall, and my walkman was playing lyrics of rappers such as The Ghetto Boys, 2 Live Crew, and NWA. Where was my life headed?
Earl Nightingale said, "Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savoured." What wonderful words of wisdom. Are you living by them?
In light of current biological research, it seems that the phrase "madly in love" is not merely a metaphor. There is ample evidence to suggest that falling in love is physiologically similar to mental illness. Disorders like OCD are associated with an imbalance of serotonin, and when studied, researchers discovered that both obsessives and lovers had serotonin levels 40% below normal. Hmmm. So why is it that we often recover from the illness of love?
Admiring Apple for only its well-designed products and clever commercials is only scratching the surface. Apple is actually a great case study on brilliant business modeling. Apple treats every product as its own business unit. What this means is that every product line could exist as its own standalone store. Even though all Apple products fit into each other in some way, every Apple product also has to standalone in terms of generating revenue.
Hi there everyone!! Mythology can be intriguing to study. The stories that are portrayed in myths may be fictional, but there is usually some truth that has allowed the story to be passed down from generation to generation. That's what "myths" are -- they are not completely true or completely false. Here we will discuss the true and false elements of common myths in personal development. Myth #1: Personal development is all just about positive thinking. Positive thinking is a component of personal development.
Ladies, you get to experience greater pleasure in your own body, for yourself, for your awakening and delight! Replenish your own self with luscious pleasure, delight and nurturing. By spinning gratitude around your G-spot, all the parts of your body that have been neglected, abandoned or forgotten get to be filled, appreciated, cherished and honored. This depth of full body pleasure awakens your inner aliveness and brings great inner joy, contentment and satisfaction. A woman’s sexual energy is round, plump, gooey, oozing, and rippling. Let your sexual energy flow. What turns you on?
Hi Everyone!! Fear Factors: 4 Simple Steps to Feel the Fear...And Do It Anyway! 1. Feel It. This can be the most difficult step. It's natural to want to get past our fear and not feel any anxiety. In our attempts to "overcome" fear, we tend to sometimes ignore it or suppress it... That doesn't always work. All our fears have a specific purpose, and the only way to uncover a fear's purpose is to start by accepting it -- by feeling the fear. 2. Express It. Talk to someone about your fear. This can be a friend, a colleague, or just someone you trust.
I recently created a meme saying, "Allow People to Align With Your Truth," and thought I'd explain what I mean by this. It all starts with aligning to yourself first, meaning acknowledging what you want and need to be happy and fulfilled. Knowing your truth will help you communicate it to those around you so that you ...
Hi there everyone!! There’s chatter in our minds. There are things we say to ourselves without realizing it. This is our internal communication. Think about it. Are you saying things to yourself right now as you read this? Are you asking yourself questions? Are you pausing and contemplating? This is your internal communication. The problem is, sometimes this communication has nothing better to do than to make things up. It makes up the meanings of what is going on all around us. We make everything mean something. This is called a “racket.” Here’s an example.
Hey All You Big Givers!! Six years ago, I wrote an article called 7 Totally Different Ways to Give Big this Thanksgiving!! Since then, I’ve come to learn that people need to know what giving is NOT. “The Secret” would say, don’t focus on what you don’t want. However, understanding these distinctions does help us more powerfully understand what it is we do want. Giving is Not Reciprocation If we give something be
Hey All You Big Givers!! The first thing we may think of when we think of giving, is money (or gifts and presents which cost money). However, some of us may feel financially constrained . . . The second thing we may think of when we think of giving, is our time. With fast-paced lifestyles and busy schedules, perhaps that's a tall order, too. But wait! There are so many different ways to give. Don't think we need only time and money to make a difference. Here are five additional ways in which we can all give this holiday season: 1.
Many people feel emotions so intensely that the negative emotions disrupt their lives. They are so depressed, angry, fearful, hurt or guilty that they cannot enjoy their lives and be happy. This is a problem for them, as well as for those with whom they interact. The challenge is figure out what to do about your emotions. Often this means identifying what you are feeling and what to do about it; other times it means letting go of the negative emotion so that you are able to get the lessons from their life experiences and move on. Handling negative emotions is a three step process: 1.
Hey there everyone!! Remember the jingle, "Have you driven a Ford... lately?" My friend Paul Hoffman wrote that. Since then, he's moved into inspirational music, writing songs for stars in the personal development industry like Jack Canfield, Robert Allen, Janet Attwood, Mark Victor Hansen, Marci Shimoff, and T.
Have you ever felt like you are doing more to help your partner then they are to help themselves? Sometimes it just seems easier to take control and get things done on your own than ask your partner to do their part. And they may be completely happy with having you take care of business. But after all while, you may ...
I honestly believe that life will give us whatever we ask of it. There is so much abundance in the universe and all we need to do is ask. Ask and believe that we will receive that which we’ve asked for. There are so many people in the world that don’t know how to ask.
Most experts have been focusing their teachings on the great power of the subconscious mind to assimilate 1000 times more information than the conscious mind. The typical idea is that in order to have full access to the subconscious mind, you must be in a meditative state. Only then can you ...
It’s a new year … a new beginning, a time signaling the birth of NEW possibilities. Perhaps you have compiled a list of “new possibilities” to work toward this year. We all have a list of resolutions that we are hoping to manifest. And most of us are convinced that if we just work hard and push through, persevering with diligence, suffering and sacrifice, that we will then meet our goals of manifestation.
Hi there everyone!! Mark my words; this movie will change the destiny of our humanity: http://www.ordinarywords.com/humanity I've never been so passionate, so I am using strong language in this article. Know that every word is said with love. At age fifteen, I found myself at the Central Ontario Regional Parliament. I had absolutely no interest in politics, but I had nothing better to do. Surprisingly, for the first time in my life, I was surrounded by people who actually wanted to say “hello
Hi there everyone!! We are so overloaded with information today that we sometimes tend to generalize everything we learn. From the foundational book, The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peel, some people have generalized personal development to be “thinking positive all the time.” That simply isn’t true. Similarly, the notion that procrastination is to be avoided at all costs, is another glorified fallacy. Yes, there are many times when procrastination causes us undue stress, prolongs the inevitable, or negatively affects our productivity.
What does being true to yourself really mean? It means being able to be "you". The real you, whether you’re at the office or at home, or with friends or family, or with your partner or children, or with co-workers or your boss, or even with someone you don’t even know, you can be you. The question then is, do you know who you are? This is one of the age old questions, "Who are you?"
Ho'oponopono means to make things right - to correct wrongs with your relationships, including yourself. It is a beautiful process of clearing and forgiving that can set your free from many troubles, past regrets, problems with people in your life, sorrows you carry around and negativity you maintain with yourself. Ho'oponopono is a Huna technique. Huna is a very ancient system of knowledge that dates back thousands of years, to some of the earliest teachings we know of on Earth. For years it remained a secret, and as such the teachings have been kept very pure.
Hey there everyone!! The people that are part of my community love coming out to my parties, shows, and events. The experience people have is extraordinary, and they rave about it. Why? What’s so special about the people I know? I’ve been distinguishing what attributes of people’s being causes a great atmospheric energy. And I’ve distinguished three specific contexts that people in our community employ: 1. Being Proactive. This means that when you are at an event, you don’t just hang around the people you came with. You are proactive.
Solopreneurs by definition work alone. They are the masters of their domain. They take orders from no one, and they give orders to no one. They are 100% accountable for the successes and failures of their business. There is a thin line between having a successful solopreneur lifestyle and being the unemployed schmuck who sits at home in his pajamas pretending to be a solopreneur. A very thin line. Even though you work for yourself... scratch that... especially because you work for yourself, you have to make sure you are running your solopreneur endeavor as a regular business.
When I'm down, down in the dumps, everything feels bad. I'm not interested in anything, don't feel like connecting with others or even going outside, don't even try to move me. Pass the ice cream. It seems that I want anything that will actually make me feel even worse! The last thing I want is to see happy, joyous people, laughing and having everything I can't have. It's like a part of me is keeping me prisoner and won't let go. Wow! That's pretty dismal. And, the fact is, I truly am down.
101 Laws for Elevating Your Life to the Highest Level Laws are nothing new to us. Whether we realize it or not, we've been interacting with natural and man-made laws like physics, biology, chemistry, and mathematics from our very first moments in this world. When we were learning to walk, lost our balance, and fell down, that was an interaction with the laws of physics, gravity in particular. When we tried to grab a lit candle from the tip and got burnt, the physical laws of the elements made their introduction.
Hi there everyone!! Personal growth doesn’t just happen when we’re being trained, learning something new, or having a new type of experience. In situations where we give of ourselves unconditionally with love, with no expectations, we strengthen our character, raise our self-image, and positively contribute to our community. Here’s how to make volunteering work for you: 1. Integrate - Do it with friends This week, I’m doing volunteer work for the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind), working on a door-to-door campaign to raise money.
Hi there everyone!! Before we begin, let me say that I use the term "personal development" very loosely. Anything that we are doing in life that helps us to grow personally, is personal development. So, taking a new cooking class is personal development . . . Deciding to travel to a new country and experience the native culture is committing to personal development . . .
Hi there everyone!! We've all heard how regular exercise is vital for good health and a well-balanced lifestyle. Now, how many of us have tried to lose weight, buff ourselves up, or join a fitness program, only to be disappointed by the lack of results we see? Maybe we do workout periodically, but feel apathetic towards the development of our physical body?
Hi there everyone!! What has people feel empowered? What has people make things happen? Choice. We become conscious of the options that are available to us, we pick something, and then we act upon that choice. It's simple, but it's not easy. Are you with me? Let's take a closer look at what we're talking about. 1. Become Conscious Did you enjoy the summer? My friends like to be outside in the summer. That doesn't work for me because it's too bright for my eyes and my skin quickly sunbu s (due to albinism).
Hey there everyone!! The “T” in the SMART goal formula represents time-sensitivity. That is, our goals should have a specific date associated to them. However, there are two kinds of dates that can be associated with a goal. The first may be obvious. This is a hard date. A hard date is a calendar date denoting a specific moment in time. We strive to attain our goals, a specific measurable result, by this moment in time. The second kind of date is a reward-associated date. This is a dynamic moment in time that is represented by another achievement.

After a couple of years of therapy, I realized that talking about my feelings did not help alleviate my anger, profound sadness, or lift me from my chronic depression so I stopped going. I decided to find something else. I was not sure exactly "what" it was but anything that does not require "talking" about your problems and ingesting pills was worth pursuing. One of the first mind body healing workshops I signed up for was a meditation class. Meditation was harder tha I thought. I just could not sit still. I could not stop my mind from wondering.
Hi there everyone!! You've heard of living in the moment and the Power of Now, right? Does it make sense to live life that way 100% of the time? It actually wouldn't work. There are times when we want to contextualize the past, anticipate the future, and be conscious of impact that we would have on people we may or may not know. Since many of us are used to the mainstream media glorifying everything, I will use two extreme examples to illustrate this: A drug addict needs their next hit.
Many people have seen the movie "The Secret" by now, and many others have studied the Abraham-Hicks work, which goes into the process more in-depth. This is, without a doubt, very powerful work. Yet while some people benefit greatly from it, others just feel frustrated when they try to apply these principles. WHY? The Law of Attraction, as it’s stated in the Abraham-Hicks work, and in "The Secret," is absolutely accurate. The problem is how to change what it is that we are attracting, when what we have been attracting is not serving us.
Conscious consciousness ....is key! Every second of our day is about making choices. The choices we make are integrally related to our decision making. How aware are we, when we say yes, to the consequences of that decision?
You tell your children not to give in to peer pressure. But do YOU recognize the level of adult peer pressure you carry on your Psychic Shoulders? Is it taking a toll in your manifestation process? Find out! Let's start your exploration with a beautiful parable I use in the Toxic Relationships Self-help Kit: Love them, but LEAVE them. Tom Wright Many brilliant theorists, philosophers, self-help gurus, and psychiatrists, often speak of the "ego" as if "it" were something other than what it is: an illusion. An illusion is something that is real, but temporary. What we refer to as the ego has no permanent existence, any more than our bodies do. Anything that has no permanence, therefore, can be changed. Yet before anything can be changed, we have to first realize what it is. What, then, is "the ego."
Hi there everyone!! I'm a professional working in the personal development industry. For 18 years, I've participated in all the various disciplines of personal development programs. Even with this extensive knowledge of the industry, I still sympathize when I meet someone at a networking event who rolls their eyes and questions or criticizes the personal development industry when I tell them my profession. I have to admit that I can understand why they think that this industry is full of scams! To the unsuspecting public there are so many different programs out there!
It's probably a pretty safe bet to say that you have a desire to succeed in a home based business of your own. After all, there's a good reason why you're reading these words, right? It could be that you've already found your work from home business opportunity and now it's time for you to take action and turn that opportunity into a legitimate and profitable business. Are you feeling a little bit frustrated though? Perhaps your desire for success is not the issue but rather knowing what to do in order to achieve success in your home business is the problem.
The first step in experiencing or manifesting anything in our lives is to be clear on what it is we really want. - the word really is important here as you may or may not have yet discovered. But, how do you get clear? And how do you get to know what you really want? Begin by clearing the ...
How do you care for yourself under stress? I'm sure you've heard people say "stress is a killer" and I believe stress can manifest itself in emotional and physical ways that can lead to depression, anxiety and even death if gone untreated. If you are under stress over a long period of time and start to see physical ...

Why is that we all have to do everything the same? Why is it that we all have to be alike and why is it that if we don’t do what others do and if we don’t behave like the rest of the world we are seen as being weird, strange and so on… I love when I meet with people that are not afraid to be themselves, people who are not afraid to show the world who they really are, people who are not afraid to show their real identity, their beliefs and their strong and unique personality. You know what I have noticed, and this could be best seen on Halloween.
Have you ever felt that there is a deep hole inside you? One you cannot fill. I think all of us do to some extent. It feels like sometime, when we were very, very young, something or some things happened that pulled the natural love out of us and left a endless hole, because Love is infinite. With the love 'out' of us, we are left with trying to get love from other people in order to fill that hole, working to earn love, get approval, constantly vigilant about what was working and what's not, and constantly expecting rejection and more pain.
Hi there everyone!! I love Obama and he is very much needed to give people of the world hope. Hope is the first, crucial step this world needs before it can embrace change. The reason most people in the world can't cause change is because they do not acknowledge that hope is required first.
Hey there everyone!! Does asking really work? Is it "that" simple? What gets us to ask in the first place? We ask because we have a desire, and we believe that our desire may get fulfilled upon our asking. What stops us from asking? We don't ask because we don't think our request will be answered, leaving our desire unfulfilled. It makes sense. Why would we want to invest in something (making a request) that we don't believe in (getting an affirmative response)? The fundamental reason we hesitate to ask for something is because we think we won't get what we want.
Imagine singing in front of an arena full of adoring, screaming fans, and feeling the high that comes from being center stage. If you are an adult, whether you realize it or not, you have created an invisible bubble around yourself called the comfort zone. We all do. Your comfort zone includes all your activities and preferences, the lifestyle you have created for yourself. It is also linked to your self-concept, what you believe are your strengths and weaknesses, your talents and lacks, your abilities and limitations.nnWe are all creatures of habit, and we all love order and stability in our lives.
Brainstorming by yourself is one thing. Brainstorming with a group of people has its own challenges. I personally love facilitating brainstorming sessions. It's like orchestrating a chaotic storm of ideas. The excitement and the energy generated during a great brainstorming session are almost addictive. If your experience in having a group brainstorming session doesn't seem to match my experience, then perhaps you should examine whether or not you're actually running an effective brainstorming session.
Hi there everyone!! What is Personal Development? There are so many words that we, or other marketers may use to describe what we think personal development is. For example, we may have heard of self-help, self-improvement, or peak-performance. We may have seen the concept targeted to a specific market, such as "professional" development. Or, if we're on the cutting-edge, we may have heard of the new trillion dollar "wellness industry." Ultimately, personal development is about improving ourselves in any possible way, in any possible aspect of our lives.
Do you know why we use any sort of currency today (money, credit, barter, I mean any form of currency)? We have to? Why? To eat, and get the things we need for life. We use currency to keep track of all of that exchange. But, why? Why do we need to keep track of all of that exchange? Some might say, the world works that way. And because, some people would take advantage, they would be gluttonous and just vacation all the time, or they would be lazy, and wouldn't contribute.
Have you ever had one of those days when things seem to go wrong instead of right? Perhaps a conversation you wanted to have doesn’t go the way you intended, or an event gets rained out or doesn’t happen the way you expected, or you are stuck in traffic and you’re going to be late, or the dinner party you organized doesn’t work out the way you thought, or things didn’t go well with your boss, partner, friend or family member, or your trip was postponed, etc. A lot of things can seem to go wrong in life and it’s up to you to make them right.
One thing I realized about affirmations is how important the way you state them is. For instance, I used to state one of my affirmations with the words "I am rich." That's great, because I knew that somewhere I was rich, and that all I had to do was find the way to manifest this already existing wealth. The catch was, at that period of my life when I said "I am rich" and then looked around me, not only did I not believe that, but I was also saying that "I am rich, and my life as it was currently represented being rich!" Incredible!
Ho’oponopono is a Huna process that brings balance or harmony to your life. It is a beautiful process of clearing and forgiving the memories and energies you hold within you to create well-being in your inner and outer worlds. Huna is a very ancient system of knowledge that dates back thousands of years to some of the earliest teachings on Earth. For years it remained a secret, and as such the teachings have been kept very pure. Today, Huna teachings are available for everyone’s benefit, one of the most beneficial being the teachings of Ho’oponopono.
There really aren’t right or wrong decisions. There is the choice you make, what transpires when you make it, and what you do from there. When you make a decision and it doesn’t turn out the way you had hoped, it doesn’t mean it was the "wrong" one, or if you would have chosen differently, it would be the "right" one. Either way, you made your decision, and now it is offering you possibilities and opportunities to learn something new about yourself, another person, or the situation you are in.
I remembered a story that my teacher told me when I was in high school about a student that had exams and he was going to church to ask God to help him pass them all. He did little or no study at all but he was praying. He had faith. He really believed that he will pass the exams without him reading any of the book that needed to be read, without him studying anything. And of course he failed. He was so upset and mad. He could not understand how could God do this to him. His God let him down. What kind of God is this?
These seven steps might help you in your quest to keep your brain working at optimum. 1. Engage in a Regular Exercise Regimen. Do simple exercises like a simple walk or jog. It may not be as intense as a full-blown work-out. You just have to keep your body physically fit and active. Simple work-outs may trigger the release of neurochemicals known as endorphins. These chemicals are responsible for making us feel happy and by feeling happier, a more positive effect on the brain can be observed. 2. Supplement your Diet.r
Hey there everyone!! Finding and receiving mentorship has transformed my life in ways some find remarkable. At age thirteen, I was the first person in the Toronto Board of Education to participate in Co-Operative Education (working in the job market). There I met Peter who would become my first mentor. My job was to do computer programming; however, I found great fascination in learning about business. Peter was the owner of a relatively small company and noticed my broadening interests. He took me under his wing, explaining some of the ins and outs of daily business.
I love Wayne Dyer, I love his wisdom and I simply can't describe in words what I feel every time I listen to this wonderful man or when I read his books. He is one of the most amazing people on this planet from my point of view and I just can't get enough of what he has to share with us all. What I want to share with you today is a short story about a tribe in South Africa called the Babemba. What does this have to do with dr. Wayne Dyer?
Hi there everyone!! September 11, 2001 was a historic day for all of us. As the anniversary of that date approaches, we can’t help but sadly recall the events, the tragedy and the great human toll that was extracted. However, this is also a good time to reflect on the eloquent response of President George W. Bush and the positive message that he imparted. In his speech to Congress, the American People and global citizens, he said: “We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage.
n n Spiritual Transformation and Transpersonal Psychology nTranspersonal psychology is a school of psychology that studies the transpersonal, the transcendent or spiritual aspects of the human experience. The Journal of Transpersonal Psychology describes transpersonal psychology as "the study of humanity’s highest potential, and with the recognition, understanding, and realization of unitive, spiritual, and transcendent states of consciousness" (Lajoie and Shapiro, 1992
Your subconscious contains all of your memories, emotions, beliefs, programs, habits, preferences and drives. It controls all functions of your body, heals and balances you when you’re sleeping. It is the gateway to your other dimensions of your being: your spiritual energy, past lives, akashic record, parallel lives, your mythic reality, symbolic reality, transpersonal reality. Your subconscious is really running the show. Or is it? Your subconscious mind has all this power, but takes its orders from your conscious mind.
I know a lot of people that are always preoccupied with what those around them are doing and what those around them are saying and because of this they can’t seem to get ahead with their lives. They get so stressed about everything that happens around them, about those situations and people that have nothing to do with them, those situations and behaviors that don’t even affect them. Why in the world would you care what others are doing with their lives, why in the world would you stress about their actions and behaviors?
Teachers and others in the caring professions have to walk a fine line to build and maintain their resilience if they want to prevent burn out. In the education world, a popular figure subscribed to teacher burnout is one out of two teachers leave the profession within the first five years of their career. We're not sure how many leave after the firt five years, but rest assured, some do. The odds are good if you are a teacher, you will encounter or experience burnout in your career.
Dear Savvy Web Surfer, Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get tons of free stuff, while others don't? When was the last time you got frustrated because you paid for something that one of your friends got for FREE (or significantly cheaper)? Whether you are a teenager, student, employee, business owner, single parent, or retired investor, we all love the instant gratification we get when something is given to us free of charge.
I've had an unusual number of people I'm acquainted with die recently. Three were men in their fifties, one was a ten year old girl, and one was a woman in her eighties. And then this week Dr. Oz did an Oprah show 'on death', except it really was about living - one woman had lived with stage 4 - ...
"'Once Upon a Time’ you were born into a kingdom that badly needed your female leadership, your vision, courage and honesty. But the Evil Queen Witch, feeling threatened by your radiance, placed a curse on you. Since then, you’ve been drowning your voice and your personal truth." This story could be about Snow White, but it may as well be about many women in our modern age. Find out if "Once Upon a Time" is casting a spell in your life right now and discover which fairy tale character you are.
Hey there everyone!! Why is it that we write? To record. We write to capture moments. Moments of ideas, of inspiration, of opinions, or of abstract thought. These recorded moments become part of our history. They can be popularized and find themselves in libraries of the future. Or they can be personal diaries that get discovered by archeologists who now have a new found artifact of history. In every moment there is so much communication that it could take many moments to analyze one particular moment.

TODAY'S WORLD Have you noticed that there is more unrest and dissatisfaction among your friends and colleagues? Have you noticed that many corporations and businesses have less interest in ethics and more interest in satisfying individual personal needs without much attention to consequences? Have you noticed that people feel more unhappy more of the time? Like many people around age 55, over the past number of decades, I have seen major changes in how people process the worl
As within, so without. The way you think about yourself is the way the world thinks about you. If you value yourself, the world values you. If you don’t value you yourself, you might find that money does not flow to you. If you ignore your needs, you may find people not paying attention to you, not giving you the credit you deserve. If you’re not sure how you feel about yourself, then people will reflect that back to you, having mixed feelings as well. Have you ever taken the time to notice this? It is amazing. And when you finally realize what’s going on, you take your power back.
Hi there everyone!! Goals should be written down and have the following SMART attributes: Specific. We need to have hard numbers on our goals. However, this is not to be confused with being “precise.” It’s OK to have ranges of numbers. In fact, it’s better for the subconscious mind if we have a “minimum,” “target,” and “outrageous” goal set. That way, we have both the advantage of setting a high goal that we would love, and still be excited if we only achieve our “minimum.” Measurable. This is so we will know whether our goals are being achieved or not.
In the past, healing has been viewed from the Newtonian view of the universe. This is the mechanistic thinking that the body is like a machine. Take a pill, cut something out, or fix a certain part of the body. Healing and psychology are beginning to catch up with quantum physics and the unified field. This is the thinking that we are the sum total of everything in and around us, including our environment. As children we reference our parents and our environment to learn how to navigate in the world.
n If I were to ask you what it means to live successfully, what would your answer be? Success means different things to different people, but in general, most people would agree that to be physically healthy, have healthy relationships, and have enough money to live comfortably and not worry ...
Many years ago, as my personal-growth journey was expanding, I strived to find the fundamental principals of success that would be consistent to the entire personal development industry. I was happy to find some of these principals, yet I was shocked as I noticed that one principal would contradict another! What was going on? "There's no ultimate truth," I thought, "just everyone's personal version of it." Have you noticed contradictions from one book to the next, from one speaker to the next, or from one seminar to the next? How do we account for these inconsistencies?
AUM. You've heard it, chanted it or meditated to it. Yet, do you know what the sound really means? The oldest known spiritual text, the Upanishads from ancient India, says that AUM is the sound of God. That's a pretty bold statement, isn't it? The ancient text goes on to explain that it also represents the three types of consciousness that we experience each day: waking, dreaming and dreamless sleep. These states correlate with the birth, life and death cycle as well as our body, emotions and soul.
Hi there everyone!! On page 96 of “A Dictionary of Distinctions,” I ask “They say a picture is worth a thousand words. If so, how much is a five-minute dream worth?” Let’s really figure it out right now. Those in the video or electronic media industry will tell you that standard quality videos (most television sets) have approximately 30 frames per second. That means, to make a movie look like a “movie,” there are actually 30 pictures that are displayed consecutively in one second.
A common theme among my clients is the fear of failure. They are so afraid of failing that they are unwilling to press the "go" button to get their lives started. Ironically the fear of failure usually leads to more failure. The fear of failure can lead to procrastination, perfection paralysis, indecision, and even depression. One thing the fear of failure will never lead to is success.
In relaxation, your brain waves first move to the alpha level, just a peaceful relaxation, the kind you get daydreaming, in a hot bath at the end of the day, enjoying a favorite hobby, listening to peaceful music, meditating. Over 3000 studies have been done proving the benefits of deep relaxation on our health and well-being. But do you know it also affects your spirituality?
Hi there everyone!! Once upon a time, before there was any money, individuals in small communities would exchange products and services with each other. To have a standard unit of measurement that was generally accepted by all, things like shells, cocoa beans, feathers, or even pretty stones were used to denote value. Gold and silver, being soft, attractive, and easy to work with, soon were adopted by many cultures as a new standard.
Life purpose is very important to me. I'm sure it's very important to you too. It’s only natural to wonder about whether you are on purpose or, if you are on the right path. In working with my own life purpose, I've noticed some guidance that comes through repeatedly. I'm going to share these ...
There are two types of affirmations. Each type has two parts that make up the whole of it. Without acting upon this truth, our affirmation work becomes something other than effective. Let's look at this. Affirmations are effective when they are repeated. Customarily, that repeating would look like us, finding a favorite affirmation, such as "My life now flows with money" and then repeating these words over and over, with the intention that more money manifests for us. Affirmations are associated with courses, classes, and conferences.
We all have them. Emotional wounding from our childhood. An event, a person, something happened to create a cluster of pain and beliefs surrounding that pain. Years can go by, and as long as that wound is still festering, all it takes is a word, or a certain look on someone's face to trigger it. Then suddenly you are embroiled in a cloud of turbulence, lashing out at the poor person or thing that set you off, telling yourself a story of pain. A story that seems so true, that controls you so much, that eats away at your happiness.
By nature, human beings are impatient. We want good things to show up in our lives and we want them to show up now. Let's face it, we live in a microwave society – we don't want to wait around for anything. When it takes longer than expected for goodness to materialize, frustration sets in. For example, if you’ve ever placed second in a contest, are you the type of person to throw in the towel and not try again? Or, would you be proud of a respectable showing and use the experience to push for better results the next time?
Tom Wright In a conversation with a woman the other day, she told me that she was "authentic" when in my opinion, she was anything but. Oh, oh! What mirror was I looking into! Wow! Was that an eye opener. The third eye, for certain. That's when I realized that people (and yes, I am a 'people') often hide behind the term "authenticity" and even more importantly, I realized that horrors of horrors, that I was doing that myself!
Many interpersonal conflicts and anger arise when you feel that your rights have been violated. One solution we use is to be passive, but then, you’re not only mad at the person who violated your rights, but angry at yourself for not standing up for yourself. The solution is to be assertive and learn to honestly and effectively communicate your feelings and needs to other people.
Breaking up IS hard to do. Sometimes, after all the decisions are made, the moves taken care of and the lifestyles adjusted, it's still hard to let go of focusing on your 'ex'. Thoughts and feelings can still dominate you despite your best intentions to move on. So, how to do really get over someone and get on with your life?
Have you ever had the desire to speed read? Just imagine how helpful it would be in your daily life to at least double your reading speed. Especially today in the information age, learning how to increase your reading speed would be such a helpful tool for so many of us. It boggles the mind to think about all of the reading material we can bring into our lives today with a simple mouse click. The amount of available reading material we now have at our disposal is on a perpetual upward climb while is seems the time we have available for reading is on a constant decline.
We often remember the people who symbolize a movement, but forget all the people who came beforehand to create that movement. We remember the dates, but forget all the events that lead up to that moment to make that moment possible. These historical figures weren’t just in the right place at the right time. Their internal beliefs and their outward actions were aligned in such a way that when the right time and right place came along they had the courage to step into their moment in history.
I come from a family that believes that if you can’t find a hammer, use a rock. If you can’t find a rock, use your shoe. Because my parents grew up poor, they believe in the idea of making do with what you have instead of complaining about what you don’t have. My entire family lives by this mantra. In my mom’s case, it’s if you can’t find filet mignon, use hot dogs and Spam.
I'm not sure whether I heard this or read it ~ where or when. All I know is these words keep popping into my head. And whenever they do, they empower me to take action... which is exactly what I need to do when I hear them. Sometimes I get stuck. No matter how much I know about personal and ...
I was at the gym the other day, and I happened to step on a treadmill where the electronic display was broken. See that the gym was so full, I was glad to have a treadmill at all, and I just started jogging. I had no idea exactly how fast I was going, what my heart rate was, what incline I was at, or how many calories I was burning. The only thing I knew was how long I was jogging based on the clock in the gym. I just kept adjusting the speed until it felt about right. I would slow down when it get too difficult, and speed it up when it got too easy. I was making adjustments constantly.
Hi Each and Every One of You!! This is why I’m a visionary. Being a computer hacker at age thirteen, I resonated with this community’s manifesto which articulated my own consciousness concisely as follows: “We explore... and you call us criminals. We seek after knowledge... and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias... and you call us criminals.
"American Idol" (FOX) isn't just a singing contest. It's basically a televised audition process to produce the next pop music star. Year after year, teens and adults audition for the show hoping to make it onto the show, and eventually win the show. Having watched every season, I've developed my own list the 12 habits, skills, qualities and traits that the winners of "American Idol" have exhibited in the past seasons. I call it my "American Idol" Survival Guide.
I have great respect for the Tarot and its meaning in my life as an expression of awakened consciousness. In a holographic universe, where I know that I am an unique articulation of the whole - particle and wave at one and the same time - revering my own potential - the Tarot is a reminder for the genius of whom I AM to become the more that I can become. All meaning is context dependent. That is a given.
For people who struggle with time management, clutter reduction is often the first step to having more time in your life. When you simplify your environment and organize your life, it makes tasks go more smoothly, and helps you make the most of your limited time. For me a lack of clutter is like a breath of fresh air. It helps me THINK more clearly. I'm not distracted by "stuff" cluttering up my desk, the floor or my life. It frees up my creative energy, allowing me to approach tasks more directly and move through them more efficiently.
Hi Everyone!! In a previous newsletter, some of you wrote back requesting clarification on how all of us can be "100% responsible for our lives" when there are certain obvious things which we cannot control, such as sexual abuse or a physical disability. First, let's distinguish responsibility from fault or blame. When I was sexually abused by one of my babysitters, I felt terribly violated. As I became conscious of what happened, I started asking many questions like "Why did this happen to me?" Asking that question lead me to find fault all around me.
If you've been plagued by a problem in your life, especially if you've had that problem for a long time, you might assume that you'd be eager to get rid of it. You would think so, but actually, when you get right down to it, the contrary is often more true. People get used to having their problem, even though it is uncomfortable and they’d like to get rid of it. You see, they may KNOW how to be depressed, or poor, or sick. Feeling those feelings, although uncomfortable, are familiar. Contemplating something else is a bit scary.
Who is Jeff Foxworthy? He’s host of the show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” He gained his original popularity as a comic with his signature one liners which began with the statement, “you know you’re a redneck when...” I hope he won’t mind if I borrow his joke idea for this article.
Artists seem to avoid entrepreneurship like it is the plague. Many artists think making art for money is "selling out," or that money will somehow pollute their artistic integrity, or that great artists have to suffer in poverty in order to produce great works of art. Where did the "starving artist" meme get started? How did this "starving artist" meme develop such a cult following? The "starving artist" meme is actually an excuse. It's an excuse to fail. It's an excuse for laziness. It's an excuse for mediocre work. In some cases, it's an excuse for drug abuse, and alcoholism.
“Enlarge the opportunity and the person will expand to fill it.” Eli Ginzberg, 1911-2002, an economist who taught at Columbia University for more than six decades, advised eight American presidents and led pioneering research efforts in employment and health care. Recently, I attended a program at the University of Michigan Ross School of business, called: “Using Positive Psychology in Trying Times.” As many of you know, I have long been interested in, studied and integrate
As I am going through a lot of change currently in my own life now, as is the world over all I think this quote sums up for me how to we might all best approach change. Itâs often so comfortable to stay where we are as its familiar, secure and easy. However, as with many things in life we might try to stay where we are but life has a funny way of forcing us to make changes. This can be demonstrated by the current recession. A lot of people have been let go from their jobs,
Hey there everyone!! I’ve always had a fascination with numbers. When my massage therapist asked me to pick a number from 1 to 10 to indicate how much pressure I was feeling, I exclaimed “pi”. She said “what?” and I replied, “I can’t get any more precise than 3.14159265359...”
Your success is all about you having the right mindset. Before you can get to work on developing the right mindset, though, you have to understand what it is. Only when you clearly understand it can you become fully aware of your own. Think of your mindset as your philosophy of life. It drives every single thing that you do in your life and in your business.
"The Universal Mind is static or potential energy; it simply is; it can manifest only through the individual, and the individual can manifest only through the Universal. They are one." Charles F. Haanel
It has been well over two years that our economy has taken a deep plunge for the worst, and though various reports are making claims that we're recovering slowly, the fact remains that most people are still struggling to survive. With gasoline, food, education, and housing prices constantly on the high, the average Americans can barely make ends meet. Therefore, taking a nice well-deserved vacation to a beautiful and exotic destination with their loved ones is definitely out of range and out of question.
Part of the romanticism of entrepreneurship is the thought that entrepreneurs are creative, innovative, go-getters, risk takers, driven. All of that implies a high self-esteem and determination. In reality, having a clear understanding of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship allows managers of institutions and corporations, as well as individual, manage each area differently to get the best results.

What is intimacy? I think it's a special feeling of closeness where we can be ourselves with each other. When we can be completely free to say whatever we want -- no matter how personal or sensitive -- then there is intimacy. What is chemistry? I think chemistry occurs when people feel a certain cosmic, spiritual, soulful, or sexual synchronicity. This is when we feel we understand someone; we can relate to them without them having to explain themselves.
How often have you heard someone say “Why doesn’t my life work?” Or “Nothing Ever goes right for me.” Or thought to yourself: “What’s wrong with my life?” It’s so easy to think that you are a victim of diabolical forces that have conspired to hand you a fistful of misery. But Quantum Physics is ...
So how do you eliminate emotional toxins? I really believe that if you are sharing your pain with somebody else, somebody you care about, somebody you trust, you are cutting the pain in half every time you do so. “Pain is life- the sharper, the more evidence of life.”Charles Lambr
What are your excuses for not doing something about your life? When you start learning anything, the line of least resistance has the tendency to win. Don't fall into the trap! Set your goals. Choose a course of action. Hire a coach, hypnotherapist, or other professional to assist you as you begin to navigate your way to the life you really want. And then, stick to it. As the old saying goes, “inch by inch, it’s a cinch.”
Our days can be busy. In fact too busy sometimes with appointments, house and/or office work, to-do lists, schedules, meetings, racing from one place to another, grocery shopping, errands, planning, etc. If you have children, that can add a whole other dimension to busyness just on it's own! Whew... I don't know about you, but I become tired just reading the list of ways our lives can become one gigantic timetable of events and things to do. Then there are days with the extra challenges, as if you didn't have enough already.
I find it fascinating to listen when people are really talking about something about which they feel passionately. Their voice becomes stronger. They speak more rapidly. Sometimes they speak louder. Their voice quality changes in a way that moves the words they are saying from their mouth, into their throat, and then to their chest. My impression is always that the words are now coming from their heart. The transformation is pretty remarkable. Ordinary conversations turn into passionate speeches. The difference is that their passion has been ignited.
Who would have thought that a little four letter word could contain such magnitude and have an impact on people in ways you never knew were possible. This word is empowering, inspiring, moving, heart warming, humbling, kind, gentle, spoken or unspoken. The word I'm referring to is LOVE. It is one of the greatest gifts received and given. L - Let me be an expression and leave an impression of love wherever I go. O- Open my inner eyes and ears to truly hear and see how I can care for myself and others today.

More and more lately I hear people talking about being "authentic." I'm not sure if it has become a buzz word, or if people are really craving honesty and the kind of connection that can come when two people are authentic with each other. I suspect that many people have become aware of the roles they play, the masks they wear. They worry that if they were really themselves, friends or coworkers wouldn't approve of them. They pretend to be some way that they think will be acceptable.
3 Steps To Dissolving The Mask of Anger Anger is an emotion that causes us to lose our center and feel out of place. It is a reaction to a situation or experience that can lead us to spin; meaning, incessant thoughts of a drama that we are resisting. Anger is resistance and it has a tendency to take away our presence and our point of center becomes harder to hold. Anger, like all negative emotions, is rooted in fear at its core.
Exam Fears & Parental Pressure Drives Students to Drink – Discover simple ways to banish exam stress According to an article in The Metro this week, exam stress and parental pressure are driving many school children to alcohol and self-harming.
If you want to improve your relationships, if you want to build happier and longer lasting social connections, you have to learn how to better communicate. If let’s say for example you are in a relationship and your partner acts in ways that you no longer can accept, ways that are hurting your feelings, you have to know how to responds to his actions, his behaviors and words. You have to learn to stop reacting and start responding. Always talk about the behavior and not the person.
Procrastination is one of the most prevalent forms of self sabotage, and it can be devastating to your relationships, your career and your peace of mind. Procrastination is the habit of putting tasks off to a later time. It isn't just rescheduling tasks; it is a pattern of behavior that has at its heart the desire to avoid something. Usually people procrastinate about tasks that are unpleasant to them, or on tasks that require a lot of time. The reasons people procrastinate are varied and usually unconscious. They may not make logical sense.
How would you like to find out how your brain is wired so you can change it to suit you and help you accomplish your goals? That’s what submodalities can do for you. They are an amazing and powerful part of how you organize your experience of life. We don’t often notice it, but when we think about something we all have a special way of organizing the thoughts into images (visual), sounds (auditory) and sensations (kinesthetic). Let me show you what I mean and how you can use this to help yourself in many, many ways. It takes a little bit of work, but it’s really worth it.
By Frosty Wooldridge Do you like your work? Do you get a kick out of reaching the “office” daily as a park ranger, chef, teacher, truck driver, fireman, manager, waitress or hairdresser? Note this fact: what you do daily in your life affects your mind, body and spirit. If you love your work, you thrive. If you tolerate your work, you stagger through your day watching the clock. If you dislike your work, you ingest headache remedies. If you earn low wages, you limit your opt
One of the biggest challenges people face today is they feel life is just passing them by. Guess what? It is, unless you are willing to invite life in and try something new. Each day offers us something different if we are willing to see, touch, taste, smell and hear all that life is offering us. If you go to a buffet to eat, do you choose things you’ve never tried before? Or, do you take the same things as always? When you purchase clothes, do you try new colours? Or, do you stick with the same ones? How about your routines at home and work?
Have you ever wanted something really badly but you just couldn’t seem to get it, no matter how hard you tried? Well there is something you can do to help bring what you want into your life. Let go. Sounds like the complete opposite of what you are trying to achieve/attain, doesn’t it? As self-improvement aficionados, we are repeatedly hammered over the head with ideas that the law of attraction and positive thinking are the be-all, end-all ways to attaining success. These
What makes you, you? Think about that for a moment... There's probably a bunch of characteristics that come to your mind. Sometimes, the most basic of traits we overlook. For example, did you think about your gender, your ethnicity, or your age? We tend not to describe ourselves with these attributes because we don't want other people to judge our character or our personality based on these attributes. And, these are attributes that we may not have any control over -- we cannot change them, so we overlook them. One of my core traits is being an albino.
Did you know that your skull holds three brains, each built on top of the other serving different purposes and functions? The ancient reptilian brain, which is about 500 million years old, is the oldest and smallest part of the evolving human brain. This brain center is conce ed with the fundamental processes of keeping the body alive, needs of survival and safety, fight, flight or freeze.
One day at my parents’ laundry mat/dry cleaners, my father saw a homeless man rummaging through our garbage dumpster looking for aluminum cans and glass bottles. For some inexplicable reason, my father asked the man to come into the dry cleaners, and to pick out some clothes from a box filled with dry cleaned clothes that customers never picked up. The clothes fit the homeless man awkwardly, but he seemed okay with them. Then my father gave the man a broom and a dustpan, and headed out into the parking lot. Within a few hours, the homeless man had cleaned up our parking lot.
The older I get, the more I am struck by how life surprises us. So often, we'll be going along, living life, when something comes along that was totally unexpected. And everything changes. Sometimes the surprises are fun and exciting–like a job offer when you aren't looking for a new job. ...

Here are two powerful, yet fun exercises developed here at EduTheta. They are particularly useful for transforming your energy around money, particularly feelings of 'not enough'. First exercise 1. Get yourself some 'fake' money notebooks that come in $20, $50 and $100 denominations. 2. Tear out however many you need to until you feel you have enough money. 3. Put this amount into your purse or wallet, separate to your real money of course.r

How do you deal with those negative people that keep showing up in your life? You know how I always say that nothing in this world happens by accident and how everything and everybody is here to teach us all a lesson. Well, apparently I don’t always walk the talk. I have to confess to you that I have times when I feel like I can’t take it anymore. There are people who know exactly what buttons to push, how to push them and when to push them. I am not perfect. When it happens it’s like I can’t think clear anymore and I forget everything I stand for, everything I believe in.
One year, I decided to try food photography. I loved food, I loved local restaurants, and I loved photography. It seemed like a perfect fit for me. One problem... two actually. The first was that I had no experience in product photography; my style was more akin to photojou alism, which is stylistically different than product photography. The second problem was that I had absolutely no culinary background. Being who I am, I didn't let any of that hold me back.

I once had a client, Zach, who wanted to start some kind of online auction business. He would describe to me in detail how the auction software worked, and the different kinds of products that would be auctioned off, but he could never articulate how his auction site would be any different from eBay. All he told me was what he wouldn't be selling, like junk, clothes, computer parts, etc. He just kept talking about baseball cards and comic books. So we sat down and tried out my 7 Step Perfect Pitch Program. The program takes less than an hour.
When we were young, very young, we made decisions about ourselves and the world we live in that have lasted throughout our lives. These decisions, or agreements about life, were made before we had a rational mind or the perspective and experience of an adult. Most of our beliefs about the world were in place before the age of five. We were only conce ed with our security and being loved. And when these needs weren't met, or worse when they were violated by abuse, we came to very fearful and limiting conclusions.
One of the biggest struggles all of us have in our modern world has to do with how to manage time. Most of us are so busy, and bombarded with demands on our time. We are overstimulated by choice, and even inventions designed to make us more effective and efficient often become time-stealers. (Think about computers and email, for instance). We struggle to be more productive to no avail. We struggle to find more time, all the while feeling that we have less and less of this precious resource.
I have a true story I want to share with you. I love travelling and was planning a road trip to Arizona with my boyfriend who had just moved from Australia to be with me in Canada. He had never been to the United States and was anticipating the adventure. I had been to Arizona a few years back with a girlfriend and had fallen in love with the beauty of the desert.
Sometimes the simplest techniques are the most powerful and most profound. This is certainly true of the technique of blessing. It invokes the positive power of the Universe to heal, harmonize, and increase. This is a Huna technique called Pomaika’i that can you can use for health, prosperity, happiness and success. Though simple, it has the power to totally change your life. Blessing is simply giving positive recognition to something or someone. You can do this through:
In this lesso I would like to explore the following questions. What is fear? What are our biggest Fears? and what fears should we look to overcome first? And Finally, I will present you with a session on overcoming your fears in a way that will probably be different than what you may expect. OK,lets talk about the F word. The Primal fear is the fear of death and probably more so is the fear of dying forever, if you know what I mean. This is the deepest hardwired fear within every human being on the planet.
In order to succeed in a private practice today, it's not enough to simply be competent or even great at what you do. You have to have a Unique Selling Proposition (USP) - a specialized technique, customized business model or other unique offering that not only attracts customers to your practice, but keeps them coming back for more and wows them so completely that they enthusiastically to refer you to their friends and family.
When you look into your future, what do you see? Do you have a clear vision of where your life is heading? If you know where it is you wish to go, odds are you will get there. However, if you have no idea of where it is you're going, it is certain that you will get there. The great personal trainer Zig Ziglar put it this way: Zig said that he can take the most accurate archery expert in the world and inside of just a few minutes, he'd have anybody shooting arrows with much greater accuracy than the archer.
You know what? Every time somebody would do something to hurt me in the past, I would dwell upon it for hours, days, weeks and even months. I would think about that specific situation, about that person and I would imagine all kind of scenarios and in those scenarios I would change that which just happened or I would look for ways to make that person pay for everything. I would poison my mind with all kind of horrible thoughts that would only make me feel more miserable. Yes, I know it’s pretty sick but unfortunately we do this to ourselves.
A family may include parent(s), sibling(s), partner, children, aunt(s), uncle(s), cousin(s), grandparent(s), grandchildren, step-parent, step brother(s) and sister(s), foster and adoptive families, and in-laws, to name a few. Whew, that's a lot of people to get along with! Whether you have a large family or small one, there always seems to be that one person, and in some cases more than one, who can set you off one way or another. Things were fairly good until they called, or you saw them, or were talking about them. Then you found yourself all riled.
Does learning how to speed read really have to be a painful process? There's got to be a better way to increase your reading speed rather than buying expensive speed reading courses and spending endless hours studying and practicing speed reading techniques. Well, you can now double your reading speed instantly and it won't cost you one thin dime. I realize this statement may sound like a bunch of hype but I can assure you that in just a few minutes you'll see how easy it is to improve your reading speed for good in less than 60 seconds.
Hi there everyone!! What would it be like to live in global peace? I think it would encompass having complete trust in everyone else. That would cause us to all be working as one global entity. If that were the case, what would it mean for the world? It would mean countries and organizations working together, without selfish or ulterior motives, but with the desire to better the world. If that were the case, what would it mean for our daily lives? We would be living more freely and experiencing a deeper harmony within and amongst our communities. And here’s the good news.
Hi there... I know what it's like... I had times when I wasn't happy doing anything that I did. I did some great things, but I was never happy. All I knew is that I wanted to feel better, and whatever I did to try and feel better, didn't work. I felt horrible. Even though others thought I looked good, I felt horrible. I wanted to cry. I cried often. I cried so much that I couldn't cry anymore. I yelled out loud wanting to cry, and I couldn't even cry. And that made me feel even worse. I know what it's like...
“To be average scares the hell out of me.” I saw this quote a few days ago in a book I was reading and I was pretty touched by it. I can personally tell you that I have moments when I am scared of being only an average person with a mediocre life, doing nothing spectacular here on earth. I know now that this will never happen but there are those few moments when your mind goes to places that you thought are long gone.
It's time now for a review of the network marketing industry. There has been a lot of talk lately about network marketing so let's shed some light on the topic. Millions of people these days are starting a home based business in response to a still tight job market.
One of my favorite movies is “Groundhog Day” (dir. Harold Ramos). It stars Bill Murray as the weatherman who keeps waking up to the same Groundhog Day over, and over, and over again. The movie has special meaning to me because, to me, the movie is about what I refer to as “everyday reinca ation.” Don’t worry, I won’t go too Buddhist on you. And, by the way… SPOILER ALERT!
I frequently work with people who want greater meaning in their lives. They want their lives to count. Sometimes they are bored; sometimes they feel trapped by their everyday life; sometimes they just want to find greater happiness or meaning. This has lead me to think about the importance of connecting with your passion, and taking advantage of opportunities that will help you live fully.
How committed are you to your own success? Ask that question of a hundred different people and I'm sure each one of them will tell you they're completely committed to living a successful, more fulfilled life. I mean, after all, who doesn't want more out of life, right? So where's the disconnect? If most everyone wants more out of life, why do so few actually get it? The answer lies in one's ability to handle adversity. How to succeed in life is lost on those who are incapable of handling life's challenges. Too many people are willing to cut and run once the going gets difficult.
When asked the question “What type of music do you like?”, many people respond “All kinds” because it often depends on mood. Happy moods can call for celebration music, love songs and prayer. On the other hand, dark moods often reject messages of peace, love and justice, recoiling in fear and separation. Places of worship, education, employment and association commission custom-designed songs that reflect values, beliefs and calls for action, specific to the group.
"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" Remember that old saying that we used as kids to try to cope with name-calling? It probably wasn't very successful then, and in fact, just isn't true. We now know that words can hurt. We always knew that words could hurt our feelings, but it turns out that words can have a profound effect on our bodies as well. Every cell in our body is eavesdropping on everything we say and everything that is said to us. Studies by Dr.
Whether you meditate or just want to still your mind from its incessant chatter, I have a profound message to share with you. “Thirty sacred seconds” is all that it takes to allow your conscious mind to dis-identify with your thoughts and connect you with your divine mind. Each time you do this, you are strengthening the pathway into a Presence that radiates unity and harmony. Inner peace is within your reach when you practice mindfulness. (The conscious mind functions in a world of polarity and judgment; the spiritual mind functions in the realm of love, peace and oneness.)
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.”–1 Corinthians 13:4-7
If you ever wanted to get into the food business, I think it’s important to check your knowledge of food history first: * Who invented the crop rotation method for farming? * Who invented of soy-based paints? * Who owns the patent on peanut butter? If you answered George Washington Carver to all three… you’re wrong. Although Carver did developed the crop rotation method, invented soy-based paints, and did discover hundreds of uses for peanuts, including peanut butter, he actually never patented peanut butter.
You wake up; it’s a new dawn, a new day, and yet somehow it doesn’t feel much different than the day before. It’s like today has yesterday written all over it. Not only is it the same routine as the day before with perhaps a few variances here and there, but the feelings of yesterday may have also carried forward into this pristine day. It’s tough sometimes not to get caught up in mindsets of “woe is me”, or worrying, or feeling stressed, or stuck in the mundaneness or busyness of the prior day(s) and transfer those feelings into the next.
If you’ve suffered from low self-esteem like I have for most of your life, loving yourself doesn’t come easy. But, it’s the most important thing you can do in life. The way I think of it now is that the Love you have within you is Divinity and it’s how that Divinity in you connects with the Divinity in everyone and everything else. Nurturing the love in yourself increases your experience of love in the world.
Although I know how to change the own oil in my car, cook my own meals, and process my own photographs, I’d rather have someone else do it. That’s right, I’m a lazy idiot. The businesses that provide these services are making money off of me, but I’m also gaining valuable time by delegating these tasks to them. In the end, all businesses – whether it is a restaurant, a dry cleaner, or a jewelry maker – profit from the laziness and ignorance of others. We all have a little bit of a lazy idiot in us, and it’s okay that we are all lazy idiots.
Having a strong sense of self-accountability is the cornerstone of success and productivity. Self-accountability simply means you are holding yourself responsible for your successes and failures. Most of us feel a sense of accountability towards our managers, co-workers, clients, customers, friends, family, and even society in general. If you are a solopreneur, it is far more difficult to hold yourself accountable.
Do you know what really motivates you? Most people have trouble answering this. This is probably because the answer is rooted in deeply-held conce s, fears and conditioning that began when you did... ancient memories of wins, losses and resentments that remain unsettled and unresolved.

Lest intellectualism that today is immersed in setting up big cities everywhere was instead diverted in making plans of setting up advanced villages we would have witnessed small self dependent advanced rural areas everywhere. Neither thus would urban areas get over populated, become dirty and endure all forms of distortions and nor due to talent from villages running away to urban areas rural areas get rendered withered and depleted. Whether in self or public regions wars sh
I was out for dinner with a friend a while ago and she asked me several interesting questions: • “Why are relationships one of the most difficult experience there is?” • “Why do we have such deep, innate desire to seek romantic relationships or loving ...
One man can change the world. The iPhone in your pocket. The iPad in your bag. The sleek laptop you're reading this on. Thank Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs created Apple computers and Pixar, and brought us many of the most amazing and useful innovations of our time.
Do you yearn to live a more fulfilled, more satisfying life? If your answer is yes then what steps are you taking to get there? Are you taking personal responsibility for the direction of your own life or is your strategy to rely on hope? You see, there simply are no short cuts to living a life of fulfillment. Self improvement is the most important step you can take to achieve the life you desire. Simply put, achievement is a learned skill.
The famous Ansel Adams photograph, “Maroon Bells” (1964), is possibly one of the most replicated photographs among nature photographers. Run a Google images search on “Maroon Bells” and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Walk into any art store in Colorado, and you will find at least a dozen photographs of “Maroon Bells” on sale. Some will be in black and white, some will be in different seasons, and some of them will be night shots. The composition, however, will not vary by much. In the photography business, this phenomenon is known as commoditization.
I received the following message from a subscriber to my radio show a while back. It was, in fact, such a great question, I included it as part of this article . . . It went like this: “Hi, Michael - I listened in to [your show] yesterday which had me totally intrigued – enough to go back and listen to other podcasts – such a rich resource there, really.
Emotional clutter is made up of negative emotions from past experiences, and limiting beliefs that no longer apply to your current situation. Keeping emotional clutter away from you requires vigilance in setting and enforcing your boundaries. Your boundaries help define who you are and what ...
Deeply engrained in our bodies is the rage that wants to kill and destroy. This is the energy that fuels war, violence, and hatred. Unless this energy is met head on and transformed, it will continue to pervade human consciousness. This rage lives in your brain, your nervous system and your cells. When the pattern of rage gets triggered, it takes over and your logical thinking dissolves as your ancient brain takes charge. Until enough people clear out the ancient parts of their brains, war will continue on earth. Peace cannot come about until we change our brains and our nervous systems.
If you feel that your life has gone off-track, the practice of self-trust will help get it back on-track again. If you fear that your life has never been on-track, developing self-trust will help you connect with your true self, and create a life that reflects who you really are. You Are Meant To Create A life That Reflects Your Beauty And Your Truth The problem is, as we go through life we tend to get more and more out of touch with our own beauty and our own truth, until we end up living a life that feels too much like work.
The "Imposter Syndrome" is when a person feels they don't deserve a title or identity because they are not the best in their field, or because they feel they lack some form of credential, whether the credential is necessary or not. They are the kind of people who say they are an artist on-the-side, or that they have a side-business. They believe that because they aren't making a living off of their art, that they can't call themselves an artist. Because they haven't made a million dollars off their business idea, they are afraid to identify themselves with their business.
Wealth can be defined as any number of things, experiences, or manifestations. In the online seminar series I present, wealth is defined as "an increase in anything that is important to you." So wealth could be more smiles from friends, more money, or more of a profound and distinct experience of your relationship to . . . anything. Wealth doesn't even have to be "an accumulation of" because we don't necessarily stock up on smiles or experiences. This increase could be actual or perceived. It's simply an increase in anything that is important to you. With "to you" being the key phrase.
TB Wright I am a firm believe in the "tell the truth now, tell the truth later" method of living a successful life. Truth is authentic, clean, and it just simply feels right. We have a great method of disce ment for catching when people are telling the truth, including ourselves, and it's our feelings. So the best way to overcome anger is to tell the truth about it. If that feels right, then you are on the right path. You don’t have to agree with these steps for them to work well for you either. And know that it isn't that anger doesn't come up for all of us, it does.
Are you addicted to seeing what is missing in your life instead of the fullness that already exists? After hearing my inner voice give thanks for my lovely home and wishing it had larger rooms and more storage, I had an epiphany. Suddenly I realized that giving thanks and asking for more at the same time is a habitual pattern with me.
Do you set goals, perhaps make a vision board or focus on your hearts desires? The question arises, are you creating a fresh start with the same old thoughts, the same brain and the same membranes? Radical Gratitude is the bridge between where you are and the manifestation of your hearts desires. Gratitude is a way to clear the old thought patterns and transform you body/mind. Your conscious and subconscious thoughts help to create your reality. The only problem is that the subconscious triggers 40 million nerve impulses per second and runs 95% of the time.
One of the biggest challenges we all face is the ability to consistently concentrate on our goals, our aspirations, our career, our dreams. With all of the many tasks and obstacles we encounter each and every day, how do we keep on our toes, and focused on all of those? I know I do, let me share with you one of my favourite techniques! Ok, so, think of a particular goal of yours - now, you have it? Great! Do you find it hard to stay on the path?
Hi there everyone!! Did you know that you were meant to be free? That it is your birthright! Did you know that having a boss is unnatural, artificial, almost inhuman, and it's a constraint on your personal growth? Did you know that God intended for you to be your own boss? Since biblical times, society was organized so that everyone was their own boss. This whole phenomenon of bosses and employees is relatively recent in history. It started at the time of the Industrial Revolution.
We are so used to always seeing things from our own viewpoint. We know that what we experience is determined by our beliefs and filters and that these beliefs and filters were set in place at a young age before the life you are living now even existed. Yet we are so attached to our limited views that we will defend them aggressively in any argument. If you find yourself in a quarrel with someone, try this simple technique to expand your perspective and enable you to see a problem with more awareness and compassion. 1) First, see things from the 1st perspective.
We all know how powerful our subconscious mind is right? The great thing about your subconscious is that it can’t make the difference between fiction and reality and this is one of the many reasons why I want to share with you this process that will help you boost your self esteem and self confidence and eventually improve your life.
Revenge is a confession of pain.” Today it is hard to think of much else. The news that Osama Bin Laden was dead arrived last night, and I wasn’t alone in my shock. It is news I thought would never arrive. We all remember 9/11 and where we were that day. None of us was alone in our grief and anger. And for some, that suffering has continued for 10 long years. And I, like most Americans, will not grieve the loss of Bin Laden.
The beauty industry today is an enormous market. According to current estimates the cosmetics and toiletries industry is worth over US$45 billion to US$66 billion worldwide. We spend a lot of money pampering ourselves but does it really make us feel beautiful? When you look in the mirror do you think you are the 'fairest of them all'? The old adage 'beauty is only skin deep' is very relevant; however beautiful you may look on the outside, it is also about how beautiful you fe
For many years Huna was a secret. That's what the word 'Huna' means and it's become the name we use to describe an amazing and ancient system of knowledge. Of course, before it was a secret it was well-known for a very long time, having its origins over 35, 000 years ago. For anything to last that long, it has to work. And Huna does.
In recent years, one conce has continually cropped up in my practice. The conce regards the nature of suffering, and the question that usually arises involves why suffering exists. One recent client asked me, “If God is loving, then why am I constantly faced with pain and suffering?” Others have asked, “If God exists, then why does he let us suffer?” Maybe you’ve even had thoughts along these lines. Now, this post is not meant to be a discourse on the existence of God. It is, however, intended to offer my thoughts on the subject of pain and suffering.
Hi there everyone!! Why is it important to distinguish the categories of public speaking? At one point or another, we’ll find ourselves present in all three of these possible situations. If we’ve ever thought, “this is so boring,” or “teach me something new,” or “I don’t feel like participating,” then these distinctions are for us. How we effectively make use of these experiences comes down to realizing which experience we are truly in, and then using the advantages of that particular distinctive experience to enhance the experience.
I read the little book that inspired the successful book and movie “The Secret” called “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles. It reminded me of the Universal Principles I learned decades ago. The book doesn’t get into details of why the principles work. Instead, it is an application manual. How cool is that? “The Secret” and its interpretation of the “Law of Attraction” drew a lot of controversy. One argument is the simplicity of using the Law of Attraction to become materially wealthy.
My first lesson in business did not come in a classroom. I received my first lesson in business from my father when I was just a kid. Back in the 80’s, our family bought our first computer. It was a portable computer that was the size of a small sewing machine, and had a five-inch monochrome screen. It took us a while just to figure out how to turn it on. When we did turn it on, we sat there for a few minutes just looking at the blinking cursor not knowing what to do next. We took it to a friend of my father’s who happened to know a lot about computers.
There is in popular writing, and so in people's minds, some confusion over the distinction between creating and manifesting. These words point to two separate and important processes, and so, do not point to the same thing at all. Some of this confusion comes over the fact that the things that we desire to either create or manifest, are the same! But the processes we are using these words to describe most certainly are not. Using them interchangeably would be like using "baking" and "buying" as if they were one and the same action.
When you've kissed all the frogs you intend to, and have found what you think is the right relationship for you, you'll need to do something to make sure your relationship lasts. Just as you have to water and fertilize flowers in your garden, relationships need to be nurtured in order to thrive. The good news is that it doesn't have to be difficult. There are a number of small things you can do to keep your relationship on track. 1. Don't take your honey for granted. Let him know you appreciate him (or her).
Guess what the following people have in common? I have a friend who wanted to be a screenwriter at one point, but he never wrote a single line. He's excuse was that he couldn't think of a script that was guaranteed to sell. I have a photography client who hasn't touched her camera in over a year because she's waiting for an ideal photo project. I have a family member who has been living with his parents for over five years because he refuses to get a job, and is waiting for a million dollar business idea.
There really is no such thing as a "bad" day. There are days that are certainly much more challenging than others, to say the least, but that doesn't make them bad. Know that you can make them better. Days are filled with ups and downs. Some will be exciting, heartwarming, moving, encouraging, and hopeful, while others can be exactly the opposite. Perhaps you have, or are currently facing a troubled time in your life. Something, or someone, has you questioning how you will ever make it through this day, let alone the next ones to come.
I ran into an old friend of mine, Brian, at a nearby bookstore, and we immediately went through the pleasantries of finding out what the other had been up to. Brian started telling me about how he and his wife were struggling financially, but that he was hopeful about a new business venture he was starting. Being who I am, I asked him what his new venture was. Brian said that he was going to start selling some kind of weight loss vitamin supplement that someone at his church had told him about.
I once had as an account manager for a dotcom company, back when dotcoms were still new, and just before the bubble burst. I was single at the time, and I worked close to 12-hour days, seven days a week, by choice. I was on a steady diet caffeine, and fast food. I had no time to exercise, and spent most of my free time in front of a television set. I was exhausted all the time, and I never felt fully rested. And even though I was making a decent living, I never felt fulfilled. I became a workaholic.
I know this sounds counter-intuitive, but here goes: STOP TRYING TO BE SUCCESSFUL! I have a cousin, Larry, who lives in Los Angeles, and has fallen into the trap of trying to be a celebrity entrepreneur. Larry buys expensive clothes, is obsessed with sports cars, and always talks about money. Larry’s Facebook page is filled with photos of himself with random gorgeous women, or standing next to a sports car. Larry also has tons of credit card debt, and probably has more money going out then in.
Each minute is a brand new start. Why wait until tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year to start fresh? In any given moment we can check in and see how we’re doing. Are we rushed, stressed, sad, happy, anxious, content, breathing, etc? The question is whether we’re too occupied in our thoughts and/or actions to be still and listen. Every second and every experience is an opportunity to wake up and recognize the potential within you and it. Think of it like this - have you ever eaten something stale?
I think the “start-your-own-business” peddlers need to stop belittling the 9 to 5 lifestyle. Stop assuming that people aren’t living the life they were meant to have. Surely you guys can peddle your goods without making people feel like crap, right? Telling everyone they “must have their own business” is just as absurd as telling everyone they “must become a jazz flutist.” Let’s face facts. Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone, and not all entrepreneurs are rich.
Many of my clients seek approval from friends, family, industry leaders, and colleagues before pushing the "go" button. They feel they shouldn't move forward unless they have everyone's approval or permission first.
Our lives are made up of habits from the minute we wake up and go through our morning routine, to the end of the day and our evening rituals. They can simplify our lives by putting routine, regularly repeated actions on autopilot so we don't have to pay any special attention to them so we can multitask. There are good habits, then there are the habits you consider bad and you want to change. Do you have a habit you'd really like to quit once and for all? Perhaps you've tried many times but it still persists. Could be, you've left something out.
My girlfriend and I are "American Idol" (FOX) junkies. We promise to stop watching year after year, but we keep going back. This is the first year that she watched the auditions, which happens to be my favorite part of the series. The phrase that always bothered me is when a contestant says, "This means everything to me." Are you serious?! It's this contest or nothing? First of all, "American Idol" is not a contest. "American Idol" is a televised audition. Let's get that's get that straight first.
Does the name Jeff Foxworthy sound familiar to you? He’s host of the show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” He gained his original fame as a standup comic using his signature one liners which started with the phrase, “you know you’re a redneck when...” I hope Mr Foxworthy won’t mind if I borrow his concept for this article.
I remember being a young mom and finally getting my baby on a routine. Oh, I've got it down now. I just need to feed him at 7, change his diaper, and put him down for a nap from 9-10:30. I have a whole hour and a half to take my shower, do the dishes, make phone calls... Finally! I had figured it out! I could do this mom thing. :-) Until... He changed! :-0 What?! He entered a new phase and didn't want to go down for his nap at 9 anymore. Even when he finally fell asleep,
A statistic recently came out that 63 millio Americans have a Net Worth of $0. One-fifth of our population is now barely surviving. I find this to be absolutely unacceptable, being that this country also has such extraordinary wealth. To this end I am promoting the concept of Change = Opportunity to help people understand that although things don't work they way they used to work, there is actually the most extraordinary opportunity right now to create your own reality and live according to your own dreams and goals.
I finally got around to seeing the movie, "Whip It" (dir. Drew Barrymore).
When unsettling times occur, your emotions can get the best of you. Fear and doubt can creep in and the feeling of hope seems to be lost. When faced with a problem have unsinkable hope. Whether it's hope for yourself or another person, it may appear to be out of reach or just beyond your grasp, but rest assure, it's not. Your thoughts can be pretty tricky and quite believable sometimes. They may even seem as if they grab hold of you and you find yourself plummeting to the darkest and doubtful places in yourself.
Do you keep repeating the same money issues? Have you tried other money programs, seminars, technologies, read the financial books and still none of them have worked? If you have been suffering about money, until that distress at the cellular level is cleared, you will continue to face the same ...
A Self Help Article by Shirley Carton © "I NEVER KNEW I WAS BLIND...BUT NOW I SEE." It is easy to lose yourself and your dreams during bleak economic times such as these. Each day the news gives us plenty of reasons to dread the future instead of pursuing our goals and dreams. I say, This is no way to live. You can achieve and fulfill your dreams in any conditions, if you think you can, affirm you can, and believe that you can. When are we going to be ready to make a commitment to change, and stop making excuses ? Blaming everyone else for everything.
Hi there everyone!! The multitude of personal development programs available in the market is vast and overwhelming. How do we know which programs are right for us? What can we do to maximize the benefits of a self-improvement course? Here are three steps that I've discovered to be crucial in starting any personal development program: 1. Be Open-Minded It's easy to look at a program and discard it quickly. There are so many options available that we may tend to be too critical or unintentional in our selection criteria.
In the movie, "The King's Speech," the speech therapist (Geoffrey Rush) provides the stuttering King George VI (Colin Firth) with a set of exercises to keep his body and mind moving forward while speaking. By keeping his body and mind in a state of flow, King George VI was able to keep his speeches moving forward whenever he had the urge to stutter. The speech therapist was teaching King George VI the habit of completion.
Today I will share with you an important practice that can bring you insight on your life at "multidimensional" levels. Dreams are not just elaborations of the subconscious as many people think, but they are the symbolic language we use to communicate with the Universe. They are also the language through which the Universe communicate to us. When someone comes to me, the first thing I try to understand is what symbols are involved behind that person’s experience.
Bill Maher may be a gifted comedian, talk show host and the creator of the recent movie “Religulous” yet most would agree that he is about as far from being a fundamentalist you can get. Or Is he? Maher and I agree that it is ridiculous to steadfastly hold on to the belief that the universe was created in six literal twenty four hour days as told in Genesis’s story of creation. And, as religious fundamentalist believe, evolution is just a man made theory with no validity.
Tired of having to carry around a bottle of ink just to sign legal documents, W. B. Purvis invented the fountain pen. He didn’t shop around for a solution; he invented the solution. The solution was in the problem itself: the body of the pen became the vessel in which to carry the ink. In almost every case, the constraints of a problem always end up presenting the solution. And if you can find the right solution to the right problem, you have a business on your hands.
We have all had the experience of feeling "stuck" at some time or another in our lives or in our careers. No matter what we try to do, nothing seems to work. We spin our wheels and expend our energy, but don't seem to get where we want to go. When we feel stuck, we are often seeing our situation from a particular perspective. Our focus is on our specific planned approach, a particular outcome we want to achieve, and/or how we want others in the equation to behave. When things do not go as planned, it can be frustrating.
Fear is one of the most difficult emotions to manage. But if we don’t learn how to manage our own fear and help those around us to manage theirs, we are going to turn crisis into disaster. As a former psychotherapist I have spent many years witnessing people’s reactions to their own fear (and ...

Today is a blank page. What you see in it is only what you write on it. What do you want to write on this empty page today? Every day is a blank page that opens to you, inviting you to write your present and imagine your future. That is how life is lived by creators. But are you a creator? Or are you inadvertently living a life that has already been written? If you are working hard towards your personal goals or dreams, but find that you are not advancing, keep on reading. You may be trying to write your own story in a book that has already been written!
n n Life and Death Experiences nA near-death experience (NDE) refers to a broad range of personal experiences associated with impending death, encompassing multiple possible sensations ranging from detachment from the body, feelings of levitation, extreme fear, total serenity, security, or warmth, the experience of absolute dissolution, and the presence of a light, which some people interpret as a deity or spiritual presence. Many cultures and individuals revere NDEs as a par
I was at the bookstore the other day, and I noticed two kids running around playing some kind of game while their father shopped for bargain books. I couldn't quite figure out the rules of the particular game the little girls were playing. I soon realized that it was a game of their own invention. It reminded me of the time when we were kids, and my brother and I would invent games for ourselves when we were bored. At the grocery store, for example, the tiles were mostly white with a few islands of color tiles.
You’re sitting in your bed and contemplating about your life, about the ups and about the downs. You say it’s time for a change, you say it’s time for you to make something of yourself and you really believe it’s possible. In fact you will start changing your life starting tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and your mind is bombarded with all kind of thoughts about what you can and what you can’t do. You believed in yourself last night but today… Well, today is a different story. You no longer think you can, and you have all these past experiences to prove you just that.
What I would like to share with you today is the best method I could find, and experienced, to bring changes into your life. The following is an extract from my online course "Soulmate Connection" : "In the ete al being that is you, you still preserve your pure consciousness, and whatever you think in that pristine perception can become real much more easily. You are creating from the Source and not from your little limited horizon. In that Pure Source is where you can relax more in the perfect reality you always wanted" What does this mean?
Fuel prices are steep and always rising. Car owners need to find ways to make their car fuel last longer. If you can squeeze a few more miles out of every gallon imagine the savings you can make on fuel costs. The world is constantly finding out ways to use transportation that is affordable and eco-friendly. There are solar battery powered cars as well as hybrid cars in use. However the majorities are still using petrol or diesel powered vehicles. nnWhether you drive a two se
Oprah Winfrey is an artist, and her life is her canvas. She is a woman who constantly reinvents herself. She started out with a tabloid television show, and then transformed it into an iconic television show focused around self-help and spirituality. Then she transitioned from being a television host to owning her own network; it’s literally called the OWN Network. Although these changes may seem inevitable in hindsight, in the moment, they are giant leaps forward. She is a master at reinventing herself.
Old beliefs, personal prejudice and dogmatic traditions can often get in the way of progress our personal lives, in business, and even in the creative arts. Since today is Hank Aaron’s birthday (February 5, 1934), it only seems appropriate to take a look at baseball history to understand the value in breaking traditional barriers.
Berthold Auerbach said, “Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life”. I don’t know about you, but music has, and continues to, enhance all areas of my life. No matter what mood or space I am in, I can put on a certain song or type of music and everything seems to just wash away. When you listen to your favourite songs or different genres of music, how do you feel? Perhaps you are inspired, feel energetic, happier, relaxed, romantic, moved, touched, blessed, or even in awe when you listen to it.
Most of the information you'll find online about home based business opportunities these days will rehash a lot of the same old stuff. You'll hear such things as how great it is to be your own boss, time flexibility, freedom from the alarm clock and so on. You've heard all of this stuff a thousand times, haven't you? You're already familiar with the benefits a home based business opportunity can provide so now you're looking for information that can deliver the goods.
We all have a physical body, emotional body and mental body and they all influence each other. I’m sure you’ve had the experience where alot of mental stress (mental) makes your irritable (emotional) and exhausted (physical), or when eating too much sugar (physical) and made you feel agitated (emotional) and not thinking straight (mental). There are many examples you can think of where it’s clear that one body is affecting the others.
I run into a lot of artists that want to sell their artwork, or to turn their artwork into a business. I am all for the idea of sharing creativity. I am not, however, one of those coaches that will tell every artist that I run into to turn their art into profit. Sometimes a hobby should just stay a hobby.
I once saw my mom pick up a penny that she somehow saw in the middle of a parking lot. She waved it in the air as if it were a blessing, and placed it carefully into her purse. I asked my how she was able to see that penny? She said that pennies are everywhere, and that all you have to do is look.
When your vision and your dreams are big - surely, they are big, right? no point, in playing a small game...) - at some point you are going to ask yourself, "Exactly how do I do this?" Of course you can achieve your dreams. But sometimes they are so big, you do not know what to do. Or maybe you know what to do but you are not sure where to start. One of the answers is that you are going to make a pretty huge "To Do" list.
Hi there everyone!! I’m sitting on the subway across from a beautiful woman... I want to strike up a conversation, but my fears get the best of me. Then, this beautiful woman starts up a conversation with another person on the subway who is also a stranger to her (I eavesdropped on their conversation). Now I knew that she was, at least, a person open to having conversations with strangers (a "stranger talker").
Marianne Williamson’s “Our Greatest Fear” provides this powerful reminder: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.r
I was out for dinner with a friend a while ago and she asked me several interesting questions: • “Why are relationships one of the most difficult experience there is?” • “Why do we have such deep, innate desire to seek romantic relationships or loving partners?” • “Why is it that at some ...
This article is designed to allow you to have some real relief. Not the "fake it till you make it" kind of relief, but the "tell the truth now, tell the truth later" kind of relief: authentic, and lasting. Relief from what? From what the details of our lives may actually be at any one moment. No truer words were ever spoken tha "this too shall pass." Our lives are this way because change is the only constant in this Universe of flux and flow. And the more flowing we become with that flux, the more fluid we become. This flowing is called our ability to "be" with something.
Are you one of those people who think that if they are out of school they no longer need the education, they no longer need to learn? I used to think like that also. I knew that once you finish school the reading, the studying, the researching will be over. We will always be ignorant, whether we stop learning at 20, at 30 or at 100 but the person who does not stop studying just because they finish school will have a happier and more meaningful life. They will be a more knowledgeable and wiser person then the one who stops this process once they’re out of school.
Let me start by saying that I am a firm believe in the laws of universal attraction – a.k.a “The Secret”. At the same time however, I must add that there is so much about this law that I do not understand. I’ve seen the law in action in both my own life as well as in the lives of many others ...
Wanting is the one hard wired human condition that will not go away. We want to be warm, we want to be fed, we want to be loved, we want so many things. And then after those basic wants are fulfilled, we want to be happy and successful, in whatever way success is defined for each of us. Given that truth, it might work the best for us, to learn how to develop a relationship to wanting that works for us as a foundation for our success. What would a relationship like that look like? It would be one that on a continual, day by day, basis, causes us to shift our energy from, to.
Negativity hurts. Have you ever had the experience where everything was fine, you're in a great mood and have great intentions for a certain event that is about to happen. Suddenly, something happens, and it's like a troll has jumped up from under the bridge and dragging you down into its anger, sadness, irritability, dread or depression. What happened? You've been triggered. Something in your outside world just triggered those feelings within you that sucked all the enthusiasm and joy out of you.
The entangled threads of my own thoughts tug at notions of women and leadership; women and breast cancer; the need women seem to have to apologize when not agreeing or finding something lacking; food and its stranglehold on women and their bodies; and last, but most definitely not least, women and men. Were these neatly laid out in some pattern or framework, it would be much easier for me to collect my thoughts, one leading nicely to the next, formed in reason and supported by an obvious logic…..but such is not the case.
What I am suggesting in this article is that there are seven things you could look to change in order to improve your life.nnWe all have times in our life when we wish we could change things. Sometimes this is only a vague, fanciful wish but, at other times, it may be a serious desire to improve. nnMaking changes to improve your life really is a major undertaking. It is not something that should be done without a plan or direction. To really improve your life, you need to hav
I love how photographers can capture the magnitude, beauty, force, serenity, innocence, mystery, and inspiration of just about anything in life as they tell a story. There is something magical about photographs where images seem to come alive, where you can feel the essence within the picture as if you are right there at that very moment. They can evoke intense emotions like happiness, sadness, outrage, sexuality, love, hatred, peace, inspiration, etc. It’s astonishing that just looking at a picture can conjure up pleasant or unpleasant feelings. Our thinking minds project
We, people of the third millennium, are supposed to be highly civilised and educated. We have moved from the caves to the city and have now succeeded in achieving what we call a global village. We are even planning to colonise other planets. But so far as our behaviour is concerned, what have we achieved? One part of our brain has developed to a very high extent, but what part is it? Have we achieved anything more than just new and easier means of obtaining food, clothing and
Your life will not get better if you don’t get better. The question is how to do just that. You can’t expect things to just happen without you moving a finger. If you want your life to get better, if you want to be happy you have to work on yourself. You can’t expect the world to change, you can’t expect those around you to change and you to remain the same. The world will not change if you don’t change. I know I have said it before, but it is true. Once you decide to change, once you will make those changes, the whole world will change with you.
The Flow, Following Spirit, In The Votex, On The Grid, What Feels Lighter is True for You, Ask and Receive, Law of Attraction, Follow Your Spirit A few days ago, I kept following “what feels lighter” (as taught by AccessConsciousness.com ) something I have always done, but explained by them in a very simple manner. Somehow it CLICKED, it all came together in my mind with “Follow Your Spirit”, “In The Flow” and “In The Vortex”.
How many parents really know how to properly raise their children? I personally believe that there are many parents out there who are really struggling. Just take a walk on the park and try to notice the interaction between the parents and their children. You will hear things like:”Stop that. Don’t do that. Don’t touch that. Don’t go there you will hurt yourself. Get back here you little devil. I told you not to get up there. I told you it can’t be done. It is impossible.
This is a beautiful process that will shift your energy immediately. Do it whenever you need a boost, feel sad or depressed, anytime you our out of alignment with Who you really are! Appreciating What You Have In Your Life by Kimberley Cohen Sometimes it’s difficult to appreciate what you have in your life because you might be looking at and longing for what you don’t have. When you can be grateful for the love and abundance in your life right now, you are less likely to be stressed or anxious about what you feel is missing or lacking. This isn’t always easy since the grass can look pretty lush and green on the other side of the fence, so to speak.
If you have ever felt stuck, you know how frustrating it can be. You want to move forward, but can't seem to get traction. Or you vacillate back and forth between alte ative courses of action, unable to make your decision. In my 30 years of experience helping people get unstuck, I have ...
Hi there everyone!! Knowing how important it is to have a good subject line, I was asking my friend Rick to help me choose the one that’s best for this week. He started off by disqualifying some of them: “I promise this will change your life” and “This will change your life, guaranteed” sounded too aggressive. And “This will change your life: courage, health, security, and freedom” was too much. Then I inquired about punctuation. An exclamation mark might be too bold, and “...” may come across as too needy.
I have an associate who was a stand-up comedian for a little while. For right now, let’s call him Bill. Bill started out on open mic nights at a local comedy club, and then began touring as an opener for a headline comedian. Bill eventually stopped performing stand-up comedy for reasons I have yet to figure out. But for the short time that he was a comedian, he ended up creating his own course on the art of standup comedy.
TB Wright I once asked a woman who was giving tips on "How to become enlightened" not as a flip way of sassing her, but as a legitimate question. "How can you give advice in any way whatsoever, on being enlightened, when you are not?" She answered by saying that she could certainly know of the existence of something, without being that. I agreed with her. I knew of the sun, without being the sun, but I wasn't saying I was on the path to become the sun now, was I? So the question still remained.
When’s the last time you heard what your family had to say? Over the holidays? A wedding? Or a funeral? Well, think again it’s not that family, but your inner family. When is the last time you heard an inner voice say, “No, I can’t do that.” or “What will they think of me?” or “That will ...
You may have personally experienced, or just heard from other people, of the mental boost that they get from smoking. Perhaps, for a short period of time such boost may be true, however in the long run, the effect of the tobacco consumption may be more dangerous to your brain than what you have expected. If you want to better your brain’s well-being, you have to be aware of what affects your IQ.
The Truth is that you are a vast, limitless being who chose to come to earth and be in a body. During the process of trying to squish this vastness into a small body you needed to choose some limitations in order to fit into a human form. It is all a grand game and you decided which limitations you would play with. As you accept who you really are, a vast limitless creator, then the game and your life take on a new dimension. Instead of struggling, feeling unworthy and fake, you can experience and live from a place of our Expanded Self.
After interviewing 3,200 women in 10 countries, a 2004 study found that only 2% considered themselves beautiful, and nearly 50% believed they were too fat. Every summer I hear moans and groans as men and women alike consider putting on that swim suit. But, can how you feel about yourself actually affect your health?
We all like the idea of changing the appearance of our home. However, the limitations often come from the economic. With these ideas, you can skip that pitfall Many times, the problem with remodeling our house does not happen because of the lack of ideas or the will to face this hard work. The economic issue is not minor and usually weighs a lot in these cases. However, it will be useful to know some ideas to transform your home with little money. Do you want more articles li
Do you put on your running shoes and make a mad dash? Hide behind your desk? Try to stay clear of them, or avoid them all together? Do you sometimes find yourself or your mood changing when you are around them? Maybe you become frustrated, impatient, angry, or you try to change their minds or moods with little or no success.
If you are reading this blog, you have probably at one point either heard of, or read the Seth Godin's book, "Linchpin". If you haven't read it yet, here's the highlight: be indispensable. I would take it another step, and say that you need to be indispensable to the right people.
Awakening to Wholeness: My Personal Storyr The Limits of Positive Thinking and the Four Principles of Awakening to, and Living in Wholeness. I recently received an email inquiry from my SOULutions website that stated; “Can you help me think more positively about myself and feel more optimistic about my life? Can you help me stop my chronic critical self talk?” My immediate thought was, “Yes!
I'll admit; there isn't much I know about how to beat depression. What I do know of it, those who suffer depression find themselves in an almost daily struggle dealing with the affliction. I wish there were words of liberatio I could offer those folks...but I don't have any. I'd be remiss if I tried. However, there is a lot I know about beating desperation. And I think it's a safe bet to say that there are a lot of folks out there today who are suffering desperation. Unemployment in some parts of the world, including parts of the USA, is at double digits.
Many creative people struggle with time management and organization because many of them believe that constraints hinder the freedom to create. The opposite is actually true. Constraints can actually lead to productive creativity. To be creative means one is in the habit of creating. Being productive means one is in the habit of creating regularly.
Transformation is the wonderful process of moving into who we really are. It involves shedding old habits that no longer serve us, revamping outdated beliefs that limit us, and discarding rigid roles that confine us. This process opens us up to our inner truth and our divine wisdom. From this ...
One of my clients came to me with the goal of trying to get into the craft business. For now, let’s call him Dale. Like many entrepreneurial artists, Dale had a day job, and he was trying to build his craft business during his spare time. One of the first questions I asked him was whether he wanted to turn this craft business into his main form of income. Dale said that he couldn’t figure out how to turn his craft into a full time business. I tried to point out to Kevin that my question was not whether he knew how to turn his craft into his main form of income.
Is success contrary to spiritual development? I just had a radio show on this topic and the answer is: obviously not! If you think about about it, what is success?
How beautiful to be free! Free from illusions and the endless demands of ego. Here are ten ways to enhance your own awakening process and live in freedom, love and joy!
A house of cards takes very little preparation to build but still requires particular intricacies for success. One wrong move and in less than a second the little structure can fold into a flat pile. The same can be said for completing any task or project whether professional or private. Some steps must be followed to the letter or the project faces difficulty maturing. Still, the recipe for success isn’t just about adhering to instructions but also how they are carried out
